Abstract: A system for conducting the identification and quantification of micro-organisms, e.g., bacteria in urine samples which includes: 1) several disposable cartridges for holding four disposable components including a centrifuge tube, a pipette tip having a 1 ml volume, a second pipette tip having a 0.5 ml volume, and an optical cup or cuvette; 2) a sample processor for receiving the disposable cartridges and processing the urine samples including transferring the processed urine sample to the optical cups; and 3) an optical analyzer for receiving the disposable cartridges and configured to analyze the type and quantity of micro-organisms in the urine sample. The disposable cartridges with their components including the optical cups or cuvettes are used in the sample processor, and the optical cups or cuvettes containing the processed urine samples are used in the optical analyzer for identifying and quantifying the type of micro-organism existing in the processed urine samples.

Abstract: In many aspects, the systems and methods described herein include mattress assemblies with attached sensory devices. The mattress assembly comprises a mattress core, an attached headboard, a mattress cover at least partially enclosing the mattress core, and at least one customer assistance sensory device attached to at least one of the core, headboard, and cover. The customer assistance sensory device is configured to present at least one parameter of the mattress core or assembly as at least a visual signal. Visual signals may include one or more distinct colors, shapes, or graphic patterns that correspond to one or more parameter of the mattress core or assembly.

Abstract: A combination storage container, scale, and rolling paper dispenser having an airtight storage container, a scale, a rolling paper dispenser, a cigarette roller, a magnifying glass, a light, and a lighter. There is a battery compartment having a plurality of batteries which powers the scale and a digital readout for said scale, as well as a light to illuminate the contents of the storage container. An integrated rechargeable battery and a USB charging port power the lighter. The present combination storage container, scale, and rolling paper dispenser is portable and offers a sleek design which incorporates each of the elements into a single cylindrical profile.

Abstract: Various themed gift card and gift card holder combinations are disclosed. Some embodiments are contained inside a box along with novelty gift items that are themed or otherwise related to the type of gift card contained therein. Other embodiments contain various three-dimensional pop-up structures and other paper engineered constructs that are shaped, decorated and otherwise themed to match an accompanying gift card. And in yet other embodiments, the gift card holders are directed to specific holidays or special occasions with appropriate gift cards included. Each embodiment may include electronic features, such as audio and light. The packaging of gift card and gift card holder combinations is also disclosed.

Abstract: A medical device assembly is disclosed, comprising a medical device, such as a urinary catheter, and preferably having a hydrophilic surface coating, and a package forming a closed compartment around the catheter. The package is formed of at least one sheet of tearable material and comprises a first weld extending along a first side in a first direction of the package and a second weld extending along a second side in a second direction of the package. The first and second directions are different and preferably orthogonal to each other. A tear line is provided in the second weld, and arranged to direct a subsequent tear towards the first weld. Further, the first weld is provided with an inward protrusion, protruding inwardly towards the closed compartment, at a distance from the second weld. A corresponding method of production is also disclosed.

Abstract: A biological sample containment system and a label for a container that includes a first layer having a first readable information portion and a second layer removably attached to the first layer, the second layer having a second readable information portion, is disclosed. In one embodiment, the first layer and the second layer of the label are both formed of a thermosensitive material. In one embodiment, at least a part of the first readable information portion is identical to at least a part of the second readable information portion. The label of the present disclosure allows a portion of the label having readable information to be removed and adhered to a patient record, for example, while a portion of the label having identical readable information remains on the container.

Abstract: The present invention is a container having a label that is embedded in the container and a method of temporarily marking the container over the label. The container is sufficiently transparent to allow indicia formed on the label to be ascertained through a wall of the container. The exterior wall of the container may be written upon with a marker that leaves marks that are erasable from the exterior of the container. A method of producing the container is described.

Abstract: An identifier for a conduit includes a first tag having a body with a first aperture formed therein for receiving the conduit and a first identifying feature, and a second tag having a body with a second aperture formed therein for receiving the conduit and a second identifying feature that matches the first identifying feature. The first tag is attached to the conduit adjacent one end, the second tag is attached to the conduit adjacent another end, and the ends are identified as ends of the same conduit by the matching first and second identifying features.

Abstract: Aspects and techniques of the present disclosure relate to a cable packaging arrangement (e.g., reel-in-box package) including a plurality of tabs appending to the top and bottom portions of the arrangement which are individually shaped to be easily assembled together, respectively, so that the top and bottom portions of the cable packaging arrangement will be closed.

Abstract: A medication system with a medication tray includes a substantially rectangular tray sheet with individual receiving sites, which are separated from each other and run in rows. A plurality of containers of the medication system contain medications which are positioned in the receiving sites such that they are individually removable. Plastic film, which is provided with perforations along the outer contours of the containers, is sealed to the edges of the containers. The tray is a plastic injection-molded part. Each container is individually provided with a plastic film which is sealed to the edge of the container, and which originates from a single flexible plastic film provided with perforations along the outer contours of the containers, which has been welded only along the container edges. The non-welded part of the plastic film forms a foil mesh, which is removed by cutting through it in the area of the perforations.

The present devices include a thermoplastic base member with a grip portion, a distal end region, a first side region extending from the proximal end region to the distal end region, a second side region opposing the first side region, and a cavity configured to contain a packaging solution and a contact lens. The cavity comprises has a bottom wall with a bottom wall perimeter and a sidewall extending upwardly from the bottom wall perimeter to an upper cavity edge defining a cavity perimeter. A plane formed at the intersection of the bottom wall perimeter with the sidewall slopes away from the substantially linear portion of the cavity perimeter.

Abstract: The packages described by this invention all have reduced “head space,” that is, the distance from lid to lens. Packages contain dimples to achieve this reduced head space. Specifically, packages are designed with dimple sag equal to or less than 1.90-mm, or volume displaced equal to or less than 360 ?l. Combined with the existing primary packaging, it has been found that such conditions provide for reduction in folded lens rate during shipping and handling. As well, lenses stored or having an extended time in low head space packages in a “foil down” orientation now have characteristics closer lenses stored in a “foil up orientation.” The packages finally include a foil 3D pattern at a smaller scale than the dimple, by embossing or other methods allowing reduce lens sticking to the foil as well as an added anti-counterfeiting measure.

Abstract: Methods and systems for a drug supply with an associated dosage regimen are described. A plurality of dosage containers are sequentially stored in drug boxes. The dosage containers are associated with a first time of treatment. The drug boxes are associated with a certain recurring time, e.g., morning, afternoon and evening or four boxes associated with four times a day. The entire day is covered by a plurality of drug boxes for treatment. This organizes the drugs such that compliance with complex treatment regimens may be increased. The drugs in each of the dosage containers need not be the same dosage or even the same drugs each time.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including a packing-list-pouch comprising a back sheet and a front sheet attached to a pocket, a protective lip sheet attached to cover a top edge of the front sheet, and a removable release liner attached to an exterior surface of the back sheet via an adhesive coating. The packing-list-pouch may include a flap sheet attached to the protective lip sheet and an adhesive strip configured to fasten a bottom portion of the flap sheet to the front sheet to form a resealable closure over an opening of the pocket and the protective lip sheet.

The spacer is positionable in a select one of a plurality of positions on the base. The spacer and the base contain time indicia such that each of the plurality of positions that the spacer can be placed upon the base corresponds to a different of time indication. The reversible lid includes a cavity on the bottom surface of a lip which mates with a tab on the spacer, such that when the spacer is placed upon the base and the lid is threaded onto the base, the tab secures prevents the removal of the lid from the base without first removing the tab from the cavity, and when the lid is reversed, the tab does not inhibit the removal of the lid from the base.

Abstract: Methods of forming laminating adhesive articles include providing a multi-layer article, and a tool with a structured surface. The multi-layer articles include a substrate, an adhesive layer, and a liner or may just include an adhesive layer and a liner. The multi-layer article is placed between the structured surface of the tool and a support surface and the tool is embossed against the liner by applying pressure or a combination of pressure and heat. The embossing causes the structures on the surface of the tool to distort the liner and the adhesive layer but does not distort the substrate. The distortion in the liner is retained upon release of the applied pressure. Upon removal of the liner from the adhesive layer, the structures on the adhesive layer are unstable, but do not immediately collapse.

Abstract: To provide a packaging for a rivastigmine-containing adhesive patch having excellent temporal stability of rivastigmine, an adhesive patch product including the adhesive patch and a packaging bag, and a method for manufacturing the same. An adhesive patch product including a packaging bag formed from a laminate of at least three layers including an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer film and a rivastigmine-containing adhesive patch housed in the packaging bag and having a residual oxygen concentration of 10% by volume or less in the packaging bag, and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. In addition, a packaging for a rivastigmine-containing adhesive patch formed from a laminate including an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer film and having a residual oxygen concentration of 10% by volume or less therein is provided.

Abstract: A drink container has multiple integrated storage compartments removably secured below an openable chamber configured to receive contents for consumption by a user of the drink container. A top assembly covers the chamber and includes a removable top member, an openable cap and a clip. The drink container also includes a first retaining member and a displaceable base with a second retaining member and an internal storage compartment. In an assembled state, the first and second retaining members secure the storage compartment in an intermediate cavity below the chamber. The storage compartment is separated from the cavity by applying a radially outward disconnection force on the compartment. Once disconnected, the integrated storage compartments can be filled within contents, or the contents of the integrated storage compartments can be added to the chamber for consumption by the user or directly consumed by the user.

Abstract: A comic book case includes a base and a cover configured to compress and secure a comic book in place under frictional pressure such that the book cannot easily shift or slip within the case. Prior art cases that included walls surrounding the top, bottom and side edges of a book typically allowed some free movement or slippage of the book between the walls. This movement or slippage could result in damage such as curling or crinkling of the edges of the book if the case were exposed to a physical shock, such as by being dropped. The base includes a raised base platform and the cover includes a depressed cover platform, which extends towards the base platform to create a space within which the book is securely held.

The outer container has a recess that conforms in its shape to the shape of the inner container, whereby a cavity is formed in the outer container between the outer walls of the outer container and the walls of the recesses. When the containers are filled with flowable materials and are assembled, both flowable materials are isolated from each other and are not miscible. The containers have engageable threads on the mating surfaces so that the inner container can be inserted into the outer container by twisting. The unique feature of the assembly is a provision of one, two, or three locking means for securing the containers in the assembled state.

Abstract: A method for optimizing component type allocation in which multiple component types of components are optimally allocated to an automatic feeder device which automatically loads the component storage tape and a manual feeder device which does automatically load when the automatic feeder device and the manual feeder device are installed installation positions on a common pallet, the method including: a workability evaluating step of evaluating a magnitude of labor in a splicing work for replenishing and connecting a new component storage tape in the manual feeder device for each of component types; and an automatic side allocating step of preferentially allocating component type having large labor in the splicing work to the automatic feeder device. Accordingly, the splicing work can be reduced by effectively using the automatic feeder device, and it can contribute to the improvement of the production efficiency of the board.

Storage of the one or more images and the unique code is facilitated in a database. The one or more images are retrievable from the database based on providing the unique code to the database.

Abstract: A container of consumer goods includes a rigid outer box and a rigid inner box wherein a pull tab is configured to reseal a pre-cut opening in the inner box. The pull tab includes a cover layer larger than the pre-cut opening. The cover layer can be a piece of bundle wrap with a paper layer of the bundle wrap contacting the consumer goods inside the box. The outer box has a hinged lid permanently attached to a connecting tab of the pull tab whereby opening the hinged lid simultaneously opens the pre-cut opening in the inner box by lifting the pull tab. The connecting tab includes adhesive which is partially deadened to decrease adhesion of the connecting tab to the inner box. The pull tab can also include one or more machine readable markings to enhance automated application of the pull tab to an inner box blank during manufacturing of the container.

Abstract: The current invention provides a kit of playing materials. The kit includes an inflatable foil, which is suitable for receiving and containing a gas and for forming a balloon. The foil has a colorable area, which covers the foil at least partially. The kit also includes a set of wax-based coloring agents, which can be applied directly onto the foil. Due to the light-weight properties of the foil, the balloon is floating in the air when filled with helium. In a second aspect, the present invention provides a method for providing one or more colorable balloons.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide drug packaging and methods for producing drug packaging which can be sealed at room temperature and/or without the need for elevated temperatures above room temperature. Many embodiments provide drug packaging comprising pierceable tubing having a capsule shape (also referred to herein as a pierceable capsule and/or pierceable drug capsule) containing a solid drug such as a drug pellet and methods for producing pierceable drug capsules which can be sealed at room temperature.
