Abstract: Food serving pans made from heat conductive materials include a gasket positioned over a flange to protect fingers from heat or cold, improve gripping ability, seal against countertops of food serving tables, and/or protect paint or non stick coating from chipping off the flange. The food pan is made from aluminum or other highly heat conductive material. The gasket comprises silicone or other heat resistant and insulating elastomer. A food serving system includes one or more food pans and a food serving table. The food pans maintain food at a desired temperature by efficiently transferring heat or cold from the serving table while the gasket seals against a countertop of the serving table. The gasket can be provided in a kit of differently sized and/or shaped gaskets so as to fit over differently sized and/or shaped pan flanges. A user can install and replace the gasket as needed.

Abstract: A fuel resistance package includes a member to be sealed, which is used in a fuel atmosphere including an aromatic compound or ethanol, and a sealing member, which seals the member to be sealed so that the member to be sealed is protected from fuel in the fuel atmosphere. The sealing member is made of resin containing glycidyl amine-based epoxy resin having a glass-transition temperature of 180° C. or more and a dielectric constant of 3.5 or less as epoxy resin, an amine-based hardener that ring-opens epoxy groups of the epoxy resin to harden the epoxy resin, and filler made of silica.

Abstract: The invention relates to a tank truck end plate having a wave-shaped brink reinforced ring. An arced convex portion and an arced concave portion are continuously formed on the periphery of the end plate of the tank of the tank truck, and the region of the frame periphery of the arced concave portion is formed with an arced convex surface, which has the curvature greater than the curvature of the arced convex surface of the end plate of the tank of the conventional tank truck. According to this design, the end plate has the enhanced strength, surface smoothness, smoothness and straightness of the distal end of the periphery and the overall smoothness.

Abstract: A sealing cover assembly that provides a liquid-tight seal around the upper perimeter of an underground utility box includes an upper lid element, a lower lid element, and a resilient, elastomeric sealing element sandwiched in between. The sealing element includes a peripheral sealing lip that mates with a peripheral surface of the upper lid element, and a sealing flange that seats in a peripheral groove or slot in the lower lid element. The peripheral lip bears against an interior surface of the underground box to form a seal The underside of the lower lid element includes fastening elements for securing an accessory holder to the underside of the cover assembly. A central fastening assembly secures the upper and lower lid elements together with the sealing element captured therebetween.

The seal for the beverage can/bottle provides a solution to the problem of the confidence in the hygiene of the areas of the beverage can/bottle, respectively, that it covers in this, that it, itself, undergoes irreversible change. When the seal for the beverage can/bottle, itself, underwent no change whatsoever, the user is sure that no one before him removed and returned this seal to its previous place.

Abstract: The present patent relates to the sector of surge tanks for pumps and boilers, and particularly concerns a new flange made of plastic and fibreglass for assembling on surge tanks The flange has a dome-like geometrical shape, that is concave on the underside, designed to reinforce it and to reduce the amount of material needed to make it. Said flange is distinctive in that it is shaped so as to ensure perfect geometrical compatibility with the surge tank on which it is assembled and the tightness of the butyl (or other material) seal.

Abstract: An enclosure described herein satisfies the requirements of a NEMA 4X enclosure, and is capable of being used in food and beverage plants, and other washdown environments. The enclosure includes a housing and a removable cover coupled to the enclosure. The cover is flush with the housing, and both the housing and the cover have a smooth exterior finish. A sealing gasket having a thickness greater than the cover is positioned between the cover and the housing. The enclosure generally houses at least one switch therein. The cover includes a handle and switch mechanism that controls the switch(es) when the cover is coupled to the housing.

Abstract: A beverage can cap member is configured so that its exterior surface extending radially inwardly from the rim or rim forming portion is substantially flat or continuous, or has a slight curve from a position adjacent from the rim or rim forming portion. The cap member may have a countersink which is filled with a filler material including a curable adhesive, an insert of a natural or synthetic material or the like. The filler material increases the structural strength of the cap member to an extent that it can be made of a relatively thinner material and still complies with the minimum peaking pressure of the industrial standard.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for temporarily fastening a food package to a support surface. A portable food package includes at least one compartment having a plurality of side walls, adapted to provide lateral support to contain food product within the food compartment, and a substantially planar bottom attached to the side walls. The bottom has an inner side disposed in the food compartment and an underside disposed outside of the food compartment. The portable food package also includes an adhesive strip affixed to the underside of the bottom, the adhesive strip adapted to temporarily adhere the bottom of the food package to a substantially horizontal support surface.

Abstract: A self-anchoring beverage container with directional release and attachment capability has a flexible nonporous base member adapted to seal to a reference surface and create a controlled pressure zone. A receptacle assembly is mounted to the base member and includes a beverage holding chamber. A communication channel in the receptacle assembly extends from the controlled pressure zone to an area of ambient pressure. A pressure control device on the receptacle assembly is adapted to alternately close the communication channel to seal the controlled pressure zone and open the communication channel to vent the controlled pressure zone to ambient pressure. The receptacle assembly further includes a grasping portion arranged to be grasped by a user. The pressure control device is operatively connected to the grasping portion for actuation to the open position when a user grasps the grasping portion during normal lifting of the beverage container from the reference surface.

The cap member (16, 100) may have a countersink (160) which is filled with a filler material including a curable adhesive, an insert (180) of a natural or synthetic material or the like. The filler material increases the structural strength of the cap member (16, 100) to an extent that it can be made of a relatively thinner material and still complies with the minimum peaking pressure of the industrial standard.

Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention is a combination of a pizza box and leveling device for the pizza box. The pizza box has at least one sidewall that is formed having two adjacent panels with a cavity between the adjacent panels, and, a bottom that has at least one slot. The at least one slot is substantially aligned with and provides access to the cavity. And, the leveling device has at least one portion thereof formed for insertion into the at least one slot and further into the cavity of the sidewall of the pizza box so as to detachably attach the leveling device to the pizza box.

Abstract: Sensitive materials are packaged by being inserted into an uncontaminated reservoir of a container assembly without being contaminated during such packaging. The container assembly also includes an uncontaminated sleeve and an uncontaminated film. A lower portion of the sleeve extends from opening in the top of the reservoir and an upper portion of the sleeve is sealed by the film. When the film is broken, the material is inserted into the reservoir. The upper portion of the sleeve is separable from the lower portion of the sleeve. The container assembly also includes a first set of carrier arms attached to the upper portion of the sleeve for facilitating movement of the carrier assembly and a second set of carrier arms attached to the reservoir for facilitating handling and/or movement of the reservoir after the upper portion of the sleeve is separated from the lower portion of the sleeve.

Abstract: A container is provided in a folded, minimally-sized, configuration. Ends of the container are folded down onto two of four sides to allow folding without bunching or crushing of the sides through the use of predefined preferential folds. Folding a container into a flattened shape is a procedure that is well known in the art, such as in storing, for example, paper bags. A strap is guided slidably by a rectangular ring and lies against the folded container in close proximity. The strap can have any shape, such as a “V” or “W” shape in cross-section, that provides strength and structural integrity to the expanded container. The strap has a locking mechanism, such as a “tooth” or ridge of material, for positively engaging the ring and causing locking to the ring when the container is expanded. In the folded configuration, the strap covers and thereby protects the opening.

The recipient is equipped with a system for the sterile transfer of the fluid from inside the body. Abstract: A unitary, removable, transportation ring for maintaining the closure of a covered container, such as a cylindrical paint can, snaps into place and securely maintains a lid on the container even in an environment of high pressure within the container. The ring is responsively operable in the presence of elevated and extreme pressures within the container to improve the engagement of the ring with the container, and to improve the engagement of the lid with the container, each in order to maintain the cover tightly sealed over the top opening of the container. An annular flange depends from the inner radial margin of the body of the ring and abuts the lid or cover of the container to maintain the engagement of the lid with the container.

Abstract: A trash container is disclosed that has a flexible, corrugated baffle attached to or integrated into the lid of the container. The baffle may have a handle and a compacting plate attached to it, and it allows a user to compact trash inside the trash container. Specifically, the flexible design of the baffle allows the compacting plate to compact trash inside the container when the baffle is extended into the container. After the trash inside the container is compacted, the baffle may spring back into its original shape. The lid structure, including the baffle, may be incorporated into the container, which may have other features, such as a foot pedal to raise and lower the lid. The baffle allows trash in the trash container to be reduced in size, allowing more trash to be placed in the container, while maintaining a simple design and keeping the user clean and safe.

Abstract: An anti-spill dauber wiper for removable insertion into a threaded upwardly open cylindrical access neck of a glue container having a lid threadably received on the neck and a dauber for glue application secured to a bottom distal end of a dauber stem which depends downwardly from the lid for insertion in the glue contained in the container. The wiper includes a flexible cylindrical sleeve dimensioned to be inserted into an snugly received in sealed engagement with the container cylindrical access neck and the wiper is further provided with a flexible circular disk shaped closure membrane that spans the cylindrical interior of the sleeve. The disk shaped closure membrane is provided with slits therethrough which extend radially from the center of the closure member for thereby providing flexible pie shaped segments for permitting ingress and egress of the dauber to and from the container through the closure membrane with wiper application of the flexible segments.

Abstract: A configurable beverage container comprises a container body defining a central axis and bounded by non-opaque sides, an openable top, and a bottom defining a cavity in which a liquid can be retained. The container body includes a connector, such as a set of female thread portions, located on a lower end of the container body adjacent the container body bottom. The configurable container further includes an accessory having an accessory connector (e.g. male thread) located on a top end thereof and another (e.g. female thread) on a bottom thereof, with the top end configured to be coupled to the container body connector along a long axis of the container body. Examples of accessories include a first-aid kit, a GPS, a power source, and a flashlight. The flashlight accessory may further include an inward-shining light adapted to shine into the beverage container cavity and turn it into a lantern. Multiple accessories may be coupled in serial fashion in any configuration.

Abstract: An apparatus allowing for the adjustment of the size and volumetric content of a container is presented. The container is constructed such that numerous component sections, in which foodstuff or the like can be stored, can be added or removed one to/from the other, respectively, as is desired. Each of the component sections has an annular threaded portion that is sized so as to allow the top or bottom of another like component section to be screw fitted onto the first. In this manner then, component sections can be screw fitted one on top of another thereby allowing for adjustment of the overall size and volumetric content of the container. One component section acts as a base, having a solid bottom, while another component acts as the top onto which a cap/lid can be screw fitted. Each component section can additionally be individually sealed by the addition of a solid bottom and/or of a foil or plastic cover to seal over the section's openings.

Abstract: The invention relates to an improved tank structure having an outer shell of metal material with an inner surface and an outer surface, and an inner shell of a plastic resin material fused to the inner surface of the outer shell. The tank structure has at least two insert fittings mounted in corresponding openings formed in the outer shell, each insert fitting defining an opening for providing access to the interior of the tank structure. A top end of each insert fitting projects above the outer surface of the outer shell, and is formed with a peripheral flange for welding to the outer surface of the outer shell. The remaining body portion of each insert fitting extends into the interior of the tank structure and has a circumferential groove formed in the outer surface thereof which provides a gripping surface to which the inner shell is fused.

Abstract: A container system and a method of its use is disclosed. The container system comprises a first container attachable to a second container. Each of the first and second containers include a housing open at one end thereof and defining an internal volume therein. An attachable closure seals each open end. The first container includes either a reception means or an attachment means in a second end thereof. The reception means is for receiving a separate attachment means, which may be a separate piece or integrally formed with the attachable closure of the second container. A variety of embodiments may be made as needed with various forms of an attachment means. For example, the second container may or may not include a second closure means, and may or may not include a threaded male portion based on the attachment means including or not including a cooperating threaded female portion.

Abstract: A stable waste receptacle has in the preferred embodiment, at least two foot pedals mounted on opposite sides of the receptacle, at the receptacle's base. Recessed housings are formed in the base and sides to permit the foot pedals to be withdrawn from the housings to stabilize the receptacle during trash bag removal or to be pressed back into the respective housings for telescopically stacking multiple receptacles. Detents are provided to retain the foot pedals releasably in the extended and retracted positions.

Each device includes a first leg, a second leg spaced from the first leg, and a hill portion joining adjacently disposed ends of the first and second leg and sized to operably receive the portion of the peripheral rim.

Abstract: A combination beverage holder and container opener having a tubular body that includes an open upper end sized for receipt of a beverage container, a lower end, and a wall that defines an inner receptacle and a lower inner surface for receiving the beverage container. The lower end includes an orifice designed to receive and remove a twist open bottle cap. A bottom surface of the lower end includes first and second sections. The first section includes a cavity member designed to engage and remove a conventional bottle cap from a beverage bottle. The second section includes a tab member designed to slip between the pull tab and top surface of a beverage container and releasably open the container's pull tab.

Abstract: A toolbox having modular components for additional storage and functionality includes modular attachments that are adapted to removably fit various attachments, such as a cooler, cup holder, saw blades holder, drill bit holders, and the like. In addition, the toolbox includes a three-quarter length tray that allows the craftsman to overstuff the inside of the toolbox and additional storage compartments in the lid of the toolbox.

Abstract: A tube comprising a container having a closed bottom end, an open top end, and a part that is adapted for flexible cooperation with a compartment of a rack for accommodation of the tube in such a way that unintentional removal of the tube from the respective compartment is substantially prevented, a cap for sealing a tube, and a rack for accommodating a plurality of tubes. The tube, cap, and rack facilitate automatic handling of samples.

Abstract: An integrated lens care system including a lens case for contact lenses and a container for dispensing a lens care solution. The container includes a docking site where the lens case can be stored and then removed for use, and a retainer mechanism for releasably securing the lens case in the docked position. In example embodiments, the docking site is a chamber into which the lens case is inserted, and the retainer mechanism includes at least one protrusion that extends into the docking chamber and releasably couples to at least one recess in the lens case. In another example embodiment, the docking site is a peripheral edge of the container body where a combination lens case/closure cap mounts, and the retainer mechanism includes a snap-fit coupling at the peripheral edge.

Abstract: A system for separating particles from fluid which includes a receptacle for containing the fluid, a lid for covering the receptacle, and a filter assembly which includes a filter component shaped to fit the receptacle, an o-ring encircling the perimeter of the filter component for securing the filter assembly in the receptacle, and at least two baffles attached to the bottom of the filter component for reducing the motion of the fluid around and through the filter assembly.

Abstract: A cover for a desiccant dispenser is mounted over an opening of a bucket-shaped container containing a plurality of desiccant bags. The cover includes a hard main plate having a taking-out bore for insertion of a hand to take out the desiccant bags, and one elastic plate mounted on the main plate to cover the taking-out bore and having a plurality of cuts arranged radiately to permit the insertion and withdrawal of the hand. This can greatly extend the duration of the activity of desiccant bags placed in a bucket-shaped container of a dispenser, particularly desiccant bags located in an uppermost layer.

Abstract: A rotatable cover for a tab actuated drink opening in a conventional beverage container, which cover is easily installed and removed, is reusable, and prevents the entry of objectionable debris including insects. The cover, having a bottom surface larger than the drink opening, includes a recessed top portion adapted to receive and engage the tab actuator securing it to the container. The cover and tab actuator rotate in concert to cover and uncover the drink opening.

Abstract: A liquid absorbent base for a liquid beverage container used in the Food and Beverage Industry. A liquid absorbent wafer is provided that is secured onto the base of the container. The liquid-absorbent base and beverage container are used in combination as a liquid-absorbent substrate for cleaning up spillage and liquid condensate.

Abstract: Preforms or parisons are blow molded from synthetic resin into hollow articles including a neck region and a body area, the hollow articles having hooks and recessed areas formed into their outside walls. Flexible strings are molded below the neck region of varying thickness in the longitudinal direction to achieve molecular orientation of the synthetic resin. The flexible strings are looped around the hooks or lifted above the neck finishes to form flexible handle containers. Rigid handles or combined flexible string and rigid handle portions are incorporated into the hollow articles to form rigid handle containers.

Abstract: The nozzle for a pressurized container is mounted to the container for shipment and sale by a hook member. The hook member has a hook portion that mounts to the valve cup rim or container rim. An attachment leg connects the hook portion to the nozzle. The hook portion has a slip-fit relationship to the rim on which it is placed. The wall of the hook portion that rests along the outside of the rim is thinner than is the wall that rests along the inside of the rim. This arrangement accommodates the over-cap without displacement or flaring of the nozzle.

Abstract: A pull-top lid for a pressurized tennis ball container having a rubber safety shield for protecting against injury from the sharp pressing seam edge of the removed lid.

Abstract: A protective seal for beverage cans, etc. completely covers and seals the mouth contact area of the can, thereby protecting that area from contamination. The present seal comprises a thin, durable, impervious sheet applied to the top of the can surrounding the opening area, extending down the upper side of the can adjacent the top opening area for a short distance to cover the mouth contact area of the can. The seal is peripherally sealed to the can surface by a narrow strip of food grade adhesive. The tab attachment extension of the seal may include bushings, washers, etc. to provide clearance for the majority of the seal to pivot between the pop tab lever and can top, and/or may include a circumferential weakening line about the pop tab rivet to allow the majority of the seal to shear circumferentially to pivot about the captured rivet attachment portion thereof.

Abstract: A container lid that is adapted to be placed on a container includes an upstanding side wall and a top wall. The top wall is provided with an opening or through hole for allowing the contents within the container to be mixed while the lid remains on the container. The top wall of the container lid is configured to strengthen and increase the rigidity of the portion of the top wall surrounding the opening. The container lid can also be provided with characteristics allowing the portion of the lid surrounding the opening to flex when a force is applied to the periphery of the opening.
