  • Patent number: 6715647
Abstract: A funnel with support assembly for pouring paint from a can, having a funnel and a funnel support having a holster and a stand upon which the holster is supported. The funnel may be supported upon the funnel support. The funnel has a large opening located in proximity to the funnel top, a small opening located in proximity to the funnel bottom, and a cap for sealing its small opening. In use, the holster and stand are positioned above a paint tray. The user seals the small opening of the funnel with the cap and attaches the large opening of the funnel to the top of an open can of paint. The can of paint and the attached funnel are then inverted and positioned within the holster. The user begins the flow of paint by removing the cap from the funnel.

  • Patent number: 6705480
Abstract: Provided is a pouring attachment for a paint container. The container has a peripheral side wall extending upwardly to an upper peripheral annular rim which defines a container opening. The attachment comprises an annular attachment body having an inner surface and an outer surface and a bottom edge portion sealingly engageable with the annular rim. The attachment body is funnel shaped, extending upwardly and outwardly from the bottom portion to an upper edge of the body. Releasable clip members pivotally secured to the inner surface of the attachment body can be used to releasably lock the bottom portion of the attachment body to the rim in a sealing manner, thereby allowing the liquid to be poured out via said attachment. The clip members secure the attachment to the rim with sufficient strength so as to prevent inadvertent/accidental detachment of the attachment.

  • Patent number: 6702160
Abstract: The invention discloses a no spill container where the user can properly position the dispensing port and release the contents of the container by means of a release assembly integral with the cap of a displacement port. The contents are released when the cap of the displacement port is rotated into an open position and the integral release stem lifts the sealing means that is adjoined to the stem on the opposite end at the dispensing port. The lifting of the stem causes the sealing means at the dispensing port to disengage from the dispensing port allowing the contents of the container to be expelled.

An annular collar fits over the annular band, hiding the handle support from view. The annular collar includes a pour spout and an annular flange that extends against an inside surface of the rim of the glass jar. A silicon adhesive or other suitable bonding agent is used to hold the annular collar in place. The use of the annular collar provides strong support for the handle. In addition, because the bonding agent that holds the annular flange in position against the glass jar does not have to support the handle, materials other than acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) plastic may be used for the annular collar and the handle. The spout has a cylindrical or frustoconical shape with two ends. At least one of the ends has two parallel and peripherally extending ridge members that are kept at a predetermined spaced apart relationship with respect to each other to cooperatively engage with the inwardly extending flange defining the can opening. The other end may be designed to also accept the same type of inward flange for an opening of a different size typically associated with a can of a different capacity or the same capacity with different opening dimensions. Thus the spout's cylindrical portion has a frustoconical shape.

Abstract: A delivery tip for delivering first and second materials has: (i) a hollow main body; and (ii) a septum extending along the length of the hollow main body, dividing the main body into first and second lumens. The first lumen terminates in a first opening on one side while the second lumen terminates in a second opening on an opposing side. The septum has a diverting end portion. First and second materials extend through respective first and second lumens of the tip until encountering the diverting end portion of the septum. The first and second materials then exit the tip in respective diverging first and second exit flow paths outwardly away from the distal delivery end of the delivery tip. A collar selectively mounts the delivery tip onto a two-part material delivery system. The collar can have a cap tethered thereto.

  • Patent number: 6260723
Abstract: A package for flowable media and a snap lid which package and snap lid are both made from thermoplastic material, in which a collar-shaped head of the package surrounds a pouring aperture of the package, which collar-shaped head has a retaining ring on its outside, an inside annular surface, and an upper end having an edge with a snap catch, which upper end can be closed using the snap lid. The snap lid has a closing wall from which an annular sealing lip projects towards an inside of the package, and can be brought into contact with an inside surface of the edge in sealing engagement. The closing wall is provided with an outside catch for snap engagement with a snap catch of the edge of the head. The head of the package widens outwards and upwards at its edge, and both the inner surface of this edge and an outer surface of the sealing lip on the snap lid are curved convexly relative to each other. • Patent number: 6209762
Abstract: A container assembly that includes a container having a body with a cylindrical neck and an integral lug projecting radially inwardly from the neck. A fitment has a cylindrical wall adapted to be received within the container neck. The fitment wall has internal threads for receiving a container cap, and an axial slot adapted to be received by snap fit over the lug in the container neck. The neck lug thus cooperates with the slot in the fitment wall for both retaining the fitment axially within the neck, and preventing circumferential rotation of the fitment within the neck. The fitment and cap are provided to a packager as a subassembly separate from the container. The container is rapidly filled with product through the relatively large opening in the container neck, and the cap/fitment subassembly is then snapped into the container neck to complete the package assembly.
