Patent number: 11267150Abstract: The rolled material dispenser of the present invention enables the user to securely grip the rolled material dispenser and safely cut rolled material installed within. The rolled material dispenser provides beveled corners allowing for better gripping and usage for users with decreased hand strength and dexterity. The user inserts the rolled material of their choice into the dispenser. The user opens the lid of the rolled material dispenser, pulls a desired length of material from the roll installed inside the dispenser device, and then closes the lid. Closing the lid secures the rolled material and positions the cutting device to sever the desired length of material. The cutting device travels along the track of the lid. The user slides the cutting device across the rolled material positioned underneath the lid to cut a portion of material from the roll installed within the dispenser.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2019Date of Patent: March 8, 2022Inventor: Gailia Smith

Patent number: 4334644Abstract: A dispenser carton for dispensing sheet material, e.g., household wrap type sheet material. A unique cutting edge structure for the carton permits tearing off a length of sheet material withdrawn from a supply roll inside the carton, while simultaneously braking the sheet material remaining on the roll during the tearing step to prevent inadvertent withdrawal of additional sheet material. In preferred form, the cutting edge structure is comprised of an abrasive applied to the free edge of the carton's closure flap, the abrasive being on the inside face of that closure flap. After the desired sheet material length is withdrawn from the roll within the carton, the carton's cover is closed and the closure flap is manually pressured against the carton's front wall. In this attitude, the abrasive and the closure flap's leading edge cooperate to provide a cutting edge by which the free length of sheet material can be torn off the supply roll from one edge to the other.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 1980Date of Patent: June 15, 1982Assignee: The C. Patent number: 3974947Abstract: An improved foldably erected dispensing carton particularly for household wrapping materials such as polymeric film, wax paper, metal foil, and the like, wherein the carton embodies a double ply panel having a pressure sensitive adhesive layer interposed between and securing such plies. An aperture is die-cut or otherwise formed in the outer ply to expose a select area of the adhesive, and thereby present a recessed tack spot to which the leading end of the roll can be lightly adhered, and thus prevented from withdrawing into the carton. The double ply panel structure also makes available a folded edge about which the roll material can be dispensed with minimum chance of snagging or binding due to the smooth quality of such edge.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 1974Date of Patent: August 17, 1976Assignee: The Dow Chemical CompanyInventor: Thomas F.
