Patent number: 8272448Abstract: An electrical line for installation in a well for transmitting power to a well pump includes a string of coiled tubing. An electrical cable having insulated electrical conductors embedded within an elastomeric jacket extends longitudinally through the interior passage of the tubing. Body members are placed around the outer periphery of the electrical cable, and the body members are compressed onto the electrical cable through the use of an anchor assembly. The anchor assembly is held in a compressed state through the use of frangible support elements. Once the electrical cable is in place within the coiled tubing, the user applies an external force to cause the support elements to fail, thereby releasing the anchor assembly from its compressed state. The anchor assembly contacts the inner wall of the coiled tubing, such that the weight of the electrical cable is transferred to coiled tubing.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2009Date of Patent: September 25, 2012Assignee: Baker Hughes IncorporatedInventor: John J. Patent number: 7997303Abstract: The present invention relates to a pipe segment including an outer and an inner pipe section, with the inner pipe section being positioned within the outer pipe section, and a support means supporting the inner pipe section in relation to the outer pipe section so that the inner pipe section can expand axially relative to the outer pipe section in response to temperature changes in the material being transported in the pipe segment. Furthermore, the present invention refers to a transfer line for transporting hot particulate material, such as iron ore fines, in a carrier gas, including a plurality of these pipe segments and to a process for transporting hot particulate material in a carrier gas in a direct smelting plant for producing molten metal from a metalliferous feed material, in particular between a pretreatment unit and solid delivery means in the form of lances for injecting the material into a direct smelting vessel.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2004Date of Patent: August 16, 2011Assignee: Outotec OyjInventors: Karsten Hoffhaus, Gunther Kazmeier, Marco Aurelio Flores-Verdugo

Patent number: 7919733Abstract: A heat trace assembly is provided that includes a heat trace section, an insulation jacket surrounding the heat trace section, and a plurality of standoffs disposed between the heat trace section and the insulation jacket. A corresponding plurality of passageways are formed between the heat trace section and the insulation jacket and between the plurality of standoffs. The standoffs can be a part of the insulation jacket and/or the heat trace section, and the standoffs can furthermore be integrally formed with or separately attached to the insulation jacket and/or the heat trace section.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2006Date of Patent: April 5, 2011Assignee: Watlow Electric Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Eric E. Patent number: 7905295Abstract: Submersible pump power cable is inserted into a length of tubing. The device comprises an anchoring system attachable to the cable affixed to the tubing inner surface. The anchoring system includes an anchoring sleeve slideable over the cable and insertable into the tubing. Coiling the tubing with the cable and anchoring system inside energizes the sleeve into an anchoring configuration to anchor the cable within the tubing. The anchoring system continues to anchor the cable after uncoiling the tubing and inserting it into a wellbore.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2008Date of Patent: March 15, 2011Assignee: Baker Hughes IncorporatedInventor: John J. Publication number: 20100319364Abstract: An insulated and refrigerated beverage transport line provides enhanced temperature control of one or more beverages conveyed through the transport line. A plurality of coolant lines carrying a re-circulated coolant makes contact with the one or more product lines. One or more empty lines, referred to as packers, may be placed between the coolant lines and the product lines to provide a dimensionally stable and tight group of lines that are bundled together. An external insulation is provided over the bundle of lines to further enhance insulation for the beverage being transported through the product lines. At least one dedicated coolant return line may be placed remote from the other lines. The dedicated coolant return line carries the highest temperature coolant found in a beverage transport system. Independent and separate insulation of this dedicated coolant return line prevents inadvertent heat transfer to the one or more product lines.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 6, 2010Publication date: December 23, 2010Applicant: MILLERCOORS, LLCInventor: Kevin WINTERS

Patent number: 7854240Abstract: The foam tube for pipe insulations has an external surface and an internal surface. The internal surface is provided with an adhesively bonded layer of fibers. The fibers are a material having a melt temperature that is higher than that of the polymeric foam. The fibers are adhesively bonded to the internal surface such as to stand up from the internal surface. The fibers are substantially uniformly distributed over the internal surface providing a surface coverage of 2 to 20 percent. Further, the fibers have a linear density of 0.5 to 25 dtex and a length of 0.2 to 5 mm. With this fiber layer the polymeric foam tube has an improved thermal resistance and thermal conductivity.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2003Date of Patent: December 21, 2010Assignee: Armacell Enterprise GmbHInventors: Mika Meller, Juerg Weibel, Stephen C.
