  • Patent number: 5992497
Abstract: A connection system for interconnecting various components, such as components of an overhead garage door system, is provided which includes, in one aspect, a first component having a pair of spaced apart hook members, an intermediate guide member and a detent extending from a planar body of the first component. A second component includes a pair of spaced apart apertures which are shaped and aligned to receive the hook members, and an intermediate aperture which is shaped and aligned to receive the guide member upon registration of the first and second components in face-abutting relationship. As the first and second components are translated relative to each other, the detent of the first component engages the intermediate aperture of the second component to thereby establish a connection between the first and second components. Connection of a roller bracket to a door stile of an overhead garage door system is provided by the novel connection system, as well as connection of a door stile to a door panel.

  • Patent number: 5445022
Abstract: A device for measuring a powdered or granular product includes a product receptacle having an open end, a side wall surrounding the open end and a sealing member disposed opposite the open end and coupled to the side wall. The side wall is coupled to the sealing member so that product received in the receptacle can leave the receptacle only through the open end. The device further includes a handle extending, a first end of which is coupled to the side wall so that a consumer of the product may rotate the handle from an initial position for packing the measuring device and the product into the package to a measuring position for measuring desired quantities of the product. When in the initial position, the handle extends from the side wall substantially parallel to the first direction and, when in the measuring position, the handle extends away from the side wall in a direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction.

  • Patent number: 5398376
Abstract: A flexible hinge for releasably joining together display stands, of the type having an elongated frame element having an interior slotted channel. The hinge is composed of at least one resilient hinge element having a central base wall having opposite ends and a pair of arms each joined to an opposite end of the base wall. The arms of the hinge element are slidably insertable in a releasable, friction-fit manner into one of the frame element channels of a pair of adjacent display stands. The hinge element legs flex to generally conform to the configuration of the channel in which they are received and the hinge central base wall extends through the slots of the channels, thereby joining the display stands together.

  • Patent number: 5371924
Abstract: A hinge for use with a picture frame and a set-up base, includes first and second hinge leaves, each hinge leaf having claws, the claws of the first hinge leaf for fastening the first hinge leaf to a picture frame and the claws of the second hinge leaf for fastening the second hinge leaf to a set-up base. A hinge joint is disposed at first ends of the hinge leaves, configured of knuckles through which a hinge wire passes for connecting the first and second hinge leaves to one another. A connecting web is movably articulated to the first hinge leaf at an end edge of the first hinge leaf opposite the hinge joint. When the hinge is in an opened position, the connecting web is arranged at an angle to the first hinge leaf and is supported on the second hinge leaf.
