  • Patent number: 5325990
Abstract: A container support has two legs attached on opposite sides of a container with a third leg attached to one of the legs attached to the container. The third leg pivots to minimize its projection when carrying the container from place to place with the support attached. By making the pivoting leg slightly longer than the leg to which it is attached, the third leg can be set in its extended position by merely rotating the container. Attaching brackets provide for the correct leg angle and easy attachment and detachment of the legs using a force fit between the back of the bracket and the container wall. The use of square tubing and mating attachment bracket for the container-attached legs maintains the correct angles for the support structure.

  • Patent number: 5287979
Abstract: An ovoid container which has two concave halves each with an open end and a closed end. As the open ends of the two halves are connected, the closed container takes on an egg or ovoid shape. The open ends are connected by combining an annular rib of one open end with an annular groove of the other open end. The two closed ends of the concave halves are joined by a press fit of protruding stubs from one closed end into corresponding depressions of the other closed end to form an egg cup that can also be used in a container for collecting eggs.

  • Patent number: 5186898
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for automatically constructing a polypeptide of high purity, up to 50 amino acids in length, using only single couplings. The apparatus includes an activation system for receiving protected amino acids, one kind at a time, having a common vessel (an activator vessel) in which to activate each of the amino acids. Also included is a reaction vessel for containing a resin used in solid-phase peptide synthesis for attaching a peptide chain thereto. A transfer system is also provided, which operates under control of a computer, to transfer the activated species from the activation system to the reaction vessel and to transfer amino acids, reagents, gases, and solvents from one part of the apparatus to another. The activator system also includes a temperature controlled concentrator vessel in which an activator solvent is replaced by a coupling solvent to enhance the coupling of the activated species to the peptide chain in the reaction vessel.

  • Patent number: 5064091
Abstract: A swap tank has transverse bars disposed at the standard spacing of ISO containers and end portions extending beyond the transverse bars. Each end portion has associated with it a base frame structure including the transverse bar and a pair of diagonal struts which extend towards each other and are welded together at the tank end. A support member is welded between the interconnected ends of the diagonal struts and a ring welded to the tank bottom below the tank axis. The support member is formed as an integral bent sheet metal part having two lateral triangular wall elements. To compensate for manufacturing tolerances, the support member may be adjusted by varying the bending angle in such a manner that the free edges of the triangular wall elements extend parallel and flush with the outwardly facing surface of the ring and may be welded thereto.

  • Patent number: 5046635
Abstract: An improved trash separator container is provided and consists of a housing having a closed bottom wall and an open top. A first mechanism is within the housing, for dividing the housing into multiple compartments to separately store different types of trash items which are to be recycled therefrom. A top cover fits over the open top of the housing. A second mechanism is in said top cover, for gaining access into each of the compartments so as to deposit the different types of trash items into the compartments. A third mechanism is connected to the closed bottom wall of the housing, for rotating the housing latitudinally along its axis when placed upon a flat surface so that one portion of the access mechanism will always face a person, allowing the person to deposit the trash items into one of the selective compartments.

  • Patent number: 5029612
Abstract: An emergency water supply barrel that would be connected to one of the water faucets of a house. The water supply barrel has an inlet port and an outlet port formed adjacent the top end of the barrel. A tubular pipe within the barrel has its top end connected to the inlet port and its bottom end located adjacent the bottom wall of the barrel. A hose would normally be connected to the outlet port of the barrel and water delivered through this hose would come from the top of the barrel while new water entering the barrel would be delivered to its bottom end to prevent stagnant water from being stored in the barrel.
