Oversize Return To Comminuting Zone Patents (Class 241/80)
  • Patent number: 6719610
Abstract: A particulate grinding method and device applies different force fields to drive the grinding medium and the particulates move in different routes but collide only at a grinding area so that they are separated naturally without conventional screening mechanisms, such as a screen or a gap, and prevented from the limitation of mechanical size of the components. Moreover, the invention is applicable to finer particulates. The circulation of particulates is not limited by any small gap of screening mechanisms, so the particulates ill not block the separator.

Abstract: The invention relates to a grinding circuit for use in a flue gas desulfurization system. The circuit comprises a mill for grinding limestone in water to form a limestone particle slurry. The thus-formed slurry is pumped to a hydrocyclone classifier which separates the limestone slurry into a slurry containing oversized particles that are to be reground in the mill and a slurry containing particles suitable for product which are sent to a product tank inlet for subsequent use in the flue gas desulfurization system. In the present system, the hydrocyclone classifier is elevated above the feed inlet into the mill but below the product tank inlet and, consequently, while the oversized particles are directed by gravity from the hydrocyclone to the mill feed inlet, the particles suitable for use in the flue gas desulfurization system are pumped from the hydrocyclone outlet to the product tank inlet.

  • Patent number: 6666394
Abstract: In the production of meal-fine products by a milling process the milling material generated in a comminuting device is ordinarily separated at the desired grain size in a downstream sifter and the fine material (meal-fine product) obtained here is then separated in the fine material separating device from the sifting air. According to the invention it is proposed to construct the sifter as a V-sifter and to connect this latter, without interposition of the otherwise ordinarily used pipelines, directly with the fine material separating device, preferably an electro-filter.

Abstract: An improvement to the conventional grinding mill and separator designs which facilitates the use of larger diameter grinding surfaces and additional numbers of grinding rollers by equalizing the gas velocity around the grinding rollers and journal with the gas velocity employed to fluidize the feed particulate material. A plurality of peripheral vertical static separators are located about the grinding chamber and above the grinding rollers to provide an increase in the cross-sectional area of the grinding mill vertical shaft, thereby reducing the gas velocity around the grinding rollers and journal. The peripheral vertical static separators are configured with a trapezoidal sectional area, such that oversize particulate material falling into the peripheral vertical static separators is redirected into the grinding chamber, resulting in an increase in the number of grinding chamber material introduction points.

Abstract: In a method for disposing of waste matter such as waste tire pieces by using first and second shredding members each having shredding blades, the waste matter is introduced into a space between the shredding blades of the first and second shredding members and shredded or torn off into fine chips by operating the first and second shredding members, while partially caught by grooves formed in opposite faces of the shredding blades of the respective shredding members. By moving the first and second shredding members relative to each other in opposite directions to impart a shearing force to the waste matter in the space between the shredding blades, the waste matter is effectively torn off into pieces. • Patent number: 5758832
Abstract: An apparatus and method for recycling glass waste comprising glass and non-glass materials. The apparatus has a device for receiving and presizing the glass waste to produce presized glass waste. A first conveyor receives the presized glass waste and transfers it to a storage hopper. The presized glass waste is then transported to an impact mill via a second conveyor. The rate of movement of the second conveyor is regulated by a control device located within the impact mill. In the impact mill, the glass component of the glass waste is beat off the non-glass component of the glass waste to produce a pulverized mixture. The pulverized mixture is then sent to a screening device via a third conveyor. In the screening device, the glass and non-glass material are separated from the pulverized mixture and collected for reuse.

Abstract: When pulverising polyurethane, polyurea and/or polyurethane/polyurea materials in a roller mill with at least two rollers (2,3) rotating at different circumferential speeds, a very economical method of operation is achieved by returning the coarse fraction falling freely out of the roll slit (4) to the roll slit (4) and stripping the fine material adhering to the roller (3) with the higher circumferential speed and discharging it separately from the coarse fraction.

  • Patent number: 5630557
Abstract: The invention relates to a stirring mill in whose grinding tank, provided with an inlet and an outlet, and charged with a load of grinding beads, a stirring shaft (stirring mechanism) provided with stirrers, is rotatable, on which, for holding back the grinding beads a separator is mounted ahead of the outlet and is provided with radial openings. The invention is addressed to the problem of creating a stirring mill with a grinding bead separator whose separation limit corresponds to the upper grain size of the fines, by which sieves or filters for holding back the grinding beads are avoided, and which nevertheless sufficiently assures that no grinding beads or particles of dispersants can enter into the finish-ground product. This problem is solved by the fact that the separator is formed by a rotor in the manner of a centrifugal force sifting rotor (6) wherein the passages are formed by the interstices or spaces between every two sifter rotor paddles (10).

  • Patent number: 5622321
Abstract: The invention relates to a mill classifier or sifter, particularly a roller mill classifier, which is suitable as a high-performance classifier for a roller pan mill or a roller mill, e.g. for an air-swept mill. In order to achieve in the case of a particularly simple construction a high flexibility and optimization of the classifying processes as a function of the particular needs, there is a combination of a static distributor formed from several adjustable guide blade rings and a ledge rotor as the dynamic classifier. In order to achieve a multiple classifying and in particular a reduction of the coarse material fraction prior to dynamic classifying, in the vicinity of the static distributor is provided a deflecting device in an area of the classifier cover, through which the disadvantageous effects of a 90.degree. deflection are largely avoided.
