  • Patent number: 4979657
Abstract: A portable beverage container carrier for an automotive vehicle is formed of a single sheet of flat, stiffened material, such as cardboard, formed with creases to create a rectangular floor, a front, a back and sides. A pair of arms extend laterally from the front and back and are adaptable for insertion into slots in the sides. The arms terminate in hook and loop fabric fasteners which are engageable with mating fabric fasteners on the inside surfaces of the side panels. The front, back and sides can thereby be folded up from the floor panel to form a tray. The front and sides are provided with reinforcement flaps that are foldable inwardly to reinforce the structure of the tray. One of the side flaps is formed with an articulated intermediate panel having apertures therein to receive accessories, such as straws and plastic eating implements. The sheet of stiffened material is formed with a detachable section that can be folded into a dihedral to form an adjustable brace.

  • Patent number: 4966320
Abstract: A hand gun in a holster is completely concealed by a simulated carrying pouch. A backing is mounted on a wearer, as with a belt around the wearer's waist. A holster is mounted on the backing completely within the area defined by the top, bottom and ends of the backing. A flap, permanently attached at the bottom to the backing but releasably attached by hook and pile fasteners (VELCRO.RTM.) at the top and two ends of the backing defines a textile material (fabric) or leather container which simulates a carrying pouch and completely conceals the holster and hand gun. Pockets may be provided in the flap. The holster is reversibly mounted on the backing using hook and pile fasteners, and hook and pile fastener straps releasably hold the hand gun within the holster. To gain access to the hand gun, the hook and pile fasteners at the top and two ends of the backing and flap are detached to completely expose the handgun for ready access.

Additionally, for vehicles with a defroster-type vent in the dash, a hook is mounted to the upper housing surface to engage the vent. The housing is generally of a wedge shape, tapering with the downwardly sloping top surface of the dash to position the upper housing surface in a substantially horizontal plane. For accessories with bottom mounted speakers, such as some CB radios, the upper housing surface has an aperture beneath the radio, and the front face also has one or more apertures to allow sound from the speaker to be heard within the vehicle passenger compartment.
