The improved paper clip includes three elements, which are a first clipping piece, a second clipping piece and a support beam. The first clipping piece is formed with a sunken slot therethrough and is connected to a bottom side of the support beam. The second clipping piece has a bending curve part and is connected to a top side of the support beam. The bending curve part is partially protruding into the sunken slot and is roughened to become a rough surface for increasing friction to tightly clamp documents. The inner surface of the support beam is a flat plane so as to provide a guiding function when the document is received between the first and second clipping pieces. The first and second clipping pieces are both adjoined to the inner surface of the support beam, such that the outer surface of the support beam substantially forms part of the outer contour of the paper clip.

Abstract: A system for binding books includes a flexible binding material in the form of a stud having top and bottom caps. The stud is inserted into signature staples that protrude from the body of the signature to form stud holes. The binding material can be any material that is extremely flexible, including silicone, metals, etc., as long as it allows the signatures to open in a lay-flat manner either at the signature interfaces or in the body of any signature. The flexible binding material can also be used to temporarily bind pre-punched pages of a book by inserting the flexible binding material into the pre-punched holes to facilitate lay-flat opening of the book.

Abstract: A three-ring binder has an actuator crank which closes the rings against the bias of a leaf spring. The crank is turned by means of a lever having a roller thereon that engages a throw of the crank. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, a lower right corner of the front panel and lower left corner of the rear panel are clipped to form a diagonal configuration, functioning to allow for ease in separating the panels when attaching to papers. In this version, the clip further comprises a second, semi-fold line parallel to the main fold, functioning to allow the clip to hold numerous pages or thicker items in a spine formed therein. In all embodiments, the clips of the present invention offer a firm, effective grip upon a variety of items, in a convenient, and easy-to-use manner. Finally, the improved clips of the present invention may be manufactured in a variety of sizes, colors, and designs, to provide aesthetically-pleasing items for the presentation of documents.

The engaging members are positioned within the opposing inner surfaces of the support members and are positioned opposite of the pivot portion thereof. The textile sheet is positioned between the support members and the support members are compressed against the textile sheet by the end members being positioned about the first member and the second member.

The adjoining wall connects the joined ends of the rear and front walls together. The interior side of the rear wall includes a pair of spaced-apart projections at the free end of the rear wall. The interior side of the front wall has a curved portion at the free end of the front wall. The curved portion is in tight mating contact with the pair of projections. The free ends define an entry through which the sheet-like material is to be inserted. The entry is normally closed, and is openable by urging apart the front and rear walls. The rear, the front and the adjoining walls, together, define an elongated hollow that is configured to accommodate a wire binding.

Abstract: A poster clasp for suspending a poster therefrom includes a suspension assembly having at least one suspension device for operable, suspending cooperation with a surface. A clasp assembly is formed integrally, unitarily with the suspension assembly. The clasp assembly has a support member and a hinged gripping member, the support member having a cam point formed integral with a backplate, and the hinged gripping member having a hingedly rotatable lobe, the lobe being rotatable between an open disposition and a closed disposition, the lobe cooperating with the cam point to exert a compressive, frictional force on a poster disposed between the lobe and the cam point when the lobe is in the closed disposition to capture the poster for suspension thereof. A method of engaging a poster for the suspension thereof by means of a poster clasp is further included.

Abstract: A file drawer is disclosed where two opposed top edges of the file drawer include pivoting rails which are movable to one of the two positions. The rails in one position are spaced for supporting letter size file jackets and in the other position support metric A4 size file jackets. This arrangement allows the manufacture of common size file drawers which can easily be adjusted for either filing application.
