  • Patent number: 4749103
Abstract: A child resistant dispensing closure having a pourout style spout that is telescopically mounted on a cylindrical extension of the closure. The closure is described with two embodiments of a push-pull spout. In both cases the closure threads onto a container finish and a pourout spout of the push-pull type is mounted on a cylindrical extension of the closure. The closure extension has a side opening adjacent the closed upper end through which the contents may be dispensed. The spout effectively closes the opening when in assembled form. Interengaging beads and lugs formed on the exterior of said closure and interior of said spout define the only relative rotational position that permits the spout being pulled up on the closure to uncover the opening therein. The proper rotational position is indicated when indicia on the spout and closure are aligned.

  • Patent number: 4607762
Abstract: A dosaging device for dispensing defined amounts of a liquid being contained in a bottle with a squeezable wall. A valve is disposed between the content of the bottle and the dosaging container which can be selectively opened or closed by turning a gripping piece. The openings for feeding the bottle content into the dosage container are arranged in a specific manner with respect to the pouring orifice. An oblique trough which encompasses the pouring orifice reduces the still remaining liquid in the area of the pouring orifice back into the dosaging container, after the pouring. Baffle ribs are mounted on the inner side of the lid which covers the dosage container to the outside and which contains the pouring orifice in such a manner that they limit the liquid film formed by the impact of the liquid streams on the inside of the lid in direction of the opening provided for pouring.

  • Patent number: 4488663
Abstract: A novel self-metering and dispensing device for fluids obtained from a pressurized fluid supply is provided. Tubing and valving means permit the introduction of fluid into and discharge from a closed cylindrical reservoir. • Patent number: 4474312
Abstract: This invention relates to a dispensing unit for dispensing preselected quantities of liquid from a container, such as a squeeze bottle. The dispensing unit includes an outer cup member and an inner cup member, with the inner cup member having radial openings therethrough which are circumferentially spaced and at selected heights so as to determine the level of liquid within the inner cup member. The outer cup member is provided with an axial flow passage which may either be sealed by the inner cup member or which may have one of the openings in the inner cup member aligned therewith. The liquid dispensed into the inner cup member, if the inner cup member is accidentally overfilled, will seek the pre-set level so that the desired measured amount of the liquid which is to be dispensed will be retained within the inner cup member.

  • Patent number: 4457453
Abstract: A self-sealing container closure includes a rotatable cap mounted over the mouth of an oval squeezable container. The cap has an outlet opening defined by a valve seat. The outlet opening is sealed by a valve element forced against the valve seat by a valve spring and a pair of actuating arms. An upper end of each actuating arm is non-rotatably coupled to the cap while the lower end is connected to the valve spring. When the cap is rotated to align the actuating arms with the minimum width of the container, squeezing the sides of the container presses on the actuating arms to further deflect the valve spring. This forces the valve element away from the valve seat to open the container. Rotating the cap, to align the arms with the maximum width of the container, places the container in a non-operational mode. Also disclosed is a piston and cylinder arrangement coupled to the actuating arms for dispensing a measured amount of liquid from the container.

  • Patent number: 4284209
Abstract: A method and device for forcing segregated plasma from a flexible collecting bag containing a layer of plasma over a layer of red blood cells has a member to reduce the chance for a portion of the red blood cells to also flow from the collecting bag. The device has a fixed member mounted normal to a base, and a movable member connected to the base by a hinge and urged toward the fixed member by a spring. The spring squeezes the collecting bag, which is supported between the fixed and movable members, forcing the plasma from the top of the bag. A stop member automatically stops the movement of the movable member when a large portion of the plasma has been forced from the bag. The stop member is releasable, allowing further movement of the movable member to remove the remaining portion of the plasma while being closely monitored by an operator.
