With Specific Relationship Of Mast-type Hitch (i.e., Three-point Hitch) To Implement Patents (Class 172/47)
  • Patent number: 4284146
Abstract: A soil working machine pivotably mounts at least one rotor having serrated working elements. The rotor is pivotally connected at each end to a frame beam by a pin which can be inserted into either one of two holes located one above the other. The hole chosen governs the resistance to upward pivoting of the rotor. The machine can be hitched to a tractor either with the frame beam substantially transverse of the intended direction of operative travel, or with the frame beam inclined to this direction. Each rotor has end plates that mount forward blades and the outer plate supports a gear transmission to the rear of the respective blade.

  • Patent number: 4279310
Abstract: A soil working machine has at least one, preferably two rotors, one of which is at a higher working level than the other to achieve a relatively large working depth. The rotors are driven through a drive gear transmission located about midway along the length of the rotors. An adjustable coupling of the machine can be used to establish either one of two positions which are offset about an axis which extends transverse to the normal direction of travel. The transmission includes change speed gears in a first gear box for connection to a tractor p.t.o. and an output of the transmission is geared to a gear wheel housed in a flat gear box, the gear wheel being in driving engagement with pinions on the rotor shafts. The entire frame can be rotated to a limited extent relative to the transmission gear box owing to a flange connection between the two gear boxes and a setting device for their relative positions to one another.

  • Patent number: 4263974
Abstract: A soil cultivating machine has a row of cultivating members journalled in an elongated frame portion. The rear of the machine is supported by elongated rollers positioned side-by-side and pivotable arms interconnect the lateral roller ends to rear plates on the frame portion. The arms and working level of the rollers are settable and beam supports extend from the plates upwardly and forwardly to an apex connection to a trestle top. The trestle is a coupling with points connectable to the three point lift of a tractor.

  • Patent number: 4210209
Abstract: An implement is connectable to the lifting hitch of a tractor and at least one rotary tool is driven to rotate about an upwardly extending axis. The tool or a trestle frame has an overload connection that allows the tool or frame to pivot to an inoperative position upon overload. The tool can be a blade on a carrier part that is pivoted to a support part on a spoke and a shear pin interconnected to prevent such pivoting unless tripped by overload. The parts can have a discharge arrangement that ejects the sheared pin portion from a recess in one part. Upon adjustment of the tool, the pin remainder can effect reconnection. In another embodiment, the trestle frame is coupled to a three point hitch and the implement can be tripped through a pivot connection, including a strut made up of two shaft parts, one of which holds a shear pin and the other receives a pin portion near the junction of the parts. The pin element normally prevents relative pivoting of the implement relative to the tractor connection.

  • Patent number: 4202415
Abstract: A machine for cultivating the soil has a main transverse beam carrying a transverse tool shaft, and a gear box for driving the tool shaft. The beam has a frame for attaching the machine to the conventional three-point hydraulic system of a tractor, the tractor power take-off shaft then being connected to drive the tool shaft via the gear box. To enable the machine to be constructed in various widths and to facilitate its assembly and transportation, the main beam is in two half portions interconnected by the gear box housing. Likewise the tool shaft is in half shaft portions driven by a common, hollow gear box drive shaft. The gear box itself is formed in upper and lower portions, the upper portion of which is interchangeable with a different gear ratio portion to suit different tractor power take-off speeds. The gear box drive shaft has a rearwardly projecting drive shaft portion for driving further equipment to be used in combination with the machine.

  • Patent number: 4148363
Abstract: An implement assembly includes two elongated frame portions with respective coupling members that are linked to one another. Either frame portion can be leading or trailing and in a preferred arrangement, the leading frame portion has tined soil working members that work overlapping strips of top soil while the trailing frame portion has tined tools that work subsoil in non-overlapping paths. A common transmission can be fixed to either respective gear box that rotates the members and the tools. In either arrangment, the transmission is connected to the driving gears for both the members and the tools which can be rotated at different speeds from that of the members. A ground engaging wheel can be positioned at either side of the center of the assembly to bear on ground that is located between neighboring tools and/or members. The member can work paths of soil having different widths from those of the tools.

  • Patent number: 4136741
Abstract: A cultivating implement has an elongated frame portion with a front three point coupling that connects to the three point lift of a conventional tractor. A rear supporting structure for a further implement has spaced apart beams that extend forward to pivots near the lower two points of the front coupling. The structure has interconnected frame beams that are supported on ground wheels and the rear ends of the forwardly extending beams are fixed to vertical frame beams. Rearwardly extending arms are pivoted to the interconnected frame beams and these arms together with coupling plates on an upper tie beam, form a rear three point coupling. The arms are interconnected to the remainder of the structure by adjustable carrier arms. Ground wheels support the structure and a further implement that is connected to the rear coupling.

  • Patent number: 4114695
Abstract: An implement has an elongated frame that extends transverse to the direction of travel and soil-working members rotatably mounted on a portion of the frame that depends from spaced apart, forward and rear frame beams. A coupling assembly having coupling points for auxiliary implements is pivoted to the forward frame beam by two beam members that extend rearwardly and rest on top of the rear frame beam to limit the downward movement of the assembly when the implement is raised. The rear ends of the beam members are connected to a tubular beam and further beams extend rearward from the tubular beam. A transverse beam interconnects the further beams centrally thereof and coupling points such as hooks are adjustably connected to plates that depend from the further beams. A central coupling point is fastened to the transverse beam and the further beams are adjustable to vary the width of the assembly.

A coupling member is interconnected at the front of the frame portion for connection to the conventional three-point lifting links of a tractor. The lower two points are formed by spaced apart pairs of plates that have forward slots through which a rod is passed and the lower two links are connectable to the rod.
