Comprising Device, Mechanism, Or System For Either Repositioning A Movable Or Removable Closure Member Or Operating A Fastening Device Therefor Patents (Class 180/289)
  • Patent number: 4450390
Abstract: A circuit arrangement for a reversible electric motor supplied from a voltage source, which motor drives a combined window-lifter and door-locking installation in motor vehicles. The motor is switched on by way of a first operating switch developed as a reversing switch and by way of a second operating switch serving as a central switch. A position switch is assigned to the motor and is developed as a two-way switch which is operated by the motor. When the window is completely closed, the position switch may be changed over from a first switching position into a second switching position and after an unlocking operation, or before the window is opened, the position switch may again be changed over from the second switching position into the first one. During a locking operation the second input of the position switch is applied to a pole of the voltage source other than the pole used during the other adjusting operations.

  • Patent number: 4427929
Abstract: A synchronizing circuit for a combination window and door locking system for automotive vehicles. During normal operation the door's are locked and unlocked by continued rotation of the window lifter motor. If the door locks have been manually operated between motorized operations, the locked and unlocked positions of the door locks can become out of synchronization with one another. The synchronization circuit utilizes and interconnected series of switches, position-sensitive switches and relays to control the window lifter motors. During a locking operation, the circuit automatically sequences the lifter motors first through an unlocking operation and then into their door locking positions.

  • Patent number: 4428024
Abstract: An electronic door locking system for an automotive vehicle with which vehicle doors can be locked, by depressing a proper push-button type switch representative of a predetermined door-locking octal digit, only when an ignition key is not left in the ignition keyhole. Therefore, it is possible to lock vehicle doors without leaving the ignition key in the keyhole, with the result that the vehicle can be prevented from being stolen by a thief when parked. The electronic door locking system according to present invention includes a device for detecting the presence of the ignition key left in the ignition keyhole and outputting a signal to inhibit a door-locking command signal from being applied to a door lock actuating solenoid, in addition to the conventional electronic door locking system.

  • Patent number: 4372419
Abstract: Our invention describes a device adapted to provide a vehicle with two or more doors, with an Anti-theft Locking System that will prevent the unauthorized opening of one or more of the doors even if the original equipment locks are open, or forcibly opened. An electro-magnet with dual polarities, mounted inside the door panel, facing toward the post, having an actuator shaft, that, when activated by the flow of current, will engage a receptacle within the post, thereby locking the door permanently until deactivated. A key switch, mounted on the outside of the vehicle body, preferably in an unobvious place, two contact points, and a neutral point for key disengagement, using the vehicle battery as a source of power, will provide current to move the shaft of the electro-magnet into or out of the receptacle; thereby activating or deactivating the system.

  • Patent number: 4278922
Abstract: An assembly which is to be used for generating adjustment movements on automobile ventilation devices driven by electric motors. The assembly is especially designed for use on roof openings or sunroofs closeable by a lid. The assembly is characterized in that a generator is coupled to a component of the automobile which revolves during traveling and the rotational speed of which is directly proportional to the speed of travel. A control signal directly proportional to the speed of travel is obtained from the generator by means of which the adjustment drive for the ventilation device can be switched on according to the speed of travel. The adjustment drive can be switched on in the direction of closing the ventilation device at a higher speed and in the direction of opening at a lower speed.

  • Patent number: 4273027
Abstract: A pneumatic actuating arrangement for to and fro movements, especially of a central locking system for motor vehicles, with an excess pressure source and with a vacuum source and with at least one pneumatic working device whose working chamber is adapted to be selectively connected to the excess pressure source or to the vacuum source by way of a shifting valve shiftable between two end positions. An intermediate for the shifting valve is provided in which position the shifting valve becomes temporarily effective during the transition from the one end position into the other end position so that the working chamber is conected to the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 4270371
Abstract: A device for unlocking and locking of doors, particularly of motor vehicle doors, with a pump delivering low pressure and high pressure, the outputs of which are connectable via a two-way valve which is actuatable upon each unlocking and locking operation, respectively, with pneumatic positioning elements which act on the door locking mechanism and with electrical switches for switching the pump respectively on and off via a reversing switch, the electrical switches being actuatable by means of a door key and arranged in the several, lockable doors, the reversing switch being able to be switched-over by means of a delayed-responding actuating means. An additional pneumatic positioning element is provided as the delayed-responding actuating means, which additional positioning element is connected to an output of the two-way valve. The two-way valve and the reversing switch are actuatable by means of the additional positioning element.

  • Patent number: 4240516
Abstract: A solid state vehicle securing and lockout prevention system for an automobile having power operated accessories such as automatic door lock, power door windows, power roof window, power trunk release, power hood release, power antenna control, and a horn selectively identifies authorized users to enable operation of the ignition, prevents lockout of the operator, and secures the vehicle and its accessories upon departing from the vehicle. A card reader for use with encoded cards is utilized to enable the system. A mechanical switch at the ignition assembly is utilized to detect the presence of the key in the ignition for lockout prevention by reopening any locked door and sounding the horn to alert the operator should the key remain in the ignition inadvertently. The mechanical door switches are utilized to determine whether to activate the vehicle securing controls for the door locks, windows, and sunroof in timed sequences.

  • Patent number: 4186710
Abstract: An anti-theft device for an automotive vehicle or any internal combustion engine turned over by a starter, in which electrical energy is connected to the starter only at such times as several rotatable digital members are arranged in selected positions. The digital control means may be positioned in either of two alternative coded positions to energize the starter depending upon the position of a hidden switch which the user manipulates according to the particular code he desires. The digital means are connected to the starter such that an unauthorized "hot wire" creates a short circuit for the thief. Similarly, the ignition coil is so wired as to provide a short circuit if the thief should attempt to hot wire the ignition coil.
