    Abstract: A testing apparatus for onsite creation of cured sample liners necessary for confirming proper rehabilitation of pipelines includes a testing box having a base with a plurality of upstanding side walls defining an open upper end of the testing box. The testing box also includes an electrical power control assembly and an ultraviolet light assembly. A liner support manifold is shaped and dimensioned for supporting a sample liner and for attachment to the open upper end of the testing box for exposing the sample liner to pressure and ultraviolet light. In practice, and with the sample liner secured to the liner support manifold and the liner support manifold secured to the testing box, the sample liner is exposed to pressure and UV light in a highly controlled manner allowing for replication of actual in-line curing processing.

The method further includes: (b) removing the former from the tank of elastic compound, whereby some of the elastic compound removably adheres to the former and fills the indentation; (c) applying supplemental material to the elastic compound, whereby creating a second protrusion on a second face of the barrier product; and (d) fully drying the supplemental material. One barrier product includes an elastic wall having opposed faces, and first and second protrusions respectively extend from the opposed faces. The first and second protrusions are in cross-sectional alignment whereby rotational input forces on the first protrusion create rotational output forces on the second protrusion.

The apparatus may be in the form of nested or other arrangements of multiple rolls, in which the web is maintained in substantial contact with at least one of the rolls throughout the process, and at least two of the rolls define two or more nips thereon with other rolls. In some embodiments, rolls can be used to expose a different side of the web for a subsequent deformation step. In these or other embodiments, the rolls can be used to transfer the web between rolls in such a manner that it may offset the rolls and/or web so that subsequent deformations are formed at a different cross-machine direction location than prior deformations.

By depositing material to create structural features the cross-section of the extrusion may be locally changed. The method for forming curved extrusions of the present invention may be used, for example, to produce T-chords of an aircraft.
