Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for processing cylinder walls of internal combustion engines (1), including a cutting element (4). The cutting element (4) is arranged on a rotary cutting ring (3). The cutting element (4) has a slit contour (5) with a plurality of cutting edges (6) arranged next to each other in a direction of an axis of rotation of the rotary cutting ring. And, the individual cutting edges (6) face in a direction of rotation of the rotary cutting ring.
Abstract: A blade set for paper shredders is disclosed. In one embodiment, a notched blade having at least two notches in proximity to a central hole is brought into contact with a mating blade also having a central hole. Force is applied to the mating blade in such a fashion as to displace some of the body of the mating blade into the notches. This acts to substantially secure the blades together. In another embodiment, the notches are disposed on the edge of the blade and through the periphery. In yet another embodiment, one blade can have holes and not notches.
Abstract: A cutter head assembly for a wood planing machine includes a shaft, a plurality of cutter-mounting sleeve modules sleeved on the shaft, and a plurality of cutter modules respectively secured to the sleeve modules such that cutting edges of the cutter modules extend beyond outer wall surfaces of the sleeve modules. An angularly variable positioning mechanism includes an axially extending guiding member disposed on the mount segment, and a plurality of axially extending guided members disposed on inner wall surfaces of the sleeve modules to mate with the axially guiding member. By virtue of fitting engagement between the guiding member and a selected one of the guided member of each sleeve module that are sequentially sleeved onto the shaft, the cutting edges together define a cutting contour line that winds around the shaft.
Abstract: Systems for orienting strands and/or other types of particles are provided. The systems may have tabs which extend from orienting disks and/or collars and/or spacers which may be disposed on shafts. The tabs may prevent accumulation of strands between disks utilized within an orienting system. For example, the tabs may contact strands and/or other particles and guide or force the particles to be moved past the disks toward successive disks, or onto a screen or conveyor line.
