  • Patent number: 7341170
Abstract: A powered dispenser for dispensing individual sheet segments from a continuous roll of sheet material provided with spaced tear lines comprises a powered feed mechanism, a releasable, powered drive mechanism, a powered transfer mechanism, a pair of web sensing sensors, a capacitive sensing system providing automatic sensitivity adjustment, and control circuitry. A dual power supply system provides a mechanical lock-out functionality, and the control system is protected from electrostatic build-up on the surface of the feed roller. The web sensor, and an antenna plate of the capacitive sensing system, are provided on respective printed circuit boards mounted in overlying relation. Utilizing signals received from the pair of web sensors and the capacitive sensing system, the control circuitry senses the presence of a user to activate the powered drive mechanism, and prevents further dispensing of the sheet material until a previously dispensed segment is separated from the roll.

  • Patent number: 7210650
Abstract: A paper back tape dispenser that includes a cylindrical outer shell with a center cavity designed to receive a standard roll of paper back tape. The outer shell includes a side opening with a forward extending lip. Formed on the distal edge of the lip is a serrated cutting edge. Aligned and attached to the rear surface of the outer shell is a hollow pipe Formed on the inside and outside surfaces of the short pipe are two longitudinally aligned slots. Located inside the short pipe is a sliding piston. Extending through the piston and the pipe is an axle that partially extends into the cavity to hold a spool that fits inside a roll of tape. A spring is disposed inside the pipe that automatically holds the axle in an upward position on the pipe. During use, the portion of the axle that extends outward acts as a finger bar that is used to lift the axle upward so that new, large roll of tape may be placed over the axle and into the cylindrical cavity.

  • Publication number: 20040011168
Abstract: Sheet material is unrolled until a straight cut leading edge is at a predetermined desired length as measured along a scale, and so that a single tacky surface is on a planar support, for the unrolled sheet to lay wrinkle-free and planar in contact with the planar support surface. A cutter is translated along a guide entirely across the fixed width of the sheet material, thereby producing a linear straight line cut edge parallel to the straight cut leading edge at a predetermined desired length, thereby providing an accurate, dimensionally stable, abrasion resistant, single tacky side rectangular, planar sheet, mask that is then adhered to glass during surface finishing of frame portions adjacent to the mask. The cutter is slidablly mounted on a transverse pivotable guide rail to move away from the planar support surface sufficiently to remove the cutter as an obstruction to unrolling. In its operable position, the cutter blade extends within a linear, widthwise, slot of the planar support surface.

Abstract: The present invention is a sheet having a serrated cutting edge attached to a carton case containing a roll of a cooking sheet such as a synthetic resin film, paper sheet and metallic foil, the sheet having a serrated cutting edge used for cutting the cooking sheet. The sheet having a serrated cutting edge is made of a vulcanized fiber. A moisture-proof film of a synthetic resin is formed on the two surfaces of a vulcanized fiber blank in order to make the most of the rigidity and elasticity which are advantages of the vulcanized fiber and decreases moisture absorption which is a disadvantage thereof. The invention also is a carton to which the sheet having a serrated cutting edge is adhered to as well as to a method of adhering the sheet having a serrated cutting edge to the carton by utilizing the moisture-proof film and ultrasonic adhesion.

Abstract: A container device that dispenses paper from a roll, with a roll (B) in reserve. The device has two substantially parallel pins (4,4') for supporting and unwinding paper (10) from the rolls (A, B) with two openings (20) corresponding to the pins in the lower portion of the device contained within a housing. A sector (5) shaped as part of a circle is mounted to freely rotate about one of the pins. The sector (5) has a peripheral flange (5a) that is adapted to obstruct the corresponding opening (20). When the sector (5) is kept at a first, substantially vertical position, the opening (20) is obstructed. A spring (15) urges the sector (5) to rotate until reaching a second position at which point, the previously obstructed opening (20) is made accessible.

The cutting blade incorporates a row of cutting teeth (50) projecting from a flat surface between the surface's folded edges. The depth of cut of the cutting blade is limited by the height that the cutting teeth project from the flat surface. In addition, by spacing the cutting teeth sufficiently closely together, the cutting teeth provide a bearing surface sufficient to support human skin so that the cutting blade cuts plastic film and metal foil but does not easily puncture human skin.
