Hinge Member Actuated Patents (Class 200/61.7)
  • Patent number: 6689972
Abstract: A high security switch employs cooperative magnets which define the mode characteristics of the switch. The polarities and/or pole orientations between various magnets of the assembly are selected so that momentary or maintain switch positions can be obtained. The switch positions are activated by a key operated plug which causes rotation of an operator arm to a selected position.

  • Patent number: 6667449
Abstract: A switch hinge is described having a first hinge wing, which accommodates a switch operable by a lever, having a second hinge wing and having a shaft which, in the operative position, is non-rotatably connected with the second hinge wing. The shaft, on its circumference, has a switch groove which extends in the direction of the shaft axis and into which an operating pin connected with the lever dips in a predetermined swivelling position between the two hinge wings. In a preassembled condition, in which the operating pin rests in the switch groove, the shaft is secured by a lock against rotation with respect to the first hinge wing, and the second hinge wing is freely swivellably with respect to the shaft. A screw screwed into the face-side end of the first hinge wing axially displaces the shaft by a predetermined extent out of the preassembled position into the operative position.

  • Patent number: 6653581
Abstract: A device for closing the door of an electric household appliance, in particular a dishwasher, includes a latch that is fitted in rotary manner to the door to cooperate with a catch fixed to the electric household appliance, and is connected to a switch, acting on a circuit of the electric household appliance, by a control lever cooperating with a contact on the switch. The control lever is hinged directly to a support fitted integrally to the door, and is connected to the latch by an elastic element, which keeps the control lever resting permanently on the contact and activates the switch as soon as the latch begins rotating when the door is opened, thus eliminating any dangerous delay in stoppage of the electric household appliance.

  • Patent number: 6600113
Abstract: The present invention is a sensing edge for causing a closing door to open by actuating a device upon application of force to the sensing edge. The sensing edge, adjacent to a leading edge surface of the door and compressible upon application of external pressure, includes an elongate outer sheath with a first wall. The first wall and an inner wall, having a first aperture, define a first cavity. A top wall, having a plurality of top wall apertures, extends generally parallel to and is spaced from and secured to the inner wall, defining a second cavity. A sensor is positioned within the first cavity for detecting an external force applied to the sheath. At least one electrical conductor is in electrical communication with the sensor, extending through the first aperture, along the second cavity, and through any one of the top wall apertures for connection with the control device.

  • Patent number: 6548774
Abstract: A device for switching an electric connection, especially a hinge switch includes a pin that can be actuated form outside the device. The device further includes an actuator arranged on the pin and interacting with a switch that switches the electric connection once a switching point is exceeded. The device allows the switching point to be adjusted and readjusted simply and permanently with relatively few constructive elements. The actuator is displaced in a radial and/or an axial direction in relation to the pin by an adjusting device in such a manner that the switching point can be adjusted to a given angel position of the pin.

  • Patent number: 6506987
Abstract: An improved magnetic switch (10) is provided which is designed for use in an alarm circuit (52) in order to detect relative movement between first and second members such as a door (14) and frame (12), so as to signal unauthorized opening of the door (14). The switch (10) includes a switch assembly for mounting in frame (12) and having first and second switch elements (40, 42), a permanently magnetized, shiftable body (44) adjacent the elements (40,42), and a first attractive component (36). Additionally, the switch (10) has a second attractive component (22) for mounting to the door (14), which is in the form of a ferromagnetic component such as a permanent magnet (50) or steel plate (60). In use when door (14) is closed and circuit (52) is armed, the magnetic attraction between body (44) and component (22) shifts the body (44) to a switch-closed position in simultaneous contact with the switch elements (40, 42).

  • Patent number: 6479772
Abstract: A safety shut off mechanism for a sealing machine includes a housing having a front board, and a door panel rotatably secured to the front board and rotatable between an outward position, an inner position, and an intermediate position. A switch member may be attached to either the board or the door panel and may be actuated when the door panel is disengaged from the intermediate position or moved inward or outward toward the outward position or the inner position, so as to shut off the sealing machine when the door panel is not in the intermediate position.
