Abstract: A sampler device for applying sample material having a supporting base with a hole through its width. A stretchy layer, such a latex, is affixed to the base to cover the hole. A cover protects sample material deposited on the stretchy layer. After removing the cover, a user inserts a finger through the hole, stretches the stretchy layer into an applicator shape, and applies or consumes the sample material.

Abstract: A new absorbent wipe dispensing device for dispensing absorbent wipes to protect a person from germs and infections while using a public toilet. The inventive device includes a wall panel adapted for removable securement to a wall. The wall panel has a lower collar extending from it. The lower collar has open upper and lower ends. A container for holding a supply of absorbent wipes is slidably received within the lower collar. The container has an open upper end for removal of the absorbent wipes. An upper collar is hingedly secured to the lower collar. The upper collar has an open upper end and a closed lower end. The closed lower end of the upper collar has an opening through it to allow for passage of absorbent wipes therethrough.

Abstract: A toilet accessory kit includes a holder with receptacles at opposite ends receiving and holding a toilet brush and a toilet plunger, respectively. A divider extends across the holder to separate the receptacles from one another, and a handle extends from the divider for lifting and carrying the holder and also for storing extra rolls of toilet paper. The brush includes bristles and an elongate narrow pick, with the pick insertable into the jets beneath the rim of a toilet bowl to clean the jets. The plunger has a spherical member with a concavo-convex open end that fits various sizes of drain openings. A depending cylindrical skirt surrounds the concavo-convex open end and acts as a shield to prevent splashing and also forms a secondary seal.

Abstract: A dispenser which is mountable within a bathroom and which includes an interior deodorizing means and which contains a multiplicity of rolled disposable bags wherein the disposable bags include an antibacterial agent contained within their interior and wherein said disposable bags are serially numbered to indicate to the user when the dispenser may need to be refilled with a new roll of disposable bags and furthermore wherein said dispenser provides a hinged slotted top which provides a replacement means for replacing the rolled disposal scented bags. Furthermore the dispensing unit deodorizing means provides a means for placing a small amount of deodorant material on an exterior surface of said disposable bags preventing noxious odors when the bags are placed into a trash container.

Abstract: A package for carrying fluid or powder samples and which is well adapted for application to product packaging or cards using automated equipment, and methods for forming the same. The package may be produced using a support web, a web of double coated tape, a web of transfer tape, or a release liner and a self-adhesive laminate. Unique nip rollers are disclosed for over-laminating the pouches and for guiding the web with pouches thereon for packaging.

Abstract: A cosmetics travel kit includes a case having a rectangular body with a floor and side walls projecting from the floor, a lid having a ceiling and side walls projecting from the ceiling, a stop member projecting inwardly from the lid side wall in spaced relation to the ceiling, and an inwardly facing anchor member; an implement carrier having a panel member and a retainer for cosmetic implements, first and second couplings for releasably holding the panel member in a closed position spaced within the lid for forming an openable lid storage cavity; and a supply of cosmetics selected from the set consisting of shadowing material, blushing material, lipstick, lip liner, coloring powder skin products, and coloring, calcium-bearing coating, and vitamin-bearing coating nail products. Also discloses is a method for grooming a user's fingernails.

Abstract: A casing (100) of the make-up compact-type includes a bottom (101) and a lid (102), the compact bottom (105, 106) receiving in a detachable manner a refill (1) of a product (P) to be packaged. For this purpose, it has at least one arm (105, 106) having a free end (1050, 1060), the arm or arms delimiting, together with the bottom, a cutout (107) in a shape complementary to the shape of the refill (1). A mouth (130) of the cut out 107 is delimited, at least partly, by the free end of the arm or arms. The arm or arms deflect by elastic deformation to allow the refill (1) to be introduced into the cutout (107) through the mouth (130), and close again on the refill (1) so as to hold it tight over at least a portion of its peripheral edge and to hold it in position in the compact (100).

Abstract: An appliance which is entirely, or includes components, formed of a thermoplastics material, e.g., conventional nylon-bristle toothbrushes, may be sterilized by first bringing water contained in a reservoir of an uncovered sterilization tray to, or near, its boiling point by initial exposure to microwave energy. Thereafter, the appliance is placed in the sterilization tray in proximity to the microwave-preheated water. The sterilization tray may then be covered and subjected to an additional (shorter) cycle of microwave energy. During this subsequent microwave cycle, the water in the reservoir boils so that steam fills the covered container and is pressurized to less then about 10 psig (e.g., due to the fluid-tight seal formed by the container's cover). The steam and the microwave energy are sufficient to sterilize the toothbrush bristles.

Abstract: A cosmetic sampler comprising three panels connected to each other via scored hinges. There is an application tip cut into the second or middle panel that extends upward from a first end panel when the middle and first end panels are folded against each other. A single dose of a cosmetic product is deposited on the tip. A third end panel extends from the middle panel and has a hole cut therethrough. The hole directly overlies the tip when the third end panel is folded over the other two panels so the cosmetic is visible through the hole. The sampler is maintained in a folded state where the third end panel overlies the other two panels until the sampler is used. At this point, the sampler is opened and the first end panel is folded back from the middle panel to allow the user to apply cosmetic from the tip directly to their skin.

Abstract: A case is provided for containing a product which is susceptible of deterioration in the air, and more particularly a cosmetic product. The case comprises a base for containing the cosmetic product, a cover articulated relative to the base, a locking device that maintains the cover in a closed position, and two substantially cylindrical, coaxial skirts, with a lower skirt extending from the base and an upper skirt extending from the cover, with the lower skirt capable of being inserted concentrically into the upper skirt when the cover is in a closed position, wherein when the cover is in a closed position the lower skirt is compressed axially and is therefore deformed radially in order to create a sealing contact between the upper skirt and the lower skirt.

Abstract: This invention provides an airtight cosmetic container, which comprises a cover, a base, and a hollow gasket positioned on the cover or the base. As the cover is moved into the closed position, the gasket deforms to a point where the gasket sealingly engages the cover and the base. The gasket surrounds a volatile solvent-containing product, and because the gasket deforms between the cover and the base, a seal is obtained which substantially prevents the loss of the volatile solvent from the product when the container is closed.

Abstract: A new cosmetic carrying case having a removable tray for storing various sizes and shapes of cosmetic containers is disclosed. The device includes a bottom portion and a lid, the lid being hingedly attached to the bottom portion, the bottom portion and the lid forming a storage compartment, a first shelf hingedly and latchedly attached to a lid inside portion, a second shelf fixedly disposed within the bottom portion, the second shelf having an opening formed therein, and a removable tray having a plurality of container receiving apertures formed therein, the removable tray being removably receivable within the opening. The first shelf further includes a pair of spaced apart straps for securing a nail dryer. The second shelf includes a plurality of compartments and a plurality of apertures designed for receiving cosmetic vessels.

Abstract: A compact material storage and dispensing unit for separately storing and dispensing small volumes of substances such as fragrances, creams and lotions. The unit comprises a circular plate which is divided into a plurality of storage cells, each storage cell substantially wedge shaped. The storage cells are disposed around a common center, and each storage cell is bounded by two radial lines which pass through the common center. Each storage cell further comprises a top ply, a bottom ply and impregnated packing sandwiched between the top and bottom ply. The impregnated packing is to be saturated with lotion, fragrance, ointment or any other desired substance. Perforations are formed into the radial lines which bound the storage cells, so that each storage cell may be easily separated from the adjacent storage cell and removed.

Abstract: A baby supplies case and bag/bassinet combination with an openable front flap. Unzipping the flap reveals a shelved case holding diapers and baby supplies. Attached to the lowest shelf by a hinge is a hollow wedge shaped baby wipes container of sufficient length to extend to a cutout in the above shelf where the wide end of the wedge-shaped container rests. The wide end has raised ridges at either end thereof which retain a protective lid in position. In the middle of the wide end is an oval opening which provides access to baby wipes. When this wedge shaped container is rotated downward and the protective lid is slid open, a baby wipe can be retrieved. Due to the wedge shape of the container, it will not impede the removal of objects from the shelf behind. Resting on the middle shelf of the case is a holder for a container of baby powder. When this holder is rotated downwardly, it hangs from supports attached to the shelf on which it was resting.

Each of two interior spaces has its own closure/dispenser (eg. spray fitting or pump), one at each end, so that two different liquids can be contained and dispensed separately in different ways. An outer container space is defined between an outer wall and an inner wall; the inner containing space is inside the inner wall. The inner and outer walls are joined where the neck of the inner-wall container meets the bottom of the outer-wall container. The bottle may include end caps which cover the two closures/dispensers at either end, for a symmetrical, elongated shape somewhat like a cigar. The ends caps may also double as closures.

Abstract: A plurality of packages of dental floss are provided including a plurality of separate elongate enclosures. The enclosures each have a width and a length with the length being at least nine times as great as the width. The separate enclosures are each independently movable from the other enclosures. A piece of dental floss is individually sealed in each enclosure.

Abstract: A mascara applicator and portable packaging unit has a flat handle and at least one tuft of bristles implanted parallel to the plane of the handle. The width of the free end of the tuft of bristles measured along a first direction parallel to this plane is at least equal to a quarter of an arc of the eyelashes. The bristles are capable of loading mascara onto eyelashes along a longitudinal axis of the latter.

Abstract: A combined wrap around carton, bottle and pouf. The package permits display of the bottle and a pouf simultaneously. The bottle is sufficiently rigid to form a portion of the support of the package. The carton includes a central panel having two ends and product receiving structures at each of its ends. In the erected carton, a first product is received within two product receiving apertures and a second product is placed behind the first one. The package is completed with shrink wrap so that the consumer can view the contents of the package.

Abstract: A packaging unit for a product such as mascara includes an applicator and a reservoir provided with at least one wiper. The applicator has a handle and at least one tuft of bristles implanted parallel to the median plane of this handle. The wiper is arranged so as to wipe the bristled part along the axis of the bristles.

Abstract: A dental floss holder has a casing containing a cartridge that is slidable within said casing through various sequential positions. The cartridge contains a plurality of U-shaped segments with each segment containing a length of dental floss held across a mouth of the segment in a taut position. As the dental floss is used, the cartridge can be advanced to extend a first segment beyond the cartridge and sever the first segment from the cartridge. The severed first segment is then discarded and the dental floss in the next segment is used. The method is repeated until all of the segments of the cartridge have been used and discarded and a new cartridge is then inserted into the casing.

Abstract: An article for protectively and discreetly transporting feminine hygiene products, particularly tampons, is provided. The article includes a crush-resistant, moisture-resistant housing. Disposed within the housing is a support member having a plurality of concave channels therein for the reception of tampons and their associated applicators. The support member holds the tampons in a fixed relationship while supporting them from being crushed during transport. The housing includes a decorative exterior layer to minimize embarrassment if the article is viewed in public. The article further comprises a releasably secured cover which may include interior or exterior pockets for the transport of additional items.

Abstract: A perfume sampler comprising a perfume sample support film (1), provided for adhering to a presentation sheet (3), such as of paper, cardboard, at least one perfume sample (5), applied onto the support film (1) under the form of a gel, and a releasable protection film (6) applied on the sample, which protection film leads, upon its retraction from the support film (1), to a removal of the perfume sample (5) from the support film (1) by adhering the sample to the protection film (6) and for enabling in this way the test of the perfume by application on the skin.

Abstract: A cosmetics compact includes a housing for receiving an insert for covering a removable tray contained within the housing. The covering is, preferably, pivotally connected to the housing by way of an articulation. The cover is retained in a closed, preferably, by latches. The latches of the cover are released by a presser element contained, or guided, within the housing which cooperates with the latches of the covering. An insert having a pin is held at its ends by receivers, or depressions, in the housing. The insert is over-reached by a longitudinally-slotted sleeve which is an integral part of the covering. The covering also includes a latching lug which latches into a window of the insert and cooperates with an unlocking surface of a presser element for unlocking, or opening, the cover. The insert holds the tray firmly and also serves to secure the presser element and to lock the cover.

Abstract: A cosmetic sampler with an integral applicator in which the unit dose of cosmetic is screen printed onto a paper base. To prevent off-set of the cosmetic sample and to protect the integral applicator during packaging and handling, a protective thin film overlay is laminated to a perimeter adhesive printed on the paper base around the cosmetic and the applicator. The applicator is glued as a laminate to the base and die cut in a desired shape, flocked to the base and die cut, or flocked into a debossed/embossed well formed in the base with the cosmetic sample screen printed directly thereover. The sampler with integral applicator of the present invention can be used for sampling unit doses of powders, creams, lipsticks, fragrances, pharmaceuticals, lotions, and sundries.

The compartment dividing wall extends inwardly from the front wall to a compartment wall support. The compartment dividing wall separates a first article cell from a second article cell. The first article cell has an opening in the front wall and also has a back intermediate wall. The back intermediate wall is spaced inwardly from and parallel to the back wall by a compartment wall support. The back intermediate wall extends between the first side wall and the compartment dividing wall.

The take-up reel is periodically advanced by a crank in one embodiment to expose a cosmetic sample through the housing aperture. A user places her finger through the aperture to transfer the cosmetic from the strip to her finger and then moves the tape from the supply reel to the next position feeding the used material to the take-up reel within the housing. In a second embodiment, a window over the housing aperture is coupled to a gear arrangement to automatically index the used tape when a spring backed window is closed.

The cap of the container contains a liner which is forced against the lip of the jar, thereby forming an airtight seal. Also disclosed is a compact or other container which need not have an airtight closure but with a cap that is permanently connected to the jar.

The unit is made of transparent molded plastic and has a removable top. The container is molded with an inwardly facing, thin-walled supporting lip which extends along the inner walls near the top of the container where the top rests. A three armed rotating carriage with free spinning wheels at the end of each arm is held in place by a center post at the bottom of the container. The carriage rotates in place on center post which is located on the bottom of the container. A circular plate rests and revolves on the three-armed carriage. The housing of the container includes a molded opening in order to place cosmetics on the revolving plate. The recessed corner molding connecting circular wall to bottom of housing enclosure fits snugly into the bevelled top rim to create interlocking parts which allows the containers to be stacked.

Abstract: A container for a toothbrush of the type having a head with bristles, a handle, and a connecting neck. The container comprises a body sized to contain the toothbrush. A securing clip is provided having two protruding arms. The arms are sized and shaped to frictionally engage a portion of the neck of the toothbrush. The container further includes means for selectively locking the securing clip to a portion of the body so that the toothbrush may be held in place within the container by the securing clip.

Abstract: A new lipstick case for containing a plurality of tubes of lipstick to organize and protect the lipstick while being carried in a handbag or the like is disclosed. The lipstick case comprises a holder formed of resilient transparent plastic (either hard or soft plastic) having a plurality of vertically aligned open-top elongated chambers therein. The chambers each have dimensions to snugly receive an outer protective tube of a conventional cosmetic lipstick. The lipstick is inverted within the chamber such that the base of the lipstick may be readily viewed and easily grasped by a user to withdraw the coloring medium from the protective outer tube while retaining the tube within the chamber. A top closure flap is integrally transversely formed on the holder whereby lipstick tubes contained therein are prevented from inadvertently falling out of the chambers. A fastener for holding the top closure flap closed is also included.
