A light source and a battery are each mounted within the interior of the tube. The light source is configured to emit light to illuminate the interior of the tube. The tube is constructed such that at least a portion of the light is emitted from the tube to illuminate the surrounding exterior area.

Abstract: An expandable and contractible spindle for dispensing rolled paper product, such as toilet paper, is described. The spindle comprises two elongated housings slideably coupled together, and a spring disposed there between. The first housing has a hallow interior portion and a side opening that provides access to the interior. The second housing has at least three sections with different diameters. The first section has a diameter that fits into the hollow interior of the first housing, but is too large to exit the side opening. The second section has a diameter smaller than the side opening. The third section has a diameter larger than the side opening. In this manner, first housing slides with respect to second housing along the length of the second section of second housing. The spring is disposed in the hallow interior, causing the spindle to expand.

The station includes a toilet paper dispenser made from a plastic type material and the toilet paper dispenser may be a single or double roll dispenser. The station cover houses a battery-operated fan that pulls air from inside the dispenser. A tray inside the dispenser holds a fragrance cup holding a quantity of deodorant. The base holds one or two rolls of commercial toilet paper, each of which rolls on a hollow plastic axle to hold a bottle containing wipes. A microswitch may be integrated in the cover to disengage the fan when the cover of the unit is open.

Abstract: A coreless roll of paper is formed by winding a web of paper around an elongated mandrel to form a roll of convolutely wound paper. The mandrel is formed from flexible and elastic material, and after the roll is wound, the mandrel is pulled longitudinally and withdrawn from the roll of paper to form a coreless roll. Alternatively, the mandrel can be pressurized to expand the mandrel radially before or during the winding of the web around the mandrel. After the roll is wound, the pressure in the mandrel is relieved so that the mandrel contracts radially, and the mandrel is withdrawn from the roll. A novel clasp is used to grasp and extract a tubular mandrel from the roll. The clasp includes a rigid shaft which is adapted to be inserted into a tubular mandrel. A plurality of clamping blocks are spaced radially outwardly from the shaft and are spaced circumferentially around the shaft.

Abstract: This invention relates to a tape applicator or tape head formed from a combination of two separated apparatuses namely a detachable unit containing a front portion of the tape applicator and a stationary unit containing a rear portion of the applicator with snap-on engagement there between to obtain the interactive motion of a conventional tape applicator i.e. the present invention separates a conventional tape applicator into two separate portions which results in the ability to quickly change tapes and reduces safety hazards.

A mass absorber (24) is arranged in conjunction with the bearing housing, whereby the damping of the vibration of the roll assembly is arranged by the cooperation of the bearing housing that is attached in a flexible and attenuating manner and the mass absorber (24) in conjunction therewith. The invention also relates to a method of attenuating the vibration of a roll of a fiber-web machine.

Abstract: This invention is a new portable and collapsible fishing line spool holder that can be hung from a fishing rod eyelet to permit the winding of the fishing line from the spool onto the fishing rod's reel. The present invention avoids common problems of twisting and line tension during transfer from spool to reel. Moreover, the present invention is collapsible, simple to load, and easily transportable.

Abstract: A spindle for dispensing a roll of paper product is described. The spindle has an elongated member rotatably coupled with two side members. The side members have different sections of various diameters, which are configured to allow a portion of the side members to be inserted into a hollow interior of the elongated member. The elongated member has sufficient elasticity to provide a snap connection with the side members. The side members are configured to engage a track in a dispenser. Furthermore, at least one of the side members is removable. Also described herein is a roller assembly for adapting a dispenser. The assembly comprises a spindle rotatably coupled with a housing. The housing includes a fastener for attaching the housing to a dispenser. The roller assembly is configured to raise a roll of paper product, thus allowing dispensers originally designed for core rolls to be used with coreless rolls.

The spindle has a longitudinal extension and direction and includes a body and at least three elongated spring elements extending along the longitudinal direction. The body has a centre section adapted to hold the roll, and each elongated spring element has a first end and a second end. The spindle is adapted to hold the roll and to be rotated about an essentially horizontal axis. The at least three elongated spring elements are arranged for stabilizing the roll on the centre section. The first end and the second end of each spring element are fixedly attached to the body such that the spring elements are fixedly positioned in the longitudinal direction on the body. A holder for a roll of wiping material comprising such a spindle is also presented.

Abstract: The present invention provides a dispenser for moisturized sheets in the core of a toilet paper roll. Not only are wet and dry wipes provided coincidentally, the location is particularly handy for toilet use. In a utilization of existing bathroom fixtures, the novel concept offsets the rotational axis of the toilet paper roll to make an aperture available to dispense the moisturized sheets from the volume of the core previously occupied by the conventional spool. The invention further provides a hermetically sealed refill unit, a mechanism for singlating individual wipes, and means for preventing moisture loss from the sheets.

Abstract: The insert for roll paper products is pliable, preferably scent-impregnated, foam material that can be wrapped around a dispensing bar of a rolled paper dispenser, and resiliently grips the bar while adding friction to the total dispensing system. The dispensing bar and insert combination is then slid through the hollow core of a rolled paper product. The sleeve has dentate ends that extend beyond the ends of the paper roll. When the product core is rotated while paper is being dispensed, the passage of air through the dentate ends helps to dispense and distribute the scent through the environment proximate the paper dispenser. Moreover, the resilient foam insert provides friction between the paper roll and the foam structure, while also adding friction between the foam structure and the dispensing bar. This feature acts as a brake to prevent excess rollout of the rolled product when being dispensed.

The roller of the invention has an outer diameter gradually enlarged towards two ends, and includes a first half roller and a second half roller that have respectively a first positioning portion and a second positioning portion at one end corresponding and fastenable to each other. The greater diameters at two ends allow the fabric to be rolled up on the roller without skewing. The two pieces design of the roller makes each piece shorter and removing from a bundle of rolled up fabric easier. The roller thus formed can facilitate fabric rolling and removal thereof.

In the second, cover opened, operational state, the roll of material also has a second rotational or web speed which is greater than zero. A method for controlling a device on a roll changer is also disclosed.

The toilet paper spindle can include a central spindle, an outer sleeve, and a rotation biasing member. The central spindle can include engagement ends which prevent or minimize movement of the central spindle with respect to the mounted spindle holder. The outer sleeve can be oriented concentrically about the central spindle and can minimize or prevent relative movement of a standard toilet paper roll mounted thereon. The rotation biasing member can be oriented inside the outer sleeve to allow axial rotation along a common axis between the outer sleeve and the central spindle during removal of toilet paper from the toilet paper roll. The biasing member also acts such that the outer sleeve returns to a biased position after removal of the toilet paper is complete effectively rewinding the roll.

The cost and weight of the axle assembly can be significantly reduced forming the drums from stamped sheet metal, as well as using relatively thin roll-formed and butt-welded sheet metal to the form the tube. An axle assembly can also include a spiral wound tube that can be readily unwound and replaced with minimal disassembly of the rest of the door assembly.

As a result, the ink ribbon will not unintentionally greatly loosen.

Abstract: A core or a core shaft is formed from a plurality of identical, extruded pieces. Each piece has complementary grooves on opposite sides, so that the pieces interlock. Each piece extends the length of the core or core shaft. The pieces are held together by a series of pins and are connected to a core shaft journal or a core cap by a series of screws that fit into receptacles in the pieces. When used as a core shaft, each piece includes a channel for a bladder.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for managing stranded media for hand-working includes a base frame; a vertical spindle unit having a shaft, and first and second flanges. A guide for the media is manually movable during operation of the crank for axially dispersing portions of the media being rewound between opposite ends of the spindle, the guide being selectively held stationary in an intermediate position for dispensing the media through the guide with limited axial displacements of the media from the supply. The apparatus can include a crank on the spindle shaft, part of the frame extending near the crank for manual support of the apparatus while cranking. The guide can be biased in one direction, and a control member coupled to the guide for movement in the other direction in response to downward finger pressure for rewinding with one hand turning the crank and the other hand holding the frame and moving the control member.
