  • Patent number: 6935543
Abstract: An improved dispensing closure system for dispensing a product from a container includes an elongate or oblong dispensing orifice for dispensing a ribbon of product. One form of the dispensing closure system also includes a spout having a dispensing orifice that is oriented at an angle relative to the closure deck and relative to the flow direction of product from the orifice. The closure provides for the dispensing of product in a clean and controlled manner without mess. One form of the closure system also incorporates conical geometries in transition surfaces extending from the container opening to the dispensing orifice. The conical geometries of the transition surfaces provides for a smooth transition of product flow from the container opening to the dispensing orifice, while minimizing the volume defined by the closure system spout and thereby providing increased “suck-back” and an abrupt “cut-off” of product compared to prior art devices.

  • Patent number: 6929161
Abstract: The invention provides a cartridge for dispensing fluent materials into creases of garments to render them more permanent. The cartridge comprises a plastic elongated body having an integral tongue projecting laterally of the body at one end and through which the fluent composition is dispensed by passing a piston along the inside of the body. The tongue is a narrow member and is aligned with integral laterally projecting fins which fit into the crease of a garment to be rendered permanent. The tongue has a narrow rectangular bore into which fits a nozzle also having a narrow rectangular bore. The tongue bore and the nozzle bore are aligned with the fins, so as to provide maximum exactness in alignment of the body, crease and ribbon of composition which is dispensed from the nozzle. The design maximizes application efficiency by ensuring registry with the crease and nozzle.

  • Patent number: 6851632
Abstract: A high-pressure liquid spray nozzle having an elongate nozzle body having a longitudinally extending liquid flow passage, which in the illustrated embodiment, is defined in part by a plastic liquid throttling and stabilizing insert. The insert has a liquid flow passage which includes an upstream entry section, a smaller diameter downstream approach section, and an inwardly converging throat section between the upstream and downstream sections. The upstream passageway section has a scalloped cross-sectional configuration which define a plurality of longitudinally extending flutes effective for stabilizing and minimizing turbulence in the high pressure liquid flow stream directed through the nozzle such that a more concentrated, solid liquid flow stream is discharged from the nozzle with increased velocity and surface impact force for enhanced cleaning.

  • Patent number: 6820765
Abstract: A miniature, stand-alone, countertop freezer primarily for domestic use, and a soft-serve dispensing method, that allows extended storage of a food product at an optimum soft-serve sub-freezing temperature prior to dispensing. Its housing has a compact configuration for freezer-like insulated food product storage. However, when soft-serve dispensing is desired, the housing is vertically extended to expose a decorator pattern cap. A press plate in the upper portion of the housing is activated, either manually or otherwise, to push downwardly on the food product container, and thus force the food product through the pattern cap below the food product container and into a receiving vessel. The pattern cap may be a part of the dispenser or a part of the food product container. Although not limited thereto, use is contemplated with ice cream, sherbet, yogurt, sorbet, and other frozen dessert products. Alternative power supply sources are contemplated.

  • Patent number: 6786724
Abstract: An intra-oral molding compound ejection tip is provided to provide a substantially uniform expanding solid angle of the mixed molding compound upon molding compound ejection. A prior art intra-oral tip typically includes an ejection orifice defined about an axis parallel to the direction of mold compound ejection. In a preferred embodiment, two cuts are placed in the tip at right angles to one another within the plane of the normal axis of molding compound ejection. Each of these cuts is sized with respect to the ejection orifice to produce a uniformly expanding solid angle of the ejected molding compound. This uniformly expanding solid angle of the ejected molding compound has the property of having higher normal incidence to both preparation and margin to the preparation in teeth having dental surgery.

  • Patent number: 6374541
Abstract: A spill-resistant container for storing and dispensing a liquid, the container having a curved neck which prevents the liquid from spilling when being poured out of the opening of the container. For example, the spill-resistant container may have a curved neck in the form of a number “7 ”, a letter “Z ” or a letter “S ”. When the spill-resistant container that is full of liquid is tilted such that the liquid level inside the container is higher than the liquid level at the opening of the container, no liquid flows out of the container. The liquid will start to flow out of the container only after the container is tilted beyond a predetermined start-to-pour angle. The start-to-pour angle is reached when the container is tilted enough so that the outside air starts to enter the container and the liquid inside the container starts to flow out of the container. This design makes pouring a liquid from a full container much less likely to spill.

  • Patent number: 6098850
Abstract: A non-spill liquid bottle having an extended curved neck in the form of a number seven "7", a letter "Z" or a letter "S" incorporated into the design of its mouth opening. Liquid will start to flow out only after the bottle is turned further and the tilting angle reach the predetermined pouring angle. The pouring angle is the tilting angle of the bottle when outside air starts to enter the bottle and liquid inside the bottle starts to flow out. • Patent number: 5590818
Abstract: This invention relates to a novel, multisegmented nozzle for dispensing viscous materials, particularly for dispensing differently colored toothpaste into toothpaste tubes so as to produce toothpaste of striped appearance when dispensed from the tube. The nozzle has a tubular body defined by an outer body wall, and has within the tubular body a central channel and a plurality of longitudinal first and second side channels situated around the central channel. The first side channels have a cross section which narrows towards the central channel; the second side channels have a rectangular cross section. Because of this configuration the nozzle is able to load multicolored toothpaste tubes which dispense toothpaste in a substantially more uniform striped pattern than conventionally loaded multicolored toothpaste tubes.

  • Patent number: 5566866
Abstract: The disclosed port device has a tubular inlet end stepped with progressively smaller land areas sized to establish a leakproof separable joint with outer land areas of conventional material mixing/dispensing tubes. Separate radial base blades hinged from the port device near its outlet end fit either unfolded flush against a flat surface aligned over a crack therein or back-folded into the crack itself, for alternative uses of the port device. The port device beyond the base is beveled across end edges, for cooperating with corner surfaces and guiding material discharge under pressure into an underlying corner crack, where two partly folded base blades can then fit flush against the corner surfaces. An expandable sleeve fitted into the structure crack can be deformed radially upon tightening a nut for retaining the port device in the structure even when dispensing material under high pressures into the crack, as by an accessory fitting mechanically locked to the port device.
