    Abstract: A molding coping fixture is disclosed. The coping fixture includes a plurality of shims, where the shims can be adjusted to conform to a profile of a molding to be coped, the shims are secured into the fixture and maintain the profile during a coping cut by a router. The coping fixture according to the present invention also includes an anti-tear-out device prevent tear-out of material from the molding during the coping cut. In various preferred embodiments, some or all of the anti-tear-out device may be replaceable. The coping fixture according to the present invention also includes a fixture for selectively adjusting the angle of the coping cut. In various preferred embodiments, a guide pin passes along the shims and a router bit secured in a fixed relation to the guide pin performs the coping cut while the guide pin passes along the shims.

    Abstract: An apparatus for hardening the hitting head area of a wooden baseball bat by compressing of the wooden fibers on the surface thereof which includes a base housing assembly with a track and a carriage assembly with a rail member. A compression roller is mounted to the housing and a bat is retained to the carriage adjacent the roller. The roller is biased into abutment with the bat for compressing the wooden fibers of hitting surface to increase the hitting power thereof as the carriage with the bat mounted thereof is manually powered for abutting movement along the adjacent compressing roller. The bat can be selectively mounted in a bat receiving zone defined by a plurality of U-shaped retaining brackets mounted to the carriage assembly.

    Abstract: An electric transmission wood pole is selected for installation of a grounding wire using a grounding wire slot cutting device generally having two bases, two elongate guide members, a trolley, and a power tool mounted in the trolley. The two bases are adapted to be strapped to the wood pole. With the grounding wire slot cutting device mounted on the wood pole, a groove is cut along the wood pole. This procedure can be repeated to create a continuous groove along the wood pole. A grounding wire is pushed into the groove, and a sealer is applied over the grounding wire to fill the groove and to seal the grounding wire.

    Abstract: The portable sawmill is constructed on a frame having a series of mechanisms for loading and manipulating a log thereon and removing boards cut from the log. Powered tines load a log onto a vertically adjustable log deck, the deck including powered mechanisms for turning and securing the log in the desired orientation for cutting. Cuts are made by a horizontally traveling band saw. The saw has no vertical adjustment. Board thickness is determined by the height of the vertically adjustable log deck. Cut boards are removed by a board sweep that pushes the board laterally from the top of the log onto a tray. The saw travels along the tray to push the board longitudinally onto a suitable platform for transport. All of the above mechanisms are controlled hydraulically from a single operator station on the mill, thus freeing the operator from many manual tasks and increasing production.
