  • Patent number: 11466792
Abstract: The absence of high efficiency, compact fluidic pumps has until recently blocked the consideration of using hydraulic devices within portable and/or alkaline battery powered consumer and non-consumer products. The higher the functionality and programmability desired for a consumer and/or non-consumer product exploiting a fluidic pump then the more complex the overall fluidic system in terms of the number of actuators, valves, switches etc. within the fluidic system coupled to the one or more fluidic pumps. Accordingly, there exists a requirement to provide compact fluidic valves and switches to support configurability, programmability, and operation of these portable battery-operated consumer and non-consumer devices in conjunction with these newly available high efficiency, compact fluidic pumps. Such fluidic valves and switches should offer high efficiency, have a small footprint, be low complexity for high reliability and ease of manufacture, and low cost.

  • Patent number: 11280426
Abstract: Fluidics offers a means of distributing power to activate elements remote from the power source as the pressure/fluid flow may be used directly to generate an action and/or motion without requiring an additional transducer, e.g. a motor to convert electric power to mechanical power. Prior art pumps, valves, and switches are bulky devices with high power consumption limiting their use in many portable battery-operated consumer and non-consumer devices. Accordingly, it would be desirable to provide designers of such products with hydraulic valves and switches to support and provide configurability, programmability, and operation of these devices in conjunction with compact high efficiency pumps to provide devices meeting the market requirements for low footprint, complexity, low power, and low cost.

Abstract: A beverage dispensing system with a base to which a dispensing head is removably attached without additional fasteners, wherein beverage forming liquids are supplied through a plurality of separate conduits in the base. Each base conduit has a normally closed valve that normally blocks fluid flow. The dispensing head has at least one passageway that receives liquid from an associated one of the base conduits. At least two separate output tubes are configured for passing at least two separate liquids to a user's mouth. A valve assembly includes a lower portion having at least two input connectors each joined to a one of the input tubes. An upper portion has at least two output connectors each joined to a one of the output tubes. An adjustable valve portion determines proportions of liquids in the separate chambers that are passed to the user's mouth where the liquids remain separate until reaching the user's mouth, and where liquids drawn back down the input tubes and the output tubes into the chambers remain substantially separated.
