Publication number: 20120118392Abstract: The invention relates to a microfluidic apparatus for producing a volume flow that is uniform over time in a metering process. In various solution processes or reaction processes it is essential to have a specified given volume flow or mass flow of fluid available to ensure reliable dissolution of the reagent or ensure that the reaction takes place. In microfluidic apparatus in which separation of particles from a fluid, particularly blood, is carried out through a membrane, the volume flow through the membrane decreases continuously. In order to achieve a uniform volume flow during metering, it is envisaged that first of all a reservoir is filled from a first channel, so that the contents of the reservoir can then be fed to the metering process by opening a fluid stop. The emptying of the reservoir takes place with a uniform volume flow of 0.05 microlitres per second to 10 microlitres per second.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 8, 2010Publication date: May 17, 2012Applicant: BOEHRINGER INGELHEIM MICROPARTS GMBHInventors: Gert Blankenstein, Christian Schoen

Publication number: 20120037231Abstract: A cementious washout container includes a container body having a container reservoir. A hinged chute assembly is rotatably coupled with an upper portion of the container body. The hinged chute assembly includes a chute panel, and a hopper screen coupled with the chute panel. The hopper screen includes perforations overlying the container body. A container drain is positioned at a lower end of the container body, and a container valve is movably coupled over the container drain. The cementious washout container retains and stores washout water and fine particles from multiple loads of cement or concrete and consolidates the washout water and fine particles for a single delivery of the same without requiring multiple separate deliveries of these wastes in multiple trucks.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 11, 2011Publication date: February 16, 2012Applicant: Knutson ConstructionInventors: Steven Janson, Scott Luhman, Mark Nielsen

Publication number: 20120006412Abstract: A water harvesting sports arena system includes a stadium seating area, a playing surface operating as at least a part of a water catchment arrangement, and a water reservoir, which may be a segmented tank, positioned below the playing surface to receive and store water passing through the playing surface. A water discharge arrangement is associated with the water reservoir so that water is dischargeable from the water reservoir for consumption or other uses. The stadium seating area is advantageously impervious to water so as to direct water toward the playing field for capture.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 6, 2011Publication date: January 12, 2012Applicant: ATOPIA ResearchInventors: Jane HARRISON, David TURNBULL

Publication number: 20120000838Abstract: An article and method to treat extracorporeally a patient's bodily fluid. The bodily fluid can include blood, cerebral spinal fluid and lymph. A first stage of the method includes applying a treatment. The treatment can comprise dosing with a medication, thermal treatment, or irradiation. The treatment can occur at levels that could otherwise compromise the patient's health. A second stage of the method substantially removes the treatment from the bodily fluid. The bodily fluid can then be returned to the patient. The article includes a treatment chamber that applies the treatment and a removal module for removing the treatment. The method can be a continuous process such as, for example, a dialysis process.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 16, 2010Publication date: January 5, 2012Applicant: MARV ENTERPRISES LLCInventor: Mitchell S.
