Abstract: An ice shaving apparatus (10) includes a housing (12) having a surface (20) for supporting an ice billet. A cutting head (59) is rotatably supported in one end of the housing and functions to discharge ice shaved from the billet through an aperture (50). The cutting head is rotatably supported in a drum (70) having a boss (90, 120) projecting rearwardly therefrom. The boss has a bearing receiving aperture (92, 122) formed therethrough. Sealed ball bearings (100, 130) are positioned in the aperture and rotatably support a shaft (48, 48') which in turn supports the cutting head. A slinger (110, 160) is mounted on the shaft between the cutting head and the bearings and serves to prevent water from engaging the bearings.

Abstract: A food processor having many good practical effects. A cover put on a food processor body detachably is provided with a larger-diameter inlet port, into which the food to be cut having a large diameter can be inserted without any trouble of cutting it into smaller pieces beforehand, in addition to a regular-size inlet port, into which the food to be cut having a regular size is to be inserted. These inlet ports are so safely formed that the hand or the fingertips cannot be inserted thereinto from the outside. In this food processor, not only a regular-size material but also a large-size (large-diameter) material, which cannot be inserted into the regular-size inlet port, but which can be inserted as it is into the additionally-formed inlet port, can be cut therein.

  • Patent number: 4463907
Abstract: A cutter wheel for a brush chipper or the like has a support plate generally centered on, extending perpendicular to, and rotatable in a predetermined rotational sense about a central support axis. This plate is formed with a plurality of slots angularly equispaced about and radially equispaced from the support axis and with a plurality of screw holes each trailing a respective slot relative to the rotational sense. A plurality of blades each have an annular outer periphery formed as a succession of cutting edges. The outer peripheries of the blades are centered on respective blade axes and each blade has at the respective blade axis a throughgoing attachment hole. Respective attachment screws engage through the attachment holes with the screw holes, with one of the cutting edges directed forwardly in the rotational sense of the support plate. Thus with this system a new cutting edge can be brought up simply by loosening the respective screw and rotating the blade, then tightening the screw.
