Abstract: In a device for opening pressed fiber bales material, using at least one milling roller (3,4) acting on the bale surface (20) of the fiber bales, and one pressure roller (18) arranged before and behind the milling roller, respectively, in the moving direction thereof and parallel thereto. A suction hood (21) is arranged above the milling roller (3,4) for sucking off the reduced fibers in an air flow. And air-guide channel (2), provided by a plurality of air-guide sheets (22,26), is arranged between the pressure roller (18) and the milling roller (3,4), extending over the whole length of the milling roller (3,4) and in parallel to the milling and pressure rollers (3,4,18).
Abstract: The invention comprises a method and apparatus for breaking apart tightly compressed and interlocked articles such as plastic bottles into separate individual articles in a form suitable for subsequent processing.

Abstract: A system for handling bales of feed includes a freight trailer with a tongue that can be offset laterally to cause the trailer to follow a path to one side of the path of a tractor to permit a front-loading device on the trailer to engage bales of feed and raise them onto a load-carrying platform of the trailer. The platform is tiltable downward to the rear to induce sliding movement of loaded bales, and to release said bales in a vertical stack. The platform is provided with a device to grip the top bale of a stack and insert a lifting member under the stack to retrieve it for feeding operations. The platform is tiltable downward-forward to induce forward movement of the bales for release onto a bale shredder carried in part on the tongue of the trailer.
Abstract: A bale shredding comprising an elongated wheeled frame having a first bale conveyor pivotally mounted thereon and moveable from an inclined position for loading bales onto the bale conveyor to a horizontally disposed transport positon. A bale shredder is mounted on the forward end of the wheeled frame at one side thereof forwardly of the forward end of the first bale conveyor. A second bale conveyor is positioned on the wheeled frame forwardly of the forward end of the first bale conveyor for conveying bales laterally into bale shredding drums. A pair of push rods are longitudinally movably mounted on the first bale conveyor for pushing the last bale thereon onto the second bale conveyor.

The bale shredding drums have collars mounted at the ends thereof to prevent twine from wrapping around the shafts of the drums.
Abstract: A device for tearing-up and stoking straw into a burner unit. A reciprocating slide is provided under a magazine shaft for straw bales, the slide having mutually staggered teeth on its upper side in a forward part of the slide and elongated fins extending in the direction of movement of the slide in a rear part. The part closest to the stoking channel constitutes a piston means for the conveyance and compression of comminuted straw. The straw is torn-up during the initial advance movement of the slide towards the channel because the teeth are in engagement with the bottom of the lowermost bale, whereas the bale is upheld by the teeth and the fins during the return movement of the slide. The piston means ensures that the shredded straw is pushed into a stoking channel for the combustion chamber of a boiler. Very compressed straw bales are thereby very uniformly comminuted and compressed before being fed into a burner unit.
Abstract: In an opening device for opening pressed fibre bales, e.g. cotton and viscose staple bales and the like, comprising a plurality of opener rolls (3,4) on which a plurality of milling discs (14) are arranged side by side such that they are offset with respect to the milling discs (14) of the adjacent opener roll (3,4), and comprising a grate (10), the bars (11) of which extend between the milling discs (14), it is provided to dispose a baffle sheet (8) with a cross section of a substantially gabled roof-shape is disposed in parallel to the roll axes (6,7) of the opener rolls (3,4) between said two opener rolls (3,4), the tip of the sheet protruding beyond the grate (10) into the lower space between the opener rolls (3,4).
Abstract: A bale shredder is provided with a loading fork along a side of the shredder that will lift a first bale from the ground and move it into the shredder. The loading fork includes a support platform portion that is used for lifting and supporting a second bale with a first bale remaining in the bale shredding chamber, so that both bales can be transported to a location for shredding. The fork is operated by a single hydraulic cylinder that will tilt the bale into a position on a main support platform, and which has a slide plate that moves the bale closer to the chamber when the fork is tilted upwardly a sufficient amount. Further upward tilting causes the bale to tumble into the bale chamber for shredding.
