Abstract: A snap-action one-piece clamping device, made of spring steel, plastic, or the like, includes an endless member and a tongue. The endless member is a frusto-conical or frusto-spherical band having inner and outer rims of generally oval or rectangular configuration. The tongue projects transversely from either the inner or outer rim, depending upon the embodiment. The endless member has two stable positions on opposite sides of a reference plane defined by its outer rim and can be snapped to either position from the other by finger pressure applied toward the reference plane proximate the longitudinal mid-point in the endless member. The tongue is positionally slaved to the endless member and likewise has two stable positions. In one embodiment the tongue projects from the inner rim and clamps sheet material or a tube against the inner rim. In another embodiment the tongue projects from the outer rim and extends along a pen or the like to clamp a pocket against the pen.
Abstract: A single paper clip is capable of separately holding two different sheafs of papers. It is formed of a continuous length of wire successively bent into a series of re-entrant loops interspersed with six legs. One sheaf of papers may be secured between a first and third loop, and a second sheaf is thereafter secured between a third and fifth loop.
Abstract: This disclosure involves a compiler-binder having a rigid back spine and covers hinged thereto, wherein the spine is provided with transverse openings for receiving projections of clips securable to the backs of each of a plurality of periodicals to lock the same against vertical movement and effectively bind them in a manner closely simulating a rigidly bound book with a hard board cover, without the necessity for resorting to customary bookbinding techniques.
Abstract: A clip to grip paper is adapted to carry advertising indicia. The clip comprises two cooperating gripping jaws. One or both of the jaws is formed with a thin planar land such that the land and jaw are formed as a single piece thereby monolithically to define a plate-like clamping plane. A resilient element maintains the jaws in a given alignment and causes the jaws to exert a clamping pressure. Each planar face of the plate-like clamping plane provides a means on which the advertising indicia is placed.
Abstract: A magnetic clipping device especially suitable for magnetically retaining on ferromagnetic walls sheet-like articles which may also be stitched or bound together, consists of two permanent magnet face-like elements between which the article is retained which are coupled with each other by a joint or hinge.
