    Abstract: A conventional pop-up latch mechanism to which a second rotating tongue that will disengage the main latch is used in combination. This tongue is moved in place by pressing on the lid a similar way as to close it. It allows for the design team to have a much wider freedom of designing the closure, without the need to have an area dedicated for the pop-up activation device, reducing mold complexity and cost at the same time. The lid is open by a very simple push down motion. It also requires the user to reach a certain amount of force to open it avoiding accidental opening in case the closure fall on the ground. A slightly recessed lid leads the user to push on the lid.

The invention provides uniform, airtight adhesion without unequal distribution of coupling intensity between internal sealing components when the container cover is closed. Further, the aesthetics of the container are increased because a closure clasp is not necessary, and it is possible to eliminate the problem of dried-out product created when the container is fitted with a closure clasp or similar device.

    Abstract: A drink bottle with a removable lid includes an inner lid attached to the mouth of the bottle and an outer lid or cover pivotably mounted on the inner lid. The outer lid or cover may be locked into a closed position covering the drinking tube. A push button on the inner lid can be operated to release the locked outer lid, permitting the outer lid to open so as to permit drinking from a drinking tube positioned therein. The push button moves a lid slide that extends to a point on the inner lid generally opposite to the hinge and contains an extension that engages with a notch in the upper lid to hold the upper lid closed. On actuating the push button, the lid slide is pulled in the direction of the push button and the extension located on the other end of the lid slide moves out of engagement of the outer lid, thereby opening the outer lid.

    Abstract: An improved structure of trashcan includes an outer can with a controllable upper cover. The upper cover has a connecting hole with a stepping part that moves downward in the outer can when being stepped. A base is at the bottom of the upper cover. First, second, third, and fourth tracks surround the stepping part at symmetrical positions of the base. Each track accommodates a restoring assembly that connects to the stepping part so that the stepping part can restore its original position after the stepping part moves to the bottom of the trashcan. The first track and the second track are stacked vertically. The third track and the fourth track are also stacked vertically. This configuration decreases the area occupied by the base. As a result, the stepping area of the stepping part is increased for the user's convenience to step on.

    Abstract: A unit opens the lid of a dumpster in response to downward movement of a foot-operated pedal that is translated into upward motion by a lever rotatably mounted on a frame and connected to one end of a tether cord which is attached at the other end thereof to the dumpster lid. The weight of the lid is applied to the tether cord, and via the tether cord to the foot pedal via a cord attached to the lever and will move the foot-operated pedal back into its initial position upon release of the pedal. Another form of the invention can include an electromechanical system which is operated by a push button.

    Abstract: A waste disposal device comprises a container having a top opening. The container provides access to an inner cavity that receives a bag with opened and closed ends. A pivoting lid closes/opens access to the opening. An actuation mechanism has a user-actuated interface. A linkage connected to the interface opens/closes the lid. A pair of jaws is connected to the linkage. The jaws move between a clamped position, in which the jaws close off a portion of the bag, and an opened position, in which the jaws are separated to allow waste to reach the closed end. The jaws and the lid are actuated concurrently by a single degree of actuation on the interface, allowing the lid to open and close while the jaws move from the clamped to the opened position, and back to the clamped position. A method for disposal of a waste object is also provided.
