  • Patent number: 6029852
Abstract: A device for dispensing card-like media, referred to as "cards", from a stack of such cards has a front-loading magazine for storing and dispensing the cards, the magazine being received within a primary aperture of a housing. The magazine has a casing formed by two lateral walls and a base and having a mechanism for biasing the stack of cards towards its front opening. A front cover, attached to the casing near its front end, retains the stack of cards within the casing and provides a slot shaped to facilitate manual removal of a single card from the stack. The front cover is displaceable between a closed position in which the front cover closes most of the front opening and an open position in which the front cover allows front loading of the cards into the casing. The open position is such that the front cover forms a partial obstruction to the front opening so as to retain the stack of cards within the cavity.

  • Patent number: 5765719
Abstract: The dispenser and rack for a roll of paper, plastic, or foil, which comprises a magazine for generally vertical disposition having an open bottom, and the inside dimensions of the magazine are sufficient to accommodate at least one roll. A paddle is mounted in the magazine, and a handle affixed to the paddle extends from an opening in the magazine and is free to be moved along the opening so as to actuate the paddle between a lower-most position and an upper-most position. The paddle is arranged so when in its lower-most position, it obstructs the open bottom so as to prevent a roll from dropping from the magazine; and when the paddle is actuated to its upper-most position, clearance is provided to allow a roll to drop from the magazine. A suitable bracket depends from the magazine beneath the open bottom, and the paddle allows one roll a time to drop from the magazine for engagement with the bracket, and is revolvedly mounted on the bracket, thereby exposing the roll for use.

  • Patent number: 5692639
Abstract: A length of flexible cord is arranged to support a pair of stop elements below a hanging loop. The stop elements are of a size and shape to pass individually through the hollow cylindrical core of a roll of paper towels or toilet tissues but, when suspended in side-by-side relation at the bottom of a vertically oriented roll, are collectively too large to pass through the core and thus serve to support the roll in vertical orientation. A hanging loop at the top of the roll can be suspended over any convenient means, such as a hook, doorknob or the like, so that the holder is easily portable to a location in which the towels or tissues will be used. A section of the cord hangs downward over the exterior of the roll and serves to keep the roll from unwinding by gravity, and also provides a source of resistance against which individual sheets may be torn from the roll. This outer cord element may hang by gravity or may be engaged with the stop elements and thus held snugly against the exterior of the roll.

Abstract: For manually dispensing successively lowermost articles from a stack, the stack is housed in a device which includes a downwardly opening container removably supported in an upwardly and frontally opening box portion of a support. An article removal slide is received in a slot defined between a bottom wall of the box and the lower edge of the container. An upwardly projecting tang, at the back of the slide, drags the lowermost article forwards, out of the slot, as a handle on the front of the slide is pulled forward. Detents in sidewalls of the box above the bottom wall removably mount to complementary features on the container side walls. Guides and an out-stop are provided between the article removal slide and the box bottom wall. The slide is received in a central recess in the box bottom wall. Flanking surfaces of the box bottom wall support the lowermost article which also rests on the slide.

  • Patent number: 5016766
Abstract: The invented anti-contamination orthodontic device dispenser includes a container for housing orthodontic devices, an aperture in the container through with the devices are dispensed, and a guide structure which directs the devices to the aperture for dispensing. The dispenser is gravity and friction controlled so that when one device is dispensed, the next device is presented and ready for dispensing. The container and guide structure are constructed so that the devices are stacked on top of each other and touching because of gravity. Each device has a tooth on its upper surface and ridges on its lower surface. When a device is dispensed, its tooth contacts the ridges on the device immediately above it creating friction which positions the next device for dispensing. The invented dispenser is particularly effective for dispensing orthodontic O-rings mounted on a carrier or stick.
