Abstract: A printing apparatus of this invention scans with a tester a testing chart printed by a printing controller to acquire testing image data. A total amount of displacement calculator calculates an amount of displacement of a recording position including a direction of misregister as a total amount of displacement, based on a large amount of displacement determined by a large amount of displacement determiner, a direction of displacement detected by a direction of displacement detector, a shift amount corresponding to an amount of displacement detecting chart determined by an amount of displacement detecting chart determiner, and a peak position of the amount of displacement detecting chart determined by the amount of displacement detecting chart determining unit. Thus, since a total amount of displacement of the misregister can be calculated only by printing the testing chart on web paper WP, an amount of displacement of the misregister in the transport direction can be obtained easily in a short time.

Abstract: A first embodiment of the disclosure provides a system for detection of intrusion into a working space of a material testing device wherein visual user detection system uses digital image processing and filtering in order to identify user entry into the specimen test space. The visual user detection system has built-in redundancy for safety compliance and further can be used for data entry with respect to test data setup and configuration. A second embodiment of the disclosure uses a digital camera mounted on the frame of the material testing device, oriented toward a striped pattern on the top of the front base cover. The striped pattern is recognized by a vision algorithm which creates virtual boundary lines within the pattern. A detected intrusion, such as by a user body part, will be detected and the material testing machine put into a safe state.

  • Patent number: 10627538
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for occupancy detection. In various embodiments, the occupancy detection system includes a server configured to wirelessly communicate with one or more occupancy detectors. Each occupancy detector includes or is associated with an object holder. The object holder can have one of two occupancy states: an occupied state in which an object occupies the object holder or an unoccupied state in which no object occupies the object holder. The occupancy detector includes a sensor and a controller configured to use sensor feedback to determine when the object holder changes occupancy states from the occupied state to the unoccupied state or from the unoccupied state to the occupied state. When the controller determines that the object holder changes occupancy states, the controller generates occupancy data that reflects this changed state and sends it to the server.
