Abstract: A well sealing device using an internal propellant charge to drive slip segments outwardly against a well casing. A pin shears, releasing the device from its wire line prior to final setting of the slip segments.
Abstract: A hanger assembly for suspending an article or articles such as a curtain or other flexible sheet material below a support rail comprises a series of trolleys for travelling engagement with the support rail, each trolley including a downwardly depending hanger member for suspending the article. Collapsible links are provided between successive trolleys in the assembly to allow them to travel relatively easily around any corners or bends in the support rail.
Abstract: This invention relates to a vertically drawn shower curtain having a raised position and a lowered position and being movable therebetween, for preventing water from escaping from a shower enclosure. The shower curtain is composed of waterproof panels, flexible hanging straps, clamps, and drawstrings. In the lowered position, the hanging straps support the panels in an inwardly overlapping relationship. The hanging straps are attached to the upper edge of each panel, leaving the lower edge free to rotate inwardly. The hanging straps have guides for the drawstrings. The drawstrings are attached to the lowest panel, are lead through the guides, and then through an eyelet on the clamp. All drawstrings terminate in a single pull ring. In the raised position, the panels are supported in a substantially nested relationship, by the combination of the drawstrings and clamps. The shower curtain may also include a valence panel, supported by the clamps, to hide the workings of the drawstrings and the clamps.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improvement in the supports for draperies, curtains, and the like, and more particularly, to improvments in the supports for coverings of bay windows wherein multiple treatments of the bay window can be achievewd by a compact unit which is capable of being installed easily and which can adjust to the particular requirements of the windows and do so in a manner which will not detract from the various treatments, and which is inexpensive in construction.
Abstract: A motor-driven curtain-operating unit for horizontally slidable curtains or the like comprises an elongate support (2) forming a channel (3) having two channel sections (3a, 3b) laterally separated by a longitudinally extending central wall, each channel section (3a, 3b) housing a respective run of a closed loop chain (4) one end of which loop passes over a sprocket (5) driveable by a remotely controllable motor (6) and the other end of which passes over a pair of return rollers (20) at the other end of the elongate support (2) from the motor (6). Curtain displacement carriages (10), attachable to a movable edge of a curtain, are slidable in the channels (3a, 3b), and each incorporates a sleeve portion (11) through which the chain (4) can pass to form a connection between the chain (4) and the carriage (10).
Abstract: A supporting structure by which the line curtain in a mine ventilation system can be extended in a cantilevered fashion from the last permanent roof support adjacent the working face of the mine so that the free edge of the extended line curtain will be adjacent the working face of the mine to assure that the face area where the mining is being done will be kept properly ventilated and free of dangerous gases and the like.
Abstract: A pair of horizontally extending curtain rods for bathroom stalls comprising a mechanism whereby the rods are each supported by end brackets which are adapted to be force-fitted against the walls of the stall to retain the pair of rods in tight engagement with the side walls of the stall. One of the pair of rods is employed primarily to support a conventional shower curtain suspended therefrom whereas the other of the rods supports a decorative curtain extending from the rod to a position closely adjacent the floor of the stall.
Abstract: A pivotal baffle disposed above or behind drapes so as to define a closed chamber with the walls, windows and drapes when the drapes are drawn to their closed position; thereby preventing room air from circulating past the windows.
