  • Patent number: 5415514
Abstract: Sheets are stacked in a container substantially open at its front, and which has a pair of sidewalls and an upright back wall having a pair of edges each secured to a respective adjacent edge of the sidewalls. After a stack of sheets is formed within the container by depositing them through the open front of the container, the bottom of the stack or container is supported, and the supported stack and the container are lifted and moved from a first location to a second location. Because of the open front, the container can be slipped from around the stack to leave the stack standing at the second location free of the container.

  • Patent number: 5405021
Abstract: The present invention is a dispenser for dispensing individual pre-formed stacked bags or sheets. The dispenser includes a casing and an anchor plate releasably engaged within the casing. A catch means secured to the underside of the anchor plate engages with a hole in the stack of bags or sheets. The bags or sheets are folded once around the edge of the anchor plate so that the free ends of the bags or sheets project from the mouth of the casing. Individual bags or sheets can be detached at the free end of the stack by pulling the bag or sheet away from the dispenser. Detachment of more than a few bags at a time is made difficult by frictional effects in the stack. An alternative arrangement in which the anchor plate is fixedly mounted to a base is also described.

  • Patent number: 5394997
Abstract: The rack has wire shelves that slide into grooves moulded into the side walls of a plastic body. The free-standing body is hollow, and is formed by rotation-moulding. The body is a very rigid structure, easily able to withstand the usual abuse of a public sales-location. The side-walls extend only half way along the shelves, leaving half the shelves protruding from the side walls, and as a result, although the rack is strong and substantial, the rack is attractive in appearance, and the newspapers are presented for sale in an accessible manner. Notches in the grooves comprise detents whereby the shelves are retained in the grooves.

  • Patent number: 5080236
Abstract: A printer sled (20) comprising a platform (42) for computer printer (22), the platform (42) mounted on a frame members (44) to which freely-rotating grooved wheels (47) are mounted and which engage corresponding tracks (39, 40) mounted atop a framework or cabinet (21) and extending in the same direction as the movement for the sled (20). A manually-operable tab (57) in a frame member (44) provides release of its stop member (60) from frictional engagement with one of the tracks (39, 40) in order to slide sled (20) to any point across the width of the frame work (21). Thus, the printer (22) can be disposed over any one of different-sized paper stacks 928) from which its paper is fed into the printer (22). Catching means (66 or 85) for catching printed paper are included with sled (20) and can be mounted thereto at the front or rear of the framework (21).

  • Patent number: 5037037
Abstract: A catch tray for receiving individual spools of output recording media, having a nominal outer diameter, which are dropped therein and which is capable of maintaining and enhancing their tight tubular form. The tray comprises a pair of walls spaced from one another by a distance less than the nominal outer diameter, and the surfaces of the wall have different coefficients of friction so that said spools of output recording media roll between the walls.

The frame includes a U-shaped crosswise holder (14) whose upstanding opposing side arms are made of sheet metal or plastic channels (22). A stack of paper bundling straps (26) is positioned on the crosswise portion. The channels each have a pocket for holding fan-folded end portions (30) of the stack of paper straps. One end portion of each strap is coated with adhesive (32) so when the end portions of a strap are pulled from their pockets, they can be attached together around the pile of papers to securely bundle them so that they can be carried easily with one hand (FIG. 5). The entire bundle is recyclable at a paper mill. In lieu of sheet metal side channels with pockets, the side pockets can be formed of tubular members (FIG. 6) bent and shaped to form pockets for the fan-folded ends of the straps.
