Head Coverings Patents (Class 2/171)
  • Patent number: 7437777
Abstract: The modified head covering has a cap portion that resembles typical head caps, as well as a pouch portion attached to the rear of the cap. This head covering allows a user having long hair to safely conceal his or her hair within the pouch portion at the rear of the head covering. The pouch portion can be cinched tightly into a “sack” or “pouch” shape through the use of a ribbon, an elastic band, or other devices. Once the pouch portion is constricted, the hair is safely concealed and kept off of the nape of the neck. The head covering can be made of a variety of fabrics with a number of patterns or colors. The modified head covering is particularly suited to medical personnel working in sterile environments, but it is useful for anyone with long hair who must conceal his or her hair inside a cap.

Abstract: The Koolonu is a combination scarf with a pocket that can be drawn up from the chest over the head to become a headpiece/ear cover. Invert the Koolonu on the head and the pocket becomes a visor. It is new by virtue of the width variation and the manner with which it is folded and sewn at its ends forming a storage pocket. This unique process creates a convertible apparel item for fashion and utility. Made of knitted yarn or any such flexible material, It begins with a square, tapers in equally 45 degrees to the neckband width (50% of square end width). Neckband length (determined by neck circumference) continues then tapers out equally 45 degrees to form a second square of identical size to the first. The squares are sewn together on two sides at 90 degree angles to each other forming the pocket. The Koolonu can be made for any age or gender, of lighter or heavier materials and for dolls, teddy bears or other toys. It can be worn around the neck, ears and head.

Abstract: A head scarf, formed of a main body and a lining, has a crown for covering a wearer's head and a tail that is adapted to hang down from the rear of the crown. The lining has front and rear margin areas attached to the main body. In a central longitudinal plane of the scarf, the length of fabric between the front and rear margin areas is greater, by a differential amount, than the linear distance between the front and rear margin areas to enhance the ability of the scarf to conform to the shape of a wearer's head. Corresponding differential amounts exist in longitudinal planes parallel to and spaced from the central longitudinal plane, and they decrease progressively from a maximum near the central longitudinal plane to about zero in longitudinal planes most distant from the central longitudinal plane. The front margin area of the lining is attached to the front margin area of the body by a convex line of stitching that establishes the differential amounts.

The doughnut style padding places the pivot area of the object off the crown of the person's head and places the pivot area around the outer parameter of the head. This increases the pivot area of the load to equal the circumference of the compressible substance. The larger pivot area increases balance and stability of the load and reduces side loading and thrust on the person's neck which is associated with prior art devices having a centralized load pivot point.

Abstract: A foam body is made in the form if the letter “M”. Side portions of the foam body include confronting, temple engaging, inside surfaces, spaced apart a distance less than the temple—temple width of a person's head. The foam body is constructed from a springable form that stores spring energy when bent and allows the side portions to be sprung apart, and when released to move back towards each other. The side portions of the form body are sprung apart and a person places his/her head between the side portions. Then the side portions are released so that they will spring back towards their static positions and clamp onto the person's head, so as to secure the letter “M” display onto the person's head.

Abstract: The invention relates generally to a cap for use in an event, and more particularly to, a cap that is usually used in various events such as athletic sports, a picnic, etc. A cap according to the present invention has a sunshade 10′ formed at the cap's body 10 made of an inner layer of low foam synthetic resins and an outer layer of Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) or PolyUrethane (PU), and a display element and a plurality of concave-convex or undulating elements formed at a constant interval with respect to each other on a circumference surface of a penetration element 2 formed at the center of the cap's body. Thus, if the cap is put on a head, the concave-convex elements formed at the penetration element are latched on the head, the cap can be prevented from taking off by a severe wind and marks or characters representing the even can be displayed to promote an event atmosphere.

A belt member is slidably received through the tubular cap band and adjusts to accommodate the size of the head of the wearer. A crown member of a partial hemispherical shape has an equator region attached to the tubular cap band. In one embodiment, the opposed ends of the belt member include mutually engageable closure devices for joinder to accommodate the wearer's head. In another instance, the belt member is continuous and composed of flexibly expansible material. In still another instance, an elongated air bladder of resilient rubber-like material is received through the cap band with an air pump connected to the interior of the air bladder to selectively fill the air bladder with air.

The turban stopper 4 can be passed through the eight points between the ring-shaped outer circumference 8 and the ring-shaped inner circumference 9. The shearing rubber 10 is sewn with the ring-shaped outer circumference 8 and ring-shaped inner circumference 9, corresponding to the four sides, left and right, and diagonally from the center of the central line of the cap body 3 made of thin polyamide-Japanese paper blended material. Both the left turban 1 and the right turban 2 are formed by wrapping a thin towel with thin polyamide-Japanese paper blended material wherein, the cap body, left turban and right turban are integrated and are reversible types by which the surface and rear side thereof can be used. Two steps of work for application of permanent treatment solutions can be rationally carried out with only one cap for permanent waves comfortably.

Abstract: The present invention provides a ventable ski hat for enabling a skier to selectively vent body heat, the ventable ski hat essentially comprising a superficial insulative fabric layer, a deep moisture-wicking fabric layer, zipper structure, a mesh fabric layer, and an insulative head band member. Together the superficial fabric layer and the deep fabric layer define a superior vent portion and an inferior crown-receiving portion. The superior vent portion comprises an anterior-superior portion, a posterior-superior portion and a selectively-ventable vent aperture. The zipper structure is located at the vent aperture for selectively venting the vent aperture. The zipper structure is medially aligned along a wearer's head in superior adjacency to the wearer's superior head surface, thus defining an insulative air layer. The zipper structure thus enables the wearer to selectively vent body heat from the insulative air layer.
