  • Patent number: 6499709
Abstract: The bracket comprising an L-shaped mount defined by perpendicular plates having top and bottom bridging walls apertured in vertical alignment, the bottom wall formed with a blocking surface. The bracket also comprises a leaf plate having aligned upward and downward ears which pivot in the respective apertures, and the dimensions of the plate permit some vertical movement of the plate so that it can clear the blocking surface. The plate has a perpendicular flat tongue adapted to slip into a slot at one end of the shade to immobilize a portion of the power unit. The blocking surface keeps the plate from swinging open.

  • Publication number: 20020179790
Abstract: A break-away bracket for mounting and supporting window coverings has a mounting base and one or more break-away segments. The segments are interconnected end to end along frangible connections and extend from the mounting base. Each of the one or more break-away segments has a support element extending from one end. A most distal one of the support elements is exposed for supporting or mounting window coverings. Upon removal of the most distal one of the break-away segments or removal of more than one of the segments, a next adjacent one of the support elements becomes exposed for supporting or mounting window coverings.

  • Patent number: 6460593
Abstract: An adjustable-width spring-operated roller shade that maintains proper orthogonal tracking at all available widths within the shade's range of width adjustment. The adjustable-width roller shade utilizes two overlapping window shades and a telescoping roller to provide a shade that is repeatedly width-adjustable within its original range of width adjustment. To keep the shade sufficiently perpendicular to the roller as the shade winds onto the roller, orthogonal tracking spacers, such as continuous, pliable strips constructed from the same material as the shades, are attached to non-overlapped portions of the shade material to compensate for the extra layers of material existing at the overlapped portion of the shades. Thus, the roller shade maintains proper orthogonal tracking of the shade at all available widths within the shade's range of width adjustment.

  • Patent number: 6361229
Abstract: A paper roll supporting device for an image forming apparatus includes a pair of flange members to be inserted into opposite ends of a paper roll. Each flange member includes a flange body made up of a flange portion and a cylindrical support portion that is to be inserted into a tubular core included in the paper roll. A claw member has a plurality of claws capable of protruding from the outer circumference of the support portion. A biasing member exerts a pressure on the claw member. Pressing means is slidable in a direction in which the biasing member is compressible. The pressing means receives one end of the biasing member and contacts the inner circumference of the support portion. A lock/release lever is capable of being brought down for causing the pressing means to slide. The claw member causes its pawls to flare in the radial direction when pressed in the axial direction of the support portion. The device with this configuration can be easily locked to the paper roll.
