Including Complementary, Aligning Means Attached To Ends Of Interlocking Surfaces Patents (Class 24/433)
  • Patent number: 5950286
Abstract: In a bottom stop assembly for a separable slide fastener, an open box has a first channel for receiving a box pin firmly attached on an end of a stringer. The open box has front and rear walls between which a web intervenes at their intermediate portions. Right and left flanges define with the web and the front and rear walls the first and a second channel for receiving an the box pin and an insert pin firmly attached on the lower ends of the other stringer. The channel on the box pin insertion side has projections on the flanges extending inwardly, the projections urging the box pin against the web. Upper and lower engaging surfaces formed by a cut-out embrace the web from up and down to limit axial movement of the box pin in the open box. A bulge on the lower end of the box pin bears against the flanges presses the projections to urge the box pin against the web. With these arrangements, any movement of the box pin inside the box is completely restricted.

  • Patent number: 5913481
Abstract: In a separable slide fastener, a succession of discrete fastener elements molded on a pair of parallel connecting yarns at regular distances are folded individually in a U-shape about an inner edge of each of opposed fastener tapes and are attached by sewing threads. Several of the fastener elements are removed from a bottom end portion of each fastener tape by cutting the connecting yarns with corresponding part of the sewing threads remaining uncut as cores. Each of upper and lower legs of a lowermost one of said fastener elements is flatted to form a small-thickness portion. An insertion pin of a separable bottom stop assembly is attached to the bottom end portion of one fastener tape by clenching so as to hold the small-thickness portions and the cores, and a box pin is attached to the bottom end portion of the other fastener tape in the same manner.

Each of the male and female members is formed with a slit-shaped groove at its upper side wall so that it is fixedly secured to the fastener stringer by causing the stepped portion to abut against the engagement groove. Each of the male and female members is preferably fixed to the associated fastener stringer by caulking or notch-like fingers.

Abstract: A separable terminal assembly of a separable slide fastener includes a separable pin mounted on one stringer tape along one longitudinal edge thereof, the separable pin including a pair of plates interconnected at one longitudinal edge and disposed one on each side of the stringer tape. Each of the plates has a flange extending along the other longitudinal edge of the plate and a bevelled upper end wall held in abutting engagement with the endmost coupling element disposed next to the separable pin. The bevelled upper end walls slope down in a direction from the one toward the other longitudinal edge of each plate. The flanges terminate short of the respective bevelled upper end walls so as to define between the plates and the flanges a pair of openings for allowing the one longitudinal tape edge to flex laterally toward the other longitudinal edge of the stringer tape while the endmost coupling element passes through a branch of the Y-shaped guide channel in a slider.

  • Patent number: 4571785
Abstract: A separable bottom-end-stop assembly of thermoplastic synthetic resin, for a separable slide fastener, comprises a pair of first and second separate pin members, and a socket member for being secured to the first pin member, the socket member having a pair of first and second bores receptive of the first and second pin members, respectively. The first pin member has on its opposite faces a pair of recesses, and the socket member has a pair of opposed projections extending into the first bore. In assembling, the projections of the socket member are received in the respective recesses of the first pin member when the latter is inserted into the socket member's first bore. Because of this projection-and-recess locking, the first pin member can be kept exactly in position relative to the socket member while these two members are joined together by fusing.

  • Patent number: 4539733
Abstract: A separable slide fastener comprises a pair of stringer tapes each carrying on its inner longitudinal margins a row of coiled filamentary coupling elements sewn to the respective inner tape margin with a core thread extending through each of the coiled coupling element rows, and a separable bottom-end-stop assembly mounted adjacent to the bottom ends of the opposed tapes. The bottom-end-stop assembly includes a pair of separate pin members attached by clinching to the respective inner tape margins at bottom end portions thereof, which portions are devoid of coupling elements, and a socket member secured to one of the pin members and having a bore for receiving a portion of the other pin member. Each of the other pin member has a longitudinal channel receiving the element-free bottom end portion of the respective inner tape-margin. Before attachment of the pin members, the bottom end portion of each inner tape-margin is trimmed or shaped along its inner edge that projects inwardly from the core thread.

  • Patent number: 4536923
Abstract: The invention is an improvement of a separable slide fastener with fastener elements which interlock when brought together perpendicularly to the plane of the fastener, the fastener comprising a retainer pin secured to the tape of one of the stringers and connected to a retainer and a separable pin secured to the tape of the other stringer and removably received in the retainer. According to the invention, at least the separable pin is made flexible by forming a thin portion at an intermediate portion of the pin. Because the separable pin is flexible, twisting of the fastener near the retainer and separable pins is greatly reduced and the separable pin may be very easily inserted in the retainer.

  • Patent number: 4459723
Abstract: A slide fastener stringer includes a row of helically coiled or zig-zag coupling elements of thermoplastic synthetic resin with a reinforcing core extending longitudinally therethrough. The coupling elements are secured to one surface of a stringer tape by sewing threads having portions running across and over upper legs of the coupling elements. Some of the coupling elements are cut off to provide an element-free space on the stringer tape. A terminal or endmost complete coupling element disposed adjacent to the element-free space has a free-ended connecting portion remote from a longitudinal edge of the stringer tape. To form an end of the slide fastener stringer, the free-ended connecting end portion of the terminal coupling element is fused to the stringer tape, and at the same time, the upper leg of the terminal coupling element is heated and pressed toward the stringer tape.
