Abstract: A power tool includes a variable speed device which can be set in an auto mode or a manual mode. The power tool does not need the user to set the speed when it is operated at the auto mode. The power tool is reset to be the high-speed mode when it is activated. The speed is reduced along with the working load so as to output high torque, maintain the best working efficiency and protect the power tool under the operative status. The power tool can be set to the manual mode so as to work in a single type of function.

Abstract: The invention provides a transmission assembly and a power tool. One form of the power tool includes a rotatable driven member for releasably gripping and rotating a working element and a transmission assembly for transmitting rotation from a motor to the driven member. The transmission assembly includes a rotatable input shaft and first and second rotatable output shafts. In a first speed setting the input shaft is selectively lockable together with the first output shaft so that the locked input shaft and first output shaft rotate in unison to drive rotation of the driven member at a first speed of rotation relative to a speed of rotation of the motor. In a second speed setting the input shaft is selectively lockable to the second output shaft so that the locked input shaft and second output shaft rotate in unison to drive rotation of the driven member at a second speed of rotation relative to the speed of rotation of the motor.

Abstract: A power tool having a gear speed reducing mechanism which is free of backlash and a planetary gear speed reducing mechanism. The planetary gear speed reducing mechanism has a driving-side member that is rotationally driven by a prime mover, a driven-side member which is rotatably and coaxially disposed with the driving-side member and to which a tool bit is coupled, and an intervening member which is disposed between the driving-side member and the driven-side member. The intervening member is configured as a planetary member and at least caused to rotate by frictional force acting on its contact surface in contact with the driving-side member when the driving-side member is rotationally driven, so that torque of the driving-side member is transmitted to the driven-side member at reduced speed.

Abstract: A non-vibration output device in reverse rotation includes a movable ratchet gear, a stationary ratchet gear having ribs and a locking member having pawls. Each rib has an inclined surface. The locking member is move to control the engagement or disengagement between the pawls and the ribs. When the pawls are not engaged with the ribs, the stationary ratchet gear is rotatable. The output shaft can rotate in two directions. When the pawls are engaged with the ribs, the stationary ratchet gear is fixed. The movable ratchet gear rotates in the forward direction and interference happens between the movable ratchet gear and the stationary ratchet gear to generate axial vibration. When the movable ratchet gear rotates in the reverse direction, the stationary ratchet gear is disengaged from the movable ratchet gear so that no axial vibration is generated.

Abstract: A multi-functional tool is provided including a drive unit and one or more operating members. Each operating member includes a plurality of coupling features configured to be coupled with a plurality of drive unit coupling features. The interaction between the drive unit coupling features and the coupling features of the operating member determines the type of planar motion in which the operating member moves relative to the drive unit when the multi-functional tool is in operation. This motion may be orbital, sagittal, or reciprocal. The motion provided by the drive unit to an operating member may be changed by replacing one operating member coupled to the drive unit with another, different operating member. In some exemplary embodiments, at least three operating member are provided and each operating member is configured to be moved with one of orbital, sagittal, or reciprocal motion.

Abstract: A work machine equipped with an automatic hammering function is capable of preventing breakage of the hammer caused by blank firing. Hydraulic oil fed to a hydraulic breaker at the distal end of a work machine is controlled by first and second spools. Operating an operation lever so as to contract single rod type boom cylinders to press the hydraulic breaker against an object to be crushed. Head-side pressure and rod-side pressure of the boom cylinders are respectively detected by pressure sensors. Any one of switches is used to switch the mode of automatic hammering operation between an automatic hammering inhibiting mode and an automatic hammering authorizing mode. In the automatic hammering authorizing mode, a controller controls the first and second spools of the hydraulic breaker so as to open them only when head-side pressure and rod-side pressure of the boom cylinders are in a given range of pressing force.
