  • Patent number: 10322846
Abstract: The invention generally relates to devices used for material handling, such as specifically, pallets and skids. More specifically, the present invention is directed toward a folded corrugated pallet. The folded corrugated pallet includes a body defined by a single sheet of corrugated cardboard. The sheet includes a plurality of scored lines extending parallel with respect to each other. The sheet is folded along the scored lines to define a plurality of legs extending in the direction of the scored lines. The sheet further includes at least one base wall extending between each of the legs, and a pair of wings. Each of the wings defines terminal edges that extend parallel to the scored lines and lie adjacent to each other when the wings are folded over the base wall. A planar interior panel of corrugated cardboard is disposed between the wings and the base wall.

  • Publication number: 20090114709
Abstract: A first surface and a second surface, wherein said first surface comprises a plurality of evenly distributed surface protrusions that correspond to cavities on the second surface, a rectangular lid face, and a rectangular bottom face which is connected to two opposed long side panels and two opposed short side panels and wherein the lid face and the bottom face are connected to each other via a side panel which is secured to a side edge on the bottom face and the lid face, respectively, wherein the lid face comprises one or more lid panels along the remaining side edges of the lid face, and wherein the side panels preferably comprise corner flaps arranged in correspondence with the corners of the bottom panel. Hereby a number of advantages are obtained from a production point of view, since a block carton is provided that enables even adhesion of the food substance to the block carton, said block carton exhibiting a larger surface than the prior art block cartons.

  • Patent number: 7264147
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for reducing damage to items shipped in corrugated boxes, and for reducing damage to the boxes themselves and the packing material within them. Damage is limited by adding one or more planar damped panels to a box for redistributing kinetic energy absorbed by the box when it is subjected to characteristic shipping shock and vibration. Efficient coupling of redistributed kinetic energy to resilient packing material within a box allows the use of relatively less resilient padding surrounding shipped items, thus allowing use of a relatively smaller box to obtain an acceptable level of protection. Planar damped panels also limit shifting of the item(s) to be protected by acting as damped variable-rate springs.

  • Patent number: 7019054
Abstract: A formulation, and a process for making same, is disclosed which is useful as a coating or treatment for imparting oil and grease resistance to an underlying substrate. The formulation does not contain any fluorochemicals. At the same time, however, the formulation provides oil and grease resistance properties that are equivalent to known coatings and treatments which contain fluorochemicals, particularly those coatings which are permitted to come into direct contact with food products. Therefore, the formulation of the present invention is ideal for use as a coating for paper and paperboard, including paper packaging such as that utilized in food wrappers, food containers, food receptacles and the like, and for other shaped articles. The formulation is also useful as a coating or treatment for providing release properties to an underlying substrate without the use of silicone.

  • Patent number: 6949274
Abstract: Sealant is statically applied to the edges of panels by placing a sealant on the inner surfaces of the walls of a container holding the panels. A shrink wrap sleeve is preferably applied to the panel filled containers, causing contact between the inner surface of the container and panel edges, such that the sealant is transferred to the edges of the panels. Further transfer occurs during handling of the container, due to movement of the panels in the container and contact between the sealant and panel edges.
