Abstract: A burner head is constructed with adjacent gas delivery tubes of different geometric cross-section shapes which are mechanically held in place radially. The tubes touch in a longitudinal direction at points along their respective inner and outer circumferences so that precise axial alignment whether coaxial or axially offset, is achieved while preserving the necessary laminar gas flow. This configuration greatly speeds the production time which allows economical burners to be produced even when a greater number of faceplate jets is desired. The tube-to-tube contact is also beneficial to the operation of the burner by providing a heat transfer path away from the innermost tube, which prevents overheating. Examples of the simplest geometric tube shapes employed are, for example, a square within a circle, or conversely, a circle within a square.

Abstract: Showerheads with two or more nozzles configured to deliver water streams that converge at one or more regions. Prior to convergence, the converging water streams may generally retain a recognizable shape determined by the type of nozzle. Upon convergence, at least portions of the converging water streams may substantially disperse into multiple individual water droplets. The nozzles, or a face plate or other components joining the nozzles to a showerhead, may be selectively movable to selectively move the region or regions of convergence closer to or further away from the showerhead, or to convert the nozzles from delivering converging streams to delivering non-converging streams or vice versa. Some showerheads may further include other nozzles for delivering water from the showerhead in other modes, such a high pressure mode, a pulsating mode, a mist mode, and so on.

  • Patent number: 7229031
Abstract: A showerhead with an internal valve to control the flow of fluid between a full flow and reduced flow condition so as to save energy and thereby conserve the supply of water. The showerhead includes an internal valve that operates easily between an off position and an on position to permit a controlled flow of water from an approximate flow of two and one half gallons per minute to a reduced flow of about one half gallon per minute. The internal valve is formed in a spherical configuration and swivels or rotates between a reduced flow position and a full flow on position; it has formed therein a relatively small by-pass aperture that serves to selectively maintain a predetermined, constant temperature flow of water for a person taking a shower.

Abstract: A shower head includes a main body, a locking seat, a locking nut, a water outlet faceplate, an O-ring, an adjusting bolt, and a connecting unit. Thus, the water outlet faceplate is moved toward the main body by rotation of the adjusting bolt, so that the O-ring is closely urged between the water outlet faceplate and the main body, thereby forming a closely sealing effect. In addition, the water outlet faceplate is integrally formed with the locking sleeve, thereby decreasing costs of fabrication, and thereby simplifying the process of assembly.

  • Patent number: 7074371
Abstract: A mixing system is disclosed which provides improved multiphase mixing through the use of a novel quench injection means. The mixing system comprises a horizontal collection tray, a mixing chamber positioned below the collection tray, and at least one passageway extending through the collection tray into the mixing chamber. The mixing chamber and the collection tray define a two-phase mixing volume. The passageway conducts fluid from above the collection tray into the mixing chamber. The mixing chamber preferably includes at least one outlet opening for the downward passage of fluid. In particular, mixing of quench fluid is significantly improved when quench is introduced into a region above the collection tray and where (i) lateral velocities of the process fluids are low, (ii) sufficient volume is available for the quench fluid to mix with the process fluids, and (iii) quench injection occurs opposite the prevailing direction of process fluid flow.
