Abstract: A bearing arrangement for a centrifugation injection mold, comprising an upper mold portion (10) and a lower mold portion (20), which are respectively and rotatively mounted to an upper bearing (30) and to a lower bearing (40), the latter comprising: a first flat ring (41) affixed to a machine structure (E) and presenting a radial gap that is internal in relation to the lower mold portion (20); an annular cage (42) bearing spheres (44) seated on the first flat ring (41), said annular cage (42) presenting radial gaps that are external and internal in relation to the machine structure (E) and to the lower mold portion (20), respectively; and a second flat ring (45) inferiorly seated on the spheres (44) of the annular cage (42) and maintaining radial gaps that are external and internal in relation to the machine structure (E) and to the lower mold portion (20), respectively, axially bearing the latter.
Abstract: A spin cast die assembly includes a casing, an insert and an end cap assembly for retaining the insert against an annular shoulder within the casing. The end cap assembly has a mounting ring attached an end of the casing. The mounting ring receives a flyweight ring which engages an end of the insert and which pivotally supports a plurality of flyweight members which are mounted radially internally with respect to the mounting ring. The mounting ring has an annular flyweight engagement surface which faces generally radially inwardly and towards the shoulder. As the assembly is spun, the inner ends of the flyweight members pivot radially outwardly. The flyweight members thereby cooperate with the flyweight engagement surfaces of the mounting ring to cause the flyweight ring to move axially towards the insert and thereby force the insert against the shoulder.
Abstract: The centrifugal casting mold is a divided-type mold which can be set in a continuous centrifugal casting apparatus for producing annular or cylindrical cast articles and which can process them automatically and rapidly. It is easy to remove cast articles out of the core mold because the core mold halves are usually separated by compression springs when the mold is in a stationary state, and that the such divided core mold halves are integrally combined for centrifugal casting by utilizing centrifugal force automatically generated during the rotation of the mold.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for casting steel slugs which utilizes a measured charge of molten steel discharged centrally of a rotating table having radial channels to distribute the metal rapidly to circumferentially-spaced, individual, trunnion-mounted receptacles at the end of each channel. The receptacles are designed to have a center of gravity outside the trunnion axis when empty, and inside the trunnion axis when charged. After a predetermined cooling period, a mechanical latch release allows the rotating, loaded receptacles to dump radially to a suitable conveyor and the cycle may be repeated.
Abstract: A device adapted for the production of a hollow body with an extension in a built-up metal mould provided with lining. The spinning axis of the built-up metal mould is essentially coaxial with the mould longitudinal axis owing to which the filling of the cavity provided in said mould with molten metal causes a progressing unbalance of the device. For offsetting this unbalance provision is made for a movable weight travelling radially to the spinning axis of said metal mould as the unbalance is being progressed.
