  • Publication number: 20140084102
Abstract: A coreless roll of paper is formed by winding a web of paper around an elongated mandrel to form a roll of convolutely wound paper. The mandrel is formed from flexible and elastic material, and after the roll is wound, the mandrel is pulled longitudinally and withdrawn from the roll of paper to form a coreless roll. Alternatively, the mandrel can be pressurized to expand the mandrel radially before or during the winding of the web around the mandrel. After the roll is wound, the pressure in the mandrel is relieved so that the mandrel contracts radially, and the mandrel is withdrawn from the roll. A novel clasp is used to grasp and extract a tubular mandrel from the roll. The clasp includes a rigid shaft which is adapted to be inserted into a tubular mandrel. A plurality of clamping blocks are spaced radially outwardly from the shaft and are spaced circumferentially around the shaft.

  • Patent number: 7980507
Abstract: The insert for roll paper products is pliable, preferably scent-impregnated, foam material that can be wrapped around a dispensing bar of a rolled paper dispenser, and resiliently grips the bar while adding friction to the total dispensing system. The dispensing bar and insert combination is then slid through the hollow core of a rolled paper product. The sleeve has dentate ends that extend beyond the ends of the paper roll. When the product core is rotated while paper is being dispensed, the passage of air through the dentate ends helps to dispense and distribute the scent through the environment proximate the paper dispenser. Moreover, the resilient foam insert provides friction between the paper roll and the foam structure, while also adding friction between the foam structure and the dispensing bar. This feature acts as a brake to prevent excess rollout of the rolled product when being dispensed.

  • Patent number: 7954751
Abstract: A roller mounted onto a fabric winding machine to roll up fabric aims to solve the shortcomings of the conventional rollers that tend to cause fabric skewing during fabric rolling and are difficult to remove due to a lengthy structure. The roller of the invention has an outer diameter gradually enlarged towards two ends, and includes a first half roller and a second half roller that have respectively a first positioning portion and a second positioning portion at one end corresponding and fastenable to each other. The greater diameters at two ends allow the fabric to be rolled up on the roller without skewing. The two pieces design of the roller makes each piece shorter and removing from a bundle of rolled up fabric easier. The roller thus formed can facilitate fabric rolling and removal thereof.

  • Patent number: 6454204
Abstract: The invention relates to a rotatable supporting element for accommodating winding tubes, plug-in adapters or the like with a supporting body and a casing, which surrounds the supporting body and is connected with it indissolubly in sleeve fashion and comprises a material which is different from and has a greater hardness than that of the supporting body. The casing has at least one stress-relieving region which extends in ring-shaped fashion about its periphery and is formed by a region of reduced material thickness or by a material-free region. By means of this configuration, stress peaks in the casing and uncontrolled tearing or breaking of the casing are avoided.

Abstract: A yard sign for dispensing plastic bags for use in collecting domestic pet waste for later disposal includes a display panel attachable to the ground and a supply of waste bags dispensed from the rear of the sign through a slot. The display panel preferably has a contour that depicts a familiar object such as a dog or other animal. A dispensing slot or opening is preferably positioned at the location of the animal's mouth. Waste bags are stored on a continuous perforated roll on the back of the sign. In one embodiment of the invention, bag storage and dispensing is accomplished by the use of a hanger assembly including a mounting bracket and a U-shaped rod with one arm of the rod serving as a holder for a roll of bags. In another embodiment, bags are held and dispensed by a strap retained by snap fasteners on the back of the sign. In use, the sign is placed in a yard in an area convenient to a pet owner walking his or her pet to facilitate the pet owner's ability to dispose of pet waste.

  • Patent number: 6257780
Abstract: An ink ribbon is formed form a belt shaped sheet body, and is wound around a pair of tubes. Spools are detachably mounted at each end of the tube bodies. An ink ribbon cartridge includes side plates formed with supporting openings for supporting corresponding spools. Each supporting opening is formed with a cutout portion defined by edges. When the ink ribbon cartridge is mounted in a facsimile machine, the spools are freely rotatable within the supporting openings. On the other hand, when the ink ribbon cartridge is dismounted from the facsimile machine, engagement protrusions formed to the spools catch on the edges defining the cutout portions, thereby preventing the spools form rotating. As a result, the ink ribbon will not unintentionally greatly loosen.

Abstract: A tissue dispenser comprising a hollow container forms an inner chamber for housing a roll of tissue. The container comprises two separable housing components which when separated enable the insertion of rolled tissue into the chamber and when fitted together enclose and support the rolled tissue in the chamber. Each of the housing components are substantially identical. When fitted together, the housing components define the container walls and sides to surround the rolled tissue, an aperture through which the free end of the tissue is passed during dispensing and a spindle on which the rolled tissue is supported for dispensing. The tissue dispenser includes releasable mating means to releasably mate one housing component to the other to form the dispenser assembly.

  • Patent number: 6016900
Abstract: The present invention features a new type of spring-loaded axle. The spring-loaded axle of this invention has a single element. The single component of this invention has a specially-designed spring that acts both as a detent and an axle, all in one. The spring includes an elongated, flexible, coiled, spring portion that has a compressible, coiled midsection that is flanked by a generally non-compressible, coiled section on either side of the compressible, coiled midsection. At the distal end of each of the non-compressible, coiled sections is located a flexible, generally non-compressible, curvilinear, coiled end section. Each of the conically-shaped, coiled end sections acts like a detent; further, because of their conical shape, they can automatically adjust to the bores of the supporting frame. The elongated, coiled spring portion acts like an axle.
