  • Patent number: 10470450
Abstract: A system and device for threading fishing line through guides mounted on a fishing rod is disclosed, along with a method for using the system or device. A shaft is supported between paired gates. The shaft has a back end to attach to a fishing line. A carrier assembly is configured to hold the paired gates, and to permit mounted guides to pass between open paired gates while being threaded with the fishing line by the shaft, as the shaft is being fixedly retained between other paired gates. A funneling channel of an end cap module is attached to the carrier assembly near the front end of the shaft. While passing the carrier assembly over each of the mounted guides, the funneling channel funnels each of the mounted guides to encircle the front end of the shaft, thereby threading the mounted guides with fishing line.

  • Patent number: 4911341
Abstract: A needle threading device includes a rectangular block housing including a chamber at a lower end thereof which opens through a side wall. A needle receiving bore extends through a top wall of the housing for receiving a needle; and a V-shaped recess at the lower end of the needle receiving bore aligns the needle with a predetermined orientation. A thread receiving notch in the housing adjacent to the needle receiving bore receives a thread to be inserted through an eye of the needle when the needle is in the needle receiving bore. An actuator is slidably positioned in the chamber for pushing the thread in the thread receiving notch through the eye of the needle in the needle receiving bore.

  • Patent number: 4890776
Abstract: A needle threading device has a passage for a needle, a recess for a thread, and a threader turnable by a user and pushing the thread from the recess into the passage and thereby into the ear of the needle. The threader turns between two pins which simultaneously form connectors for connecting two housing parts of the device. A cutter is attached to the housing, and the housing has an attaching element for attaching the device for a piece of the user's clothes.

  • Patent number: 4832240
Abstract: A needle threader for needlecraft needles has a notch to retain a needle in position on the threader while thread is passed through the eye in the needle threader. The notch may be used in conjunction with shoulders utilized as stops for the needle, or may be used with the more conventional threader. The notch for retaining the needle allows easier threading because the threader with the needle can be held with one hand while the thread is manipulated with the other.

  • Patent number: 4779616
Abstract: A method is provided for snagging a surgical suture wherein a device is introduced to the interior of the patient's body through a cylindrical cannula. The device includes a resilient loop which collapses as it passes through the cannula. The loop is crimped at its end whereby when a length of suture material is passed through the loop and the device is withdrawn from the patient through the cannula, the suture is snagged within the crimped portion so that it does not escape the loop.

  • Patent number: 4720026
Abstract: A sewing assembly including a needle, a loop secured to the trailing end of the needle, and a driver member in the form of a thimble adapted to fit on and over the finger of the user and including a hook portion extending upwardly from the main body portion of the thimble and adapted to be inserted into the seat defined by the crotch defined at the juncture of the forward end of the loop with the trailing end of the needle. The loop thus coacts with the needle to facilitate ready threading of the sewing assembly, to define a seat for receipt of the hook portion of the driving member, and to provide cam surfaces to guide the hook portion into firm seating engagement with the seat at the trailing end of the needle. In an alternate form, the driver member is in the form of a finger ring and the hook portion extends upwardly from the main body of the ring.

  • Patent number: 4641652
Abstract: The applicator for utilization in combination with an endoscope tube comprises a coil connected to a longitudinal passage through a shaft and comprising hollow turns connected to the shaft passage for reception of a sewing thread, whose proximal extremity is passed through a loop projecting from a radial opening at the distal extremity of the shaft, is then drawn through the shaft passage and fastened to the proximal shaft extremity. Tying the single stitch after piercing the tissues is performed by passing the needle axially through the coil and then around the thread and twisting the coil out of the loop formed thereby to form the first half of a knot which is then complemented by the second half of the knot tied in the same way, the knot being tied by subsequently pulling together the two said halves.

  • Patent number: 4557408
Abstract: A manually operable needle threading device comprises a housing having a recess for positioning the eye of a needle to be threaded in alignment with the path of a displaceable thread pusher member in the housing, whereby displacement of the pusher member from a retracted to an extended position pushes a portion of a thread between the needle and pusher member through the needle eye. The pusher member displaces the portion of thread between gripping fingers on the housing which hold the thread portion upon displacement of the pusher member from the extended to the retracted position. The portion of thread remains attached to the threading device upon separation of the needle therefrom until a loose end of the thread passes through the needle eye to complete the threading operation, after which the thread portion is released from the threading device. In one embodiment the housing is of pistol-like configuration facilitating handling and operation of the threading device.
