Abstract: A frame having weed pulling apparatus attached thereto is adapted to be attached to a tractor hitch for lifting or lowering the frame. Pairs of pneumatic tires are rotatably mounted along substantially parallel axes. Each of the pneumatic tires has an axle with a sprocket affixed thereto. A chain is arranged to be disposed over a first sprocket and under the next adjacent sprocket, and so forth, for each adjacent sprocket such that each adjacent sprocket and thereby each adjacent wheel will rotate in an opposite direction. A chain lubricating structure is also attached to the frame. Weed guiding mechanisms are provided to prevent pulled plants from being deposited on top of the frame. Two wheels are pivotally attached to the frame in association with hydraulic cylinders.

Abstract: The apparatus for cleaning tuberous plants of this invention comprises a frame, a plurality of digging wheels fastened on the lowermost side of a suitable horizontal framing member at the forwardmost terminal end of the frame, a disk-renk, a belt-renk subassembly, and a discharging subassembly. The disk-renk may include a multiplicity of pentagonally shaped plates fastened on a suitable shaft. The belt-renk subassembly may include a elevating conveyer operable to elevate and to move rearwardly tubers discharged from the disk-renk and a belt-renk disposed parallel to, and substantially beneath, the elevating conveyer, and a upwardly inclined chain conveyer-like belt inclined from its forwardmost terminal end to its rearwardmost terminal end. The chain conveyer-like belt is driven in an upwardly inclined, rearward direction.

Abstract: A root crop harvester having a horizontal cleaning conveyor for conveying harvested roots to one side of the machine while simultaneously removing excess dirt therefrom, and a vertical conveyor for receiving roots from the horizontal conveyor, elevating them and discharging them either into a receptacle alongside the harvester or into a storage tank mounted on the harvester frame. The storage tank has a transversely extending opening in its forward portion disposed directly above the cleaning conveyor, and a floor conveyor selectively operable to move roots lying on the floor forwardly to the opening so that they can gravitate there-through onto the cleaning conveyor to be recleaned.

Abstract: A root crop harvester includes a main frame, a plurality of digger wheels on the front of the main frame, conveyor means supported on the main frame to receive roots from the digger wheels and deliver the same to a transversely extending auger conveyor which moves the roots to a vertical .[.auger.]. conveyor. An additional conveyor mounted on the upper end of the vertical .[.auger.]. conveyor in root-receiving relationship therewith moves the roots laterally upwardly for deposit in a vehicle moving alongside the harvester. The additional conveyor is mounted for lateral movement .[.on.]. .Iadd.at .Iaddend.the upper end of the vertical .[.auger.]. conveyor so that it can be moved inwardly to a transport position.
