  • Publication number: 20140262612
Abstract: A modular ladder includes interconnectable segments that have utility conduit sections fixed thereto. The conduit sections interconnect to form a utility conduit when the ladder is assembled, thereby allowing safe use of a utility at any ladder height, without the inherent risks and inconvenience of providing a separate conduit. The conduit sections are separated when the ladder is disassembled, thereby saving time, effort, and storage space. In various embodiments, the modular ladder can be configured as any of a step ladder, single ladder, articulated ladder, combination ladder, extension ladder, fixed ladder, mobile ladder stand, and ladder stand platform, among others. Angle-adjusting accessories can enable assembly of the modular ladder in free-standing configurations. Addition of various accessories can provide casters, tilt stabilizers, and trays optimized for various tasks, thereby allowing a user to purchase accessories to expand the modular ladder's capabilities over time.

Abstract: A suspended scaffolding system (100) including a connector system (32,33) adapted to engage a track (31) which in use is in contact with the surface of a structure (30), an arm (34, 39) connects the suspended scaffolding system to the connector system, so in use the suspended scaffolding system is suspended below the structure. In a first embodiment, the connector system has connectors that permit relative movement with respect to the track in two orthogonal planes. In a second embodiment a moveable counterweight (37) is provided on the suspended scaffolding system, adapted to be displaced from a first position to a second position to change the centre of gravity of the suspended scaffolding system. In a third embodiment, a track connector system is provided comprising at least three fasteners each of which is in contact with the track and adapted to be temporarily removed from the track to permit the suspended scaffolding system to negotiate obstacles.

Abstract: Methods, systems and apparatuses for providing high electrical resistance for an upper control assembly (including control handles) of an aerial lift are provided through an isolation member that is integral to the upper control assembly and interposed between fluid lines in the control assembly and a set of fluid conduits that extend from the control assembly towards other portions of the aerial lift. The isolation member is a dielectric element that comprises a manifold that is made of material that is substantially electrically non-conductive, and that has a plurality of through-holes or hoses configured to allow hydraulic fluid to flow through the isolation member into and out of the fluid lines and conduits. These methods, systems and apparatuses are preferably used in upper control assemblies of aerial platforms that can carry one or more operators in order to prevent such operators from electrocution when controlling the lift.

  • Publication number: 20130319794
Abstract: The disclosed adjustable ladder support mechanism solves the problem of unstable extension ladders with a mobile base that can be moved by one man, the base then expanded in both length and width. With the stable base set up, the ladder can be extended, the angle adjusted, and the operator can safely climb the ladder. Worries of the ladder slipping sideways off the ledge against which it is leaned are eliminated. The adjustable ladder support mechanism has two main sections: the base, which provides stability, and the tower, which raises the ladder above the ground.
