  • Patent number: 7789112
Abstract: A method and system for inflating an object includes providing a portable, programmable inflation system having a logic processor, a memory, a visual display, manual inputs, a compressor with an attached inflation hose, a pressure sensor, and an actuator attached to a valve for releasing pressure from the object. The portable programmable inflation system is moved near the object and the inflation hose is attached. Then, a desired air pressure setting is received from a manual input and stored in memory. Then, the current air pressure in the object is sensed with the pressure sensor, and it is determined whether the air pressure in the object is above or below the desired air pressure setting. Under control of the logic processor, the object is inflated if the air pressure is below the desired air pressure setting or deflated if the air pressure is above the desired air pressure setting.

  • Patent number: 7389800
Abstract: A fluid delivery device that may be used in any orientation is presented. The device includes a container, a first fluid in the container space, an inlet opening attached to a bladder, and an outlet opening. A second fluid enters the container through the inlet opening. The bladder, which receives the second fluid as it enters the container, expands with the amount of second fluid that is received. As more of the second fluid is received and the bladder expands, the first fluid is pushed out of the container through the outlet opening. The device may be used as a tire repair system, for example by coupling the inlet opening to an air compressor and coupling the outlet tube to a tire. The first fluid that's in the container space would be a sealant composition in this case. Different embodiments of the bladder are possible depending on the application.

  • Patent number: 7373963
Abstract: An apparatus and method for simply and inexpensively positioning mounted automobile and truck tires for effective setting of a bead, with subsequent inflation in an efficient manner. In one exemplary embodiment, the apparatus is a wheel-like structure with an outer rim in the shape of a polygon, such as a circle, octagon, hexagon, or square. The outer rim supports a plurality of mounting brackets adapted to hold tires for inflation. Tires that have been mounted on wheel rims are placed on the mounting brackets, a bead is set by a blast of air, and an air inflation hose is connected to the tire. The wheel rotates, so that additional tires can be placed on subsequent mounting brackets, resulting in a series of tires being inflated continuously and simultaneously. When a tire is completely inflated, the hose is disconnected and the tire removed from the device for storage, shipping or further handling.

  • Patent number: 7370677
Abstract: A gaseous composition particular suitable for inflating the tires of vehicles with a high heat transfer capacity that results in tires having a longer life and better performance. In one aspect, this composition is based on hydrofluorocarbons, and is capable of effectively conducting the heat generated during the rotation of the tire to the wheel rim and at a more or less constant pressure. In one aspect, the wheel rim acts as a radiator, exchanging the heat with the outside air, maintaining the tire temperature low and preventing it from overheating.

Abstract: An inflation stem having an inflation valve combined with a blow-off valve to prevent overinflation. The valves are forced open during inflation when the actuating pin is depressed by the compressor chuck head, opening a fill chamber through which fluid flows into an inflatable object, and also opening a blow-off chamber. A blow-off intake allows lower pressure fluid from the interior of the object to enter the blow-off chamber. The fluid entering the blow-off chamber is isolated from the high pressure fluid coming in from the compressor through the fill chamber by a separation fin and shield joined to the bottom end of the actuating pin. A blow-off gasket is biased upward by a blow-off spring. But as pressure in the object and the blow-off chamber increases, the blow-off gasket is forced down, until at the predetermined pressure it is pushed past a blow-off port, through which fluid then escapes.

  • Patent number: 7320345
Abstract: An air inflation device is a pass-thru vehicle tire inflation device. It ensures exact air pressure without the use of an air gauge. It works by attaching to a tire valve, and then to an existing air supply, such as those found at gas stations, and utilizing an internal pressure relief valve that is pre-set to exact PSI recommendations. This means that the inflation device will put only the amount of air needed in every tire without having to use a pressure gauge. Air moves through an internal air chamber constructed of plastic or rubber tubes that runs through the nozzle to the head that attaches to the valve of the tire. A plastic valve located on the back of the apparatus connects to any existing air supply. A pressure relief valve is integrated into the bottom of the nozzle that ensures that the exact PSI recommendations are maintained.
