  • Patent number: 8042757
Abstract: A wire guiding device includes a base and a guide portion for streamlining the flow of coiled wire from a storage container. Side walls may be included to bridge the distance between the device and the storage container to prevent wire from rising upward around the outside of the wire guiding device. As the amount of wire in the bin decreases, the wire guiding device will float downward maintaining constant downward pressure on the coil of wire. Wire in the storage container will therefore be drawn out in a smooth manner limiting or substantially preventing tangles.

  • Publication number: 20110133020
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of delivery devices used for facilitating regular winding of a cable onto a cable drum, includes a guiding device for cables, having a lower wall and two side walls defining a cable-guiding channel, a cable inlet area and an outlet area. The side walls each have a circular part, of radius of curvature R, the convexity of which is directed towards the channel. The radius of curvature and the arrangement of these circular parts are defined such that, whatever the diameter of the guided cable and whatever the orientation of the axis of the cable at the inlet of the device, the cable, when it is under tension, is always in contact with one of the walls of the device. Mounted on a delivery system, the device according to the invention makes it possible to precisely wind the guided cable onto the cable drum with which the delivery system is associated.

  • Patent number: 7905446
Abstract: An overend unwind system for unwinding tacky elastomeric fiber threads such as uncoated spandex thread, capturing the ballooning affect of the thread as the thread leaves the spool, applying a first-stage tension control on the thread adjacent where the thread leaves the spool, feeding the unwound thread to a nip in a downstream process, and applying a final tension increment to the thread adjacent where the thread enters the downstream process. All thread guide surfaces encountered by the thread after leaving the spool, and while the thread is under designed operating tension, are moving surfaces, such that the tensioned thread thereby experiences a reduced level of drag as the thread traverses its path of travel from the spool to the downstream process.

  • Patent number: 7861567
Abstract: An apparatus to control lateral motion of a bar moving along a guidance path includes a pair of rotatable hubs each having at least first and second rollers at locations around the perimeter of the hub. The first roller has a first retaining groove of a first radius and the second roller has a second groove of a second radius smaller than the first radius. In some embodiments, the elongate body includes first and second body portions which can axially, laterally, and/or rotationally move with respect to each other. A generally arcuate recess can extend transversely into the outer surface of the elongate body, and can communicate with the aperture which extends through the elongate body, in a direction transverse to the elongate bore.

Abstract: A cable management guide couples with a component rack to support and guide cables. The cable management guide has offset brackets attachable to posts of the component rack to unobtrusively position cable stays into the interior of the component rack for enhanced positioning of the cables. Each of the cable stays includes a support member to retain one or more cables and a guard member that keeps the cables on the support member within the cable stay. For each cable stay, the guard member is offset from and overlaps with the support member to provide an entrance gap between the support member and the guard member for cables to be slipped into and out of the cable stay.

Abstract: A flange for a tape roller has a curved shape that substantially solves the problems with skewed tape while maintaining manufacturability. The tape edge makes contact with the tape flange where the slope of the curve shape is substantially flat. From the contact point of the tape and the flange, the flange shape gently curves away. The shape of the flange allows some degree of skew in the tape so that contact with the flange edge is avoided, and yet the distance between the two flanges of the roller is more easily controlled than with a roller having tapered edge flanges.
