Abstract: A preferred form of slip sheet (62) for use between layers (L) of containers, especially bottles (20), in a palletised load, comprises a rectangular board (63) having marginal portions (34) formed with corrugations (65, 66) extending perpendicular from their edges and merging into the general plane of the board (63), whereby, in use, a ‘throat’ (TD) is formed between the upward corrugations (66) on a lower slip sheet (62) and the downward corrugations (65) on an upper slip sheet (62) which prevents ‘walking’ of the outermost rows of bottles (20) in the intervening layer. Curved corners of the board (63) are provided with diverging corrugations (65X, 66X) to prevent ‘walking’ of bottles (20) from the corners of layers (L). A plurality of such slip sheets (62) can be stacked compactly and with great stability by virtue of the corrugations (65, 66) nesting in the corrugations of neighbouring slip sheets.

Abstract: A palletized shipping container (10) for bulk handling of liquids and fluent materials has a collapsible inner bag (30) enclosed in a flexible outer liner/bag (11) having rigid stiffener panels (20) in pocketed sides. The inner bag has a bung at its top end for filling or discharge and a valve fitment (50) near the bottom for receiving a discharge valve. Tape tabs (34, 19) at upper ends of the inner bag and outer liner/bag attach to the top panel and/or stiffener panels to maintain the bags in an erect uncollapsed configuration. The stiffener panels prevent bulging of the inner bag and provide vertical support, but their lateral sides are spaced apart and form non-structural “floating corners” to maximize volume, minimize shock, vibration and abrasive forces on the inner bag, yet maintain impact and compression strength meeting international certification standards. The bung is disposed beneath the top panel after filling the bag to prevent access and provide a tamper resistant assembly.

Abstract: A pallet for packing a glass plate include a base part which is disposed at a bottommost portion, for supporting from below a plurality of glass plates piled one upon another in an upright posture, and has a fork insertion portion for insertion of forks of a forklift. The pallet also has a backside part rising from a rear side of the base part, for supporting the glass plates from a rear thereof, and a pedestal part mounted in engagement with at least one of the base part and the backside part so as to receive bottom side portions of the glass plates, in which a lowermost portion of the pedestal part is set lower than a substantial top surface of the base part.

Abstract: A shipping optimization process for articles having a substantially airfelt free absorbent core is provided. The process includes the steps of identifying an optimized diaper; identifying an optimized bag for holding two or more optimized diapers; identifying an optimized box for holding two or more optimized bags; identifying an optimized pallet and arranging the optimized boxes thereon; and identifying an optimized load plan for a vehicle and arranging the optimized pallets therein. The vehicle has a calculated Load Factor of from about 0.7 to about 1.0 when the vehicle is loaded with the optimized pallets.

Abstract: A cradle for use with a load-bearing pallet and a shipping container is disclosed and comprises a support portion, an arresting portion and a base portion. The support portion, in use, is disposed beneath and supporting the pallet. The pallet, in use, is disposed in the container between the container sides. The arresting portion, in use, arrests horizontal sliding motion of the pallet relative to the support portion. The base portion, in use, is disposed on the floor of the container and spreads the load of the pallet, the support portion and the arresting portion over the floor of the container to within the capacity of the container. The base portion further is adapted to permit the pallet to be deposited onto and removed from the support portion by the truck using the rear doors of the container. A method for shipping steel coils using the cradle is also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an assembly formed by a box and a pallet for storage and/or transport of varied loads, capable of optimizing the use of useful space available thereto, thus keeping their stability and safety. The box enables the placement of loads, the pallet being capable of supporting the box and said loads. In this assembly, the box is associatedly arranged on the pallet by means of its lower portion, preferably in a removable manner.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a pallet container for storage and transportation of liquids, comprising a liquid container (12), a cage (13) that encloses the container and a pallet (14) with said cage mounted thereto, the cage (13) comprising a plurality of vertical (19) and horizontal (18) tubular bars connected together by welded joints formed at respective intersections (20) between the bars. At least some of said bars (19) comprise indents (22), which are at a distance from said intersections (20) that is substantially equal to or longer than the width of the bars (19, 21).

Abstract: A runner for pallets includes a cardboard sheet folded to include a first portion forming an M shape, a second portion folded across the M shape to form two closed triangles, and a third portion folded around the M shape including sections along and adjacent a first outer leg of the M shape and across the M shape and along and adjacent a second outer leg of the M shape. Adhesive bonds the third portion to the first and second portions. The arrangement forms a beam of sufficient structural rigidity to support the vertical and horizontal “abuse” often received by pallets. Notches for fork lift tines are cut into the length for matching a typical location of the fork lift tines. A pallet includes a deck such as cardboard or other material, and three runners attached to a bottom of the deck.

The four side walls of the enclosure box rest on the lower base sheet while surrounding the upper base sheet to position the first pair of opposed side flaps outside the enclosure box, and the second pair of opposed side flaps inside the enclosure box. The set of fasteners fastens the enclosure base to the enclosure box.

The enclosure box rests on the pallet to enclose the article therewithin, and includes a top wall, first and second pairs of opposite side walls, an open bottom, and a first set of through-holes. The enclosure base lies between the article and the pallet to hold the article. Abstract: A pallet container includes a bottom pallet, a lattice frame, and a multilayer inner container made of thermoplastic material by a blow-molding technique and received in the lattice frame, for storing and transporting liquid fill material. The inner container has an exterior layer which is configured to be incapable of permanently retaining an electrostatic charge by allowing electric charges to be drained. The exterior layer contains an antistatic compound and has a layer thickness which does not or only insubstantially change a transparency or translucency of the exterior layer, allowing easy optical detection of a fill level of the liquid fill material in the container. The exterior layer includes a fusible, easily stretchable thermoplastic material (polymer). At least one of a center layer and an interior layer of the multilayer container includes a cold-impact-resistant HDPE material (High Density Polyethylene) with a high molecular weight.

Abstract: The load securement apparatus, system, and method includes a pallet onto which freight can be loaded and a shroud for surrounding the freight on the pallet. The system and method can also include a drop down void filler for filling space wherein the drop down void filler can be positioned along a longitudinal plane of the transportation vehicle between two pallets loaded with freight. Panels, such as, for example, honeycomb panels, can be positioned both along a transverse plane of the transportation vehicle as well as a longitudinal plane of the transportation vehicle. Bulkhead panels can also be positioned along a transverse plane of the transportation vehicle between two pallets loaded with freight and can fill space and further secure the freight. Additionally, an airbag can be positioned along a transverse plane of the transportation vehicle between two bulkhead panels and can also fill space and secure the freight.

The top of the support frame and the exterior jacket are attached to the corner legs and center legs by the tubular rivet connection that has a tubular rivet stem connected to a first component; the tubular rivet stem is formed as a monolithic part of the first component or is a separate part welded to the first component. A second component to be riveted to the first component has a rivet hole. A free end of the tubular rivet stem that projects past the second component after insertion into the rivet hole is deformed to a driven head.

Abstract: The present invention is embodied in a packaging assembly for both economical and safe shipping, display and advertising of a plurality of products, comprising a plurality of products stacked upon a pallet and a plurality of side panels affixed to the pallet. The front and rear walls are shorter to provide access to products stored on the tray when in a stacked configuration. The trays provide audible feedback when one tray is slid on another when they are properly aligned during a blind stacking operation to confirm the proper alignment. Abstract: A liquid sample or liquid reagent reservoir kit employs a reusable reservoir base and disposable liners made of a clear transparent plastic material. Graduation marks are located on the sidewall surface of the basin in the reusable reservoir base, and are calibrated to measure liquid volumes in a disposable liner placed within the reusable reservoir base. The transparency of the clear disposable liner allows the liquid volume graduation marks on the sidewall of the basin in the reusable base to be observed through the disposable liner. The disposable liners are configured so that the liners can also be used as a cover. The geometry of the disposable liners facilitates tight nesting of stacked liners to facilitate shipping as well as storage on the laboratory bench top.

Abstract: A product vulnerable to damage during shipping, such as an automobile windshield glass, for example, is mounted on a support pad and fixed onto the pad by wrapping a stretch wrapping film around the combination of the pad and glass. The borders of the pad extend beyond the borders of the glass so the package containing the glass can be stood on edge, but the edge of the glass is spaced away from the surface on which the package is stood. Thus the glass, secured to the pad, is suspended away from that surface. Multiple packages can be packed into a shipping container and the loaded container can be lifted and transported by a lift truck with lifting forks received in passageways formed in the container by notches in the bottom edges of the support pads. The pads and containers are made of die-cut corrugated fiberboard material although other material might also be used in the practice of the invention.

The bag cassette has structure to receive and hold the dispensing valve in position relative to a dispensing valve opening in the tube, and the fill valve support plate has structure to receive and support the fill valve. The container is attached to a pallet by severable structure, and the fill valve support plate is attached to the tube by severable structure so that the bag assembly can be removed from the container, for easy collapse of the container for disposal or recycling.

Providing wedges within tapered holes facilitates the compression molding of the depth of holes required for adequately supporting the support poles.

Abstract: A Method and Device for solidification of waste liquids and fluids is disclosed, which is particularly well suited to processing radioactive waste fluids. Set forth is a receiving unit or subassembly for housing solidification agent, and one or more manifold units or subassemblies positioned within the receiving unit for providing waste fluid. The subassemblies operate in relation to each other to provide, position and mix solidification agent or polymer with waste fluid so that a dirt-like polymerized waste product is produced and positioned in the container for removal or later safe shipment or storage. Mathematical relationships, in preferred embodiments or aspects are utilized in determining number and sizing of manifold openings, and pressure of waste to be provided, to meet the requirements of waste fluids to be transported through these openings into the receiving unit.

The outer vessel comprises a bucket with a bottom and sloped sides, with a raised circular portion comprising a circular rib to accommodate and guide the inner vessel into position. The inner vessel also comprises a bucket with a bottom and sloped sides; however the inner vessel also comprises a shelf disposed below the rim for holding the grate. The raised circular portion of the outer vessel holds the inner vessel in a central position, while the shelf of the inner vessel prevents the grate from changing position.

Abstract: A container for transport and storage of liquids comprises a pallet and a metal cage of standard dimensions. The container comprises also an inner bag made of plastic material, an outer envelope disposed between the inner bag and the metal cage, and fastened to the metal cage. Abstract: A unitary palletized packaging assembly for securing a packaged article to a wooden shipping pallet is provided. The article is assembled on a paperboard base and then after assembly enclosed in an open bottomed carton and placed on a shipping pallet. The transport base and carton each have bottom flaps that are folded downward and stapled to the sides of the shipping pallet in overlapping fashion to prevent lateral movement of the transport base and packaged article with respect to the shipping pallet. The transport base includes cushioning elements to cushion and support the article.

In an embodiment, a shipping system is provided that includes a frame assembly, a cradle assembly, and a mechanism for simultaneously rotating and translating the cradle assembly relative to the base of the frame assembly. The cradle assembly is connected to the frame assembly, and includes a forward member for securing a forward portion of the transported object (e.g., an aircraft engine) and an aft member of securing an aft portion of the object being transported.

The side board unit further includes a side board and a bottom board. The side board has stop-by-contact section extends from each of side of the side board to engage with the groove of a corner connector. The bottom of the side board engages with the pallet to form a unit, while allowing laying boards to be installed within.
