The gate cap (3) is installed in a stationary manner on a bottle neck or a container spout. If the rotating cap (1) is caused to rotate relative to the gate cap (3), the cam of the slide will be guided along the gate guide and will pull the slide (2) into the open position, whereas rotation in the opposite direction will cause the slide (2) to be displaced back into the closed position.

Abstract: There are provided a screw-type cap which can secure necessary fastening torque (opening torque) even in a case of a container having a plug having a foremost end portion of a small diameter and also a safety cap which cannot be opened by only rotation and therefore has a child resistance effect. A safety cap 20 consists of a screw-type inner cap 21 and an outer cap 22 which is mounted in such a manner that it covers the inner cap 21 and can be rotated and can displace axially within a limited distance. The outer cap 22 can rotate integrally with the inner cap 21 by pushing down the outer cap 22 and rotate it while the outer cap 22 rotates idly by rotation only. A plug portion 8 is formed by projecting a plug 6 from a disk portion 7 which is in abutting engagement with a tip end portion of a mouth portion 2 of the container. The inner cap 21 has a small diameter portion 21c formed in the inner middle portion thereof.

Abstract: A liner for a wine bottle cap is constructed such that a gas, such as oxygen, that diffuses through the liner moves along a path within the liner whose length is greater than the thickness of the liner. In this manner, oxygen from the atmospheric air can diffuse through a relatively thin liner at a slow rate before reaching the bottled wine. The liner is comprised of alternating layers of material semi-permeable to oxygen and material impermeable to oxygen, the impermeable layers containing open areas through which oxygen can diffuse. As oxygen diffuses through the alternating layers, the path(s) along which the oxygen diffuses is determined by the locations of the open areas in the impermeable layers. The liner may be assembled with a screw cap closure that comprises ventilation holes connected by a raceway for distribution of atmospheric air to the liner.
