Embodiments of the invention provide a packing box obtained from an upper cover and a lower box configured from cardboard for accommodating articles therein, in which: the upper cover is obtained from a top board that covers the entire interior of the lower box and side boards that extend vertically downward from each side of the top board and substantially cover the side surfaces of the lower box; and at least one notch is provided on one of the lower edges of the upper cover.

Abstract: The present invention relates to wrap films, especially wrap films for food. More specifically, the present invention pertains to crosslinked laminated polyethylene wrap films which are excellent in adhesion, pulling-out ease from a dispenser box and heat resistance, does not emit much odor, permits preferable food wrapping and can be produced efficiently.

Abstract: The present invention relates to dispensing cartons for sheet materials such as polymeric sheets, metallic foils, and other sheet materials, particularly those suitable for use in the containment and protection of various items including perishable materials. The present invention further relates to such cartons which permit end-loading of the roll of product into the carton during the manufacturing process. The present invention provides an asymmetrical carton for containing and dispensing a roll of sheet material. The carton has a longitudinal axis, and has both an erected condition and a flattened condition. The carton when erected forms a cylindrical structure having an asymmetrical polygonal cross-section formed from a plurality of substantially planar side panels. The carton has fold lines defined by the intersection of adjacent side panels, and is foldable into a flattened condition by folding the carton at two fold lines to form a substantially planar structure.

Abstract: A portable hard cover dispenser for a small roll of interconnected plastic bags has a dispensing slot for removing a bag, a brake for holding the roll of bags while a bag is torn from the roll, a bag rewinder, and is equipped with a belt hook for convenience in carrying.

Abstract: A generally cubical cardboard container is provided for containing and storing a length of sheet-like material which may be drawn via an elongate slot in a top face of the container and over an uppermost edge portion of a front face of the container. A safe cutting element, preferably formed of a substrate bearing small sharp-edged particles, is adhered to the uppermost edge portion of the front face. A waterproof coating is provided to coat the sharp-edged particles, and protects them from any ambient moisture and/or grease and also ensures against removal of any particles during use. The user simply draws out a desired length of the sheet-like material through the slit and over the uppermost edge of the front face, and then applies a downward force to press the material to the sharp edges of the coated particles to initiate and continue a tear across the width of the material.

The top closure has an inner panel extending rearwardly from the fornt panel, having a floss dispensing orifice and cutter, and an outer top cover panel extending forwardly from the rear wall.

Abstract: A dispensing carton in which a film wound cylindrically is contained includes a bottom panel, a rear panel, a front panel, both side panels, a lid member which is hingedly joined to the rear panel, a front flange joined to an end of the lid member to overlap the front panel when said lid member is closed, and a cutter mounted along an end of the front flange. The front flange includes a convex edge including, for example, a V-shaped edge. A saw-tooth edge of the cutter mounted along the end of the front flange is arranged into a convex shape such as V-shape. A length from the tip of at least one tooth of the saw-tooth edge nearest to a base of the box to the bottom of a gullet adjacent to the tooth is longer than a length from the tip of other teeth to the bottom of gullets adjacent to the other teeth. When the film is pulled out of the carton and further pulled in the horizontal direction or twisted while being pulled, the tooth of the cutter nearest to the base of the box first cuts into the film.

Abstract: A dispensing carton in which a roll film is contained includes a box consisting of a bottom panel, a rear panel, a front panel, both side panels and an opening formed in an upper portion thereof, a lid member which is hingedly joined to an upper end of the rear panel, and a front flange joined to an end of the lid member to overlap the front panel when the lid member is closed. A cutter is provided in an end of the front flange and an intermediate portion of the cutter is protruded toward a base of the box. When the film pulled out from the box is led between the front flange and the front panel and is further pulled in the horizontal direction with the lid member being closed, the middle portion of the film is cut by the protruded portion of the cutter and the cutting operation of the film is advanced along the cutter so that the film is smoothly and completely cut into a slightly V-letter shape when the film is further pulled in the horizontal direction as it is.

Abstract: A thermoformed plastic package made of a single piece of formed plastic sheeting folded upon itself along a hinge band. The back and front sections form an enclosure, preferably for a tape roll, and have contacting portions which include flat areas and interlocked undercut mating areas which extend from a first position near the hinge around the enclosure to a second position near the hinge, and preferably along the hinge as well. The hinge band preferably includes a center portion narrower than the total width of two side portions therealong, and serves to draw the face-to-face sections of the package together along the hinge. A tape channel extending from the enclosure provides frictional engagement tape being dispensed.

Abstract: A carton is provided for dispensing sheet material from a roll thereof disposed in the carton. The carton has a hood panel and a material tearing member which is preferably mounted on the lower edge of the hood panel. A hood panel engaging portion is provided on the front panel of the carton for releasably holding the hood panel in overlying relationship with the front panel to close the carton. If the carton is used to dispense plastic sheet material, the front panel is provided with one or more openings which allow the end portion of the plastic sheet to be pressed against the roll of plastic sheet through the openings whereby the natural tackiness of the plastic material holds the end portion of the sheet against the outer surface of the front panel of the carton.

Abstract: Articles are provided that include pressure sensitive adhesive compositions which are especially suitable for forming contact bonds that are resealable at room temperature. Such adhesive compositions include a blend of a linear or a radial block copolymer, an end-block modifying resin compatible with the end or thermoplastic block of the copolymer and incompatible with the mid or elastomeric block, a plasticizing process oil compatible with the mid or elastomeric block; and, only if desired, not more than about 14 weight percent of a mid block or elastomeric block associating or modifying resin compatible with the mid or elastomeric block and incompatible with the end or thermoplastic block. Articles that particularly advantageously utilize these compositions are thin-walled storage or sandwich bag products made of a polyolefin or other film that has a releasable and resealable sealing strip. Others include peelable labels and note pads and dispensers for thin storage wrap products.

Abstract: A dispensing carton is provided with a tab in its front wall for cooperation with a downwardly extending lip on the carton lid to clamp therebetween a sheet of household wrapping material dispensed from a roll within the carton, while the sheet is drawn along a serrated edge or cutter bar on an adjacent wall of the carton. This provides a length of the wrapping material for subsequent withdrawal from the interior of the carton during the next cutting operation by precluding the cut wrapping material from retracting onto the roll within the interior of the carton after it is cut. The clamp arrangement also results in a positive hold on the sheet as it is cut.

Abstract: A one-piece carton blank is erected into a carton containing a sheet of material rolled on a spool, the carton having a liftable top panel which is connected to a hood panel. The hood panel has a cutting edge, for example, a metal serrated strip protruding from its free edge, to tear the selected length of the sheet material. When the carton is closed the hood panel lies against the front panel of the carton. The carton is opened by the user inserting a finger through one, or preferably two, orifices in the hood panel and pushing against the front panel to break adhered areas and thereby free the hood from the front panel. The hood may have one or more liftable strips formed by parallel breakable score lines, the strips terminating at the orifice.
