Abstract: An electronically controlled stepper motor valve utilizes an electric feed through assembly providing electrical connection between the stepper motor and a mating cable connector; wherein the electric feed through assembly includes four individual leads that are sequenced to allow the mating cable connector to be installed in any of four positions, each 90 degrees apart. The ability to use a 90 degree elbow style cable connector allows the EEV footprint to be minimized which provides an advantage when the electric expansion valve is installed in the tight confines of a package system.

The sliding component includes a stationary member, and a movable member contactedly sliding on the stationary member. The stationary member and the movable member are respectively composed of a silicon carbide sintered body containing graphite. The content of the graphite in one of the stationary member and the movable member is at least 4% by mass greater than in the other. Thus, the sliding component includes the stationary member and the movable member which are a combination of those having different contents of graphite. Owing to a high lubricating effect, the superior sliding characteristics can be maintained, permitting a long-term continuous sliding.

Abstract: A valve system includes a conical valve body disposed in an engine gaseous fluid stream and having a first fluid passageway, where the conical valve body is a cone or a frustum of a cone. The system includes a fluid inlet conduit fluidly coupled to the conical valve body on an upstream side, a first fluid outlet conduit, and a second fluid outlet conduit. The first and second fluid outlet conduits are fluidly coupled to the conical valve body on a downstream side. The valve system includes a valve actuator operatively coupled to the conical valve body and that rotates the conical valve body, and a controller that provides a valve actuator command and thereby selectively flows the engine gaseous fluid stream through the first fluid outlet conduit and the second fluid outlet conduit.

A drive source, which can be an impeller positioned in the cavity and in fluid communication with the inlet port, is directly or indirectly (such as by a gear assembly) connected to a fluid control plate that has one or more apertures. As fluid enters the cavity through the inlet port the drive rotates the fluid control plate. As the plate rotates the aperture(s) rotate to allow the fluid to pass through the aperture(s) and into the respective outlet ports.
