Patent number: 6540198Abstract: A docking station (10) comprises a mast latch assembly (12) which attaches to the outer end of a mast (M). An adapter (14) which connects to a sensor platform (G) disengagingly attaches to the mast latch assembly. An isolation assembly (16) mounts on a surface (D) of a vehicle (V) adjacent an opening (O) through which the mast extends and retracts. As the mast is retracted, the adapter (14) engages with isolation assembly (16) and disengages from the mast latch assembly. This attaches the sensor platform to the isolation assembly which now protects the sensors from vibrations produced by the vehicle and any shocks created by the terrain over which the vehicle travels. It also allows the sensors to be used for surveillance during vehicle travel. When the vehicle stops and the mast is again extended, the adapter (14) re-engages with the mast latch assembly and is disengaged from the isolation assembly.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2001Date of Patent: April 1, 2003Assignee: Engineered Support Systems, Inc.Inventors: Edward V. Patent number: 4913387Abstract: A computer input device removably mounted to a keyboard is disclosed. A bar, which may be slightly longer than the width of the keyboard, is slidably mounted beneath the keyboard. The bar is slidable from a first position in which one end of the bar extends beyond the side of the keyboard to a second position in which the other end of the bar extends beyond the other side of the keyboard. An input device, such as a trackball, is removably attached, for example, by hook and loop fasteners, to the end of the bar which extends beyond the side of the keyboard. To move the device to the other side of the keyboard, the device is lifted off the end of the bar, the bar is slid under the keyboard until the other end extends beyond the other side of the keyboard, and the device is attached on the other end of the bar. The removable mount of the present invention thus accommodates left and right side mounting, eases the switching from side to side, and takes up minimum space.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 1989Date of Patent: April 3, 1990Assignee: Hewlett-Packard CompanyInventor: William W. Patent number: 4526337Abstract: A projector stacking stand for supporting at least one image projector comprises a frame and at least one mounting platform connected to the frame with ends supporting an image projector. Each mounting platform is connected to the frame for enabling adjustment of the pitch, roll and yaw thereof relative to the frame by means of a gimbal having three discrete pivot axes corresponding to pitch, roll and yaw axes. The gimbal is moved about the pitch and roll axes by two shafts, each mounted on the gimbal for independent rotation with the axis thereof disposed parallel to the pitch axis and a cable for each shaft having at least one turn therearound. Each cable is connected to the frame under tension with a portion above and below the turn around the shaft and each shaft is rotatable to effect vertical movement thereof along its cable, whereby pitch adjustment is obtained by rotating the two shafts simultaneously in the same direction and roll adjustment is obtained by rotating the shafts individually.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 1982Date of Patent: July 2, 1985Assignee: General Audio-Visual Inc.Inventor: Vladimir Viasmensky

Patent number: 4500054Abstract: A mounting system for two turboshaft gas turbine engines which are connected by a coupling gearbox. The mounting system comprises a front mounting attached to the gearbox which permits pivotal movement of the engine/gearbox assembly but restrains longitudinal movement and two strut members which support the engines vertically but provide no lateral or longitudinal support. The engines are interconnected by link members and an intermediate member rotatably attached to the vehicle which permit relative lateral movement between the engines but constrain any lateral movements of the engines which are in unison relative to the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 1983Date of Patent: February 19, 1985Assignee: Rolls-Royce LimitedInventor: Alfred W. Patent number: 4454732Abstract: A combined appliance is provided which includes unifying support structure. First and second appliances each have cabinets for enclosing the respective appliances. The first appliance is supported in an elevated posture on support structure including a pair of L-shaped support members. The second appliance is engageable with the floor and has side panels with lower recesses for receiving floor engaging portions of the support members. The lower recesses are in closely spaced juxtaposition to the surface engaging support members for stabilizing the first appliance and the support members. The side panels of the first and second appliances are substantially aligned with the sides of the L-shaped support members to provide the combination with the characteristics and stability of a unitary appliance.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 1983Date of Patent: June 19, 1984Assignee: The Maytag CompanyInventors: Charles W. Patent number: 4417515Abstract: A lateral support for a squeegee of an application mechanism of an application machine, has a supporting element arranged to support one end portion of a squeegee, and at least one substantially upright upwardly open guiding element arranged to slidingly guide the supporting element. The supporting element can be guided in or on the guiding element. An application mechanism of an application machine has perhaps a rotary stencil, a squeegee perhaps inside the rotary stencil, and a lateral support including a supporting element and an upwardly open guiding element arranged to slidingly guide the supporting element.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 1981Date of Patent: November 29, 1983Inventor: Mathias Mitter

Patent number: 4415304Abstract: A heavy and elongate recumbent load, such as a missile, is floatingly supported by two pairs of hydraulic pistons engaging it forwardly and rearwardly of its center of gravity, the pistons of each pair being oppositely inclined at 45.degree. to the horizontal. Each piston is part of a single-acting jack whose cylinder has its bottom end connected via a pair of antiparallel check valves to a source of hydraulic fluid, such as a pump in parallel with an accumulator, whose pressure substantially balances the component of the load bearing upon the respective piston. Each check valve has a bising spring so adjusted that it allows the valve to open in response to a manual force applied to the load near the point of attack of the associated piston whereby the load can be reoriented by hand, e.g. for alignment with a launching tube into which a missile is to be inserted with the aid of a carriage equipped with the four hydraulic jacks.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 1982Date of Patent: November 15, 1983Assignee: Seienia, Industrie Elettroniche Associate, S.p.A.Inventors: Antonino Tripoli, Bruno Baldi, Bruno Piacentini

Patent number: 4336677Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for the prestressed assembly of machine- and base-modules offering extensive possibilities of combining modules in different positions. According to the invention jointing arrangements are achieved which satisfy the requirements of suitability for dismantling without at the same time greatly reducing the degree to which modules can be combined. The modules according to the invention comprise a number of load-bearing devices each of which is designed with a circular conically concave abutment face, the apex of the cone being directed towards the module and the center axis of the cone at right angles towards the parting plane. If two modules are assembled with one another a gap is brought about between the conical abutment faces of the adjustment modules capable of accommodating a position-setting spacer element.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1980Date of Patent: June 29, 1982Inventor: Carl G. Patent number: 4320814Abstract: An electric-hydrostatically powered vehicle has an electric motor connected through a gear box to a hydrostatic pump which powers the vehicle. The vehicle chassis includes a main frame portion and a removable subframe portion which is resiliently mounted in spaced-apart, overlying relationship on the main frame portion. The subframe provides a platform for mounting the motor, gear box and pump independently of the main frame of the vehicle to define a removable drive module. The subframe provides planar mounting surfaces that enable translational and angular positioning of the motor and gear box in three dimensions to align their shafts. The module is preassembled by mounting the motor and gear box on the platform, aligning and connecting their shafts, and securing the motor and gear box to the platform. Thereafter, the module is installed as a unit into the vehicle, the alignment of the shafts being undisturbed.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 1979Date of Patent: March 23, 1982Assignee: Paccar Inc.Inventor: Paul J.
