Patent number: 6076780Abstract: A support stand for pipe, conduit, cable or the like which must be held above the surface of a roof. The stand is essentially triangular with the base of the stand forming one side and two legs, joined at their upper ends, forming the other two sides. A strap is fixed at one end to the face of one of the legs and extends upward, over the top of the stand and down the other side. There, it passes around the pipe, etc., to be supported, which rests against the face of the second leg, and then back over the top of the stand and downward past the first end. The free end passes through a tab bridge formed in, or attached to, the first leg. The height at which the pipe is supported is adjusted by altering the length of the free end which passes through the tab bridge. Patent number: 5149040Abstract: A side beam pipe hanging bracket for principal use in fire sprinkler systems. In the first step of forming the bracket, a generally rectangular shape having an inverted-T-shaped slot, is cut from the metal strip, thereby defining a bolt receiving segment and two hanging segments, one to each side of the bolt receiving segment. The flat bracket is then stamped with threads along the bolt receiving segment, thereby causing the bolt receiving segment to curve and the hanging segments to move laterally toward one another. The hanging segments are then forced further laterally until they overlap one another and holes in each segment are aligned. This motion causes the bolt receiving segment to bend further into a channel with threads around its inner circumference capable of accepting a threaded pipe hanging rod. The bracket is mounted on the vertical surface of a horizontal support by extending a fastener through the overlapped holes in each hanging segment.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 1991Date of Patent: September 22, 1992Assignee: Tolco, IncorporatedInventor: Richard W. Patent number: 4934634Abstract: A pipe hanger assembly for suspension from an associated spacing member extending from a support structure. The hanger assembly includes a generally continuous loop member configured to receive an associated pipe therein. Extending legs on the loop member each include first and second arcuate portions defining interlocking means. The interlocking means are designed to engage an opposed leg and receive an interconnecting member therethrough. The interconnecting member operatively engages the spacing member and has a radially extending flange defining a shoulder for abutting engagement with the loop member.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 1988Date of Patent: June 19, 1990Assignee: Wire Products Co., Inc.Inventors: Winston H. Breeden, Jr., Edward S. Kennedy, Phillip A. Wright

Patent number: 4907766Abstract: A system for positioning and supporting a pipe or conduit in fixed position relative to a structural element, comprising a support bar to be secured to the structural element having openings therein spaced at regular intervals lengthwise of the bar, and a thin flat bracket member to be affixed to the support bar in a selected position lengthwise of the bar. The bracket member is formed with at least one L-shaped lug and is adapted to be inserted through a selected opening of the support bar and moved relative to the bar from a preliminary position to a final position wherein the lug extends beyond the opening and overlaps the bar with a marginal edge portion of the opening received in the space between the lug and the bracket member.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 1989Date of Patent: March 13, 1990Assignee: B-Line Systems, Inc.Inventor: Eric R. Patent number: 4901958Abstract: A method of suspending a pipe rack assembly from one or more vertical threaded shafts without passing the assembly over the ends of the shafts utilizes vertically opposed U-shaped channel members each having a plurality of transverse slots extending transversely inward from opposite side walls which are placed laterally on the shafts then slidably received one on the other and secured in the overlapped position with threaded fasteners. The vertically spaced slots in the upper and lower channel members form a circular opening which surrounds the shaft. The assembled channels are supported on the shafts by split nut members having two separable internally threaded segments which encircle the shaft and are releasably joined together on the shafts as a single unit to engage the bottom surface of the lower channel member. The split nuts allow adjustment and leveling of the assembled channel members at the proper height.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 1988Date of Patent: February 20, 1990Inventor: Michael V. Kelso

Patent number: 4834186Abstract: A system for mounting a branch pipeline and sprinkler head assembly of a fire extinguisher sprinkler system to structural elements above the ceiling of a building in a manner which allows the sprinkler head to be vertically adjusted relative to the plane of the ceiling. The mounting system includes an anchor bracket which attaches the horizontal pipe of the branch pipeline to a structural element and a clamp which is attached to a structural element and is selectively operable for gripping and releasing the vertical pipe of the branch pipeline to allow vertical adjustment of the sprinkler head and hold it immobile subsequent to the vertical adjustment. The clamp is of special configuration which allows it to be operated in response to an operating force which is applied thereto in a direction parallel to the vertical pipe through a sprinkler head clearance hole formed in the ceiling.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 1987Date of Patent: May 30, 1989Inventor: Estus E. Patent number: 4790500Abstract: A light ray radiation device for use in medical treatment having optical conductor cables which transmit light rays corresponding to the visible light ray components of solar rays needs an optical conductor cable supporting stand. The stand comprises an upright pole fixedly mounted on a fixing pedestal, a supporting fixture slidably and rotatably attached to the upright pole, a supporting arm fixed the supporting fixture and perpendicular the upright pole, and fixedly mounted members which are slidably and rotatably mounted onto the supporting arm. The fixedly mounted members being comprised of cable receiving portions unitarily attached thereto which intersect the supporting arm and support the optical conductor cables.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 1987Date of Patent: December 13, 1988Inventor: Kei Mori

Patent number: 4790509Abstract: A collar (10) for supporting a tubular concrete form (12) for cylindrical bridge supports or the like. The collar (10) includes cooperating sections (14) and (16) dimensioned for receiving the circumference of a tubular concrete form (12). The sections can be adjusted to receive forms (12) having various diameters. In the preferred embodiment, the collar (10) includes brackets (46) suitable for being connected to a frame (60) which support the collar (10) while concrete cures in the form (12). As necessary or desired, a template (66) is mounted on the collar for positioning anchor bolts (74) and (76) at selected locations in concrete curing in the form.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 1987Date of Patent: December 13, 1988Inventors: William L. Patent number: 4765577Abstract: A substantially horizontal pipe is supported within a U-shaped trough made of sheet metal. The trough has spaced sides interconnected by a curved bottom that define a width and a depth. A plurality of supports have curved surfaces for accommodating and supporting the curved bottom of the trough. The trough spans between spaced supports and has sufficient rigidity to support the pipe without allowing undue pipe deflection. The trough sides are tied to prevent splaying. The trough can be made in longitudinal sections having interfitting ends. These interfitting ends can be sealed so that the trough provides secondary containment for leakage from the pipe. A gap can be left between longitudinal sections of the trough to accommodate a branch pipe, and an adjustable bridge interconnects the sections for transferring stresses therebetween.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 1987Date of Patent: August 23, 1988Assignee: Pipe Shields, Inc.Inventors: Seymour Collins, William F.
