  • Patent number: 6308933
Abstract: A shut-off valve has a housing which is provided with a spindle bush. Located in the spindle bush is a movable spindle which is sealed with respect to the housing. The spindle is connected to a closure body disposed in the housing. The housing also has a recess, which extends around the spindle bush and is open to the interior of the housing. If the housing comes under internal pressure, the recess prevents corresponding deformation of the spindle bush. The latter can thus not become leaky under the action of the internal pressure.

  • Patent number: 6302132
Abstract: A valve assembly includes a valve and a gearbox. The valve includes a valve body having a drive opening and a mounting surface adjacent the drive opening. At least one mounting bore is formed in the mounting surface. At least one rigid pin is fixed to and projects from the mounting surface. A rotatable valve member is disposed in the valve body. A gearbox is operable to rotate the valve member through the drive opening. The gearbox includes a casing including a mounting wall positioned adjacent the mounting surface of the valve body. At least one mounting hole is formed in the mounting wall and is disposed adjacent the mounting bore. At least one pin hole is formed in the mounting wall and receives the pin. A drive hole is formed in the mounting wall and communicates with the drive opening. At least one fastener extends through the mounting hole and engages the mounting bore to secure the casing to the mounting surface. The pin resists relative rotational movement of the casing and the valve body.

  • Patent number: 6296229
Abstract: An improved metal ball valve for gas comprises a shutter housing chamber in which are provided two opposite sides or flats allowing to define annular recesses in which shutter sealing gaskets are substantially integrally engaged. The shutter weight is advantageously reduced by providing, for example, a bottom flattened portion and an axial hole, the shutter forming moreover, with the valve rod element, preferably a single-piece assembly, the rod-shutter assembly being held in the body of the valve by upsetting thereon the thinned end crown of a collar of the valve body.

  • Patent number: 6286810
Abstract: A valve having a valve closing member rotatably supported on one or more valve stems which are positionally infinitely adjustable is disclosed. The valve has a valve body defining a bore with an upper passageway extending from the bore. A valve stem extends coaxially through the passageway and rotatably supports the valve closing member in the bore. A cartridge is coaxially located within the passageway between the valve body and the stem. The cartridge captures the valve stem and engages the passageway via screw threads allowing for infinite positional adjustment. The cartridge also houses bearings for rotation of the stem and seals for sealing the passageway. The valve body may have a second passageway coaxially aligned with the first passageway in which a second valve stem is located. The second stem engages the passageway via screw threads allowing for infinite positional adjustment.

  • Patent number: 6267353
Abstract: A self cleaning and self draining valve. The valve may include a valve body that has an inlet port and an outlet port and a flow control chamber between the inlet and outlet ports wherein a flow control member is operably supported. The inlet and outlet ports may or may not be coaxially aligned. The valve body may have a bottom surface that is substantially coplanar with a bottom surface of the outlet port. The flow control member may have a flow passage that curves downwardly to the bottom of the flow control chamber. The valve may further include a movable seat member that is movably supported within the valve body such that a fluid passage is established between the seat and the flow control member when fluid is flowing through the valve and the passageway is closed when the flow control member is closed. The valve may further have an adjustable bonnet for selectively adjusting the position of the flow control member within the valve body.
